Title: <S> I'm Outie
Post by: SoulTakr on August 20, 2007, 09:23:24 PM
Been fun hangin w/ ya'll.  Time to get back into reality for awhile. Wife has a tumour that needs to come out,  Kids are starting school soon and being Mr.Mom will def be a challenge even w/out the game.  Soooo, in short have decided to delete the account and hang up the virtual flight suit and be an ace to my family instead.

I have met some special people on this game and am proud to call them friends.  The people that have welcomed me into their homes w/ their families having only known me as either a screen name or a cell phone number, Thank You for the chance to meet you in person.  I remember one time having flown back from Germany, and was met at the airport by one of you and was driven 3 hours home as opposed to hopping onto the 30 min puddle jumper.  I wouldn't trade that in for the world.  Some of you have called me when things haven't been going well and that shows me that no matter what we may say to each other on this game.....

It's Just A Game!!!  Who cares?  When we need each other to either offer a kind word, bit of advice, (might as well add sending Joysticks, comp parts etc back and forth through UPS... :) ) or even just to say "Hey....How are ya?" ,for the most part you all are there for one another.  And that is something that will never go away.(unless of you sleep w/ someone else's wife or something like that.... Was not me and I have no recollection of that senator ;)   )

In all seriousness though, maybe one day when the moon and the stars are aligned just right you may see a spot off in the distance getting bigger and bigger on your screen.  By that time, it's too late, your Soul is Mine

PEACE!!!!!

My bro had a tumor when he was young and he recovered from it. Hope the same will come to you and your family. However, a trampoline accident put him in the hospital again with a brokn leg, followed by a bike wreck which he tore his knees up pretty bad, then another bike wreck breaking him hip, and now luekemia which he is healing great from. Hope that doesnt come to your family.

Thanks for reminding us what's great about this game... strangely enough it's got very little to to with the actual game and everything to do with the people.

I cannot thank you all enough for the kind words.

Heidi is planning on getting a second opinion as far as the best way to take care of it.  The medicine that the endocronoligist(I know it's prolly spelled wrong) wants to give her to reduce the size of the tumour has some weird side effects.  I.E.  Mood Swings, Vision problems, feeling "run down" cramps, just to name a few.  Oh, and there is this one it could possibly cause the tumour to Implode!  As far as that goes naturally she is scared, I told her if she didn't like it to get a second opinion, that's one good thing about living in the U.S of A.  If you don't like what people tell you, then go somewhere's else.  The other possibility is removal, and that is the one I am hoping she leans toward due to the fact that after 2 weeks, she should be back to normal.  W/ the medicine, it will only reduce it in size and she will have to be on that  for the rest of her life.

Now, i have a somewhat twisted sense of humour so when Heidi was telling me about the side effects, I asked, "Aren't those what you are experiencing now w/ it"?  She saw my logic :) Other than that she is still in Jersey Girl mode and kickin.

Anywho's..i need to get back to the kids as they are now getting into glue and all.  Again, TY all very much

.SoulTakr....it was nice to know a guy like you. No matter how annoying people said i was you stuck around in there with me(especially when we wing up in the jugs:t) I know what its like with family members and tumors.  My grandmother had a brain tumor and its slowly coming back.  I wish the best of luck to your wife man.  You just got to put everything in God's hands and let Him take care of it.  All we can do is pray.  And God knows I'll be praying for ya bud.  You've been too good of a friend to me and i surely HATE to see you go(after i FINALLY got into EoI).  Everything i do in AH2 will be dedicated to you man.  You've taught me a LOT of stuff and right now it's paying off.  Hopefully everything will go great  and you will get to come back to us.  Cause i really miss those corny but easy to laugh at "pre-mission" jokes you used to tell:lol.  Yes...i'm talking about the one you told us when we went on that P-47 fighter sweep mission.

Well....best of luck to ya bro and hope everything goes great.  Just let God do his work and pray to him.  You will always be in my thoughts and Prayers.

<<<<<>>>>> SoulTakr...you will be greatly missed

Post by: storch on August 26, 2007, 05:16:15 AM
my mother in law was diagnosed with a lymphatic cancer in 1992.  by the time she went to the doctor the cancer had metastasized to many other areas of her body.

she was placed on chemo but she felt so badly that she decided to go home and die.

I was driving around town and listening to the Ron and Ron show when they had a guest who was talking about a product called cantron (http://alternativecancer.us/antioxidant.htm) which had cured him when tradition treatment had failed.  this was prior to the intardnet so I ordered a book on the topic and read it.  after reading the book and other materials I ordered a years worth of the cantron for about $300.00 and presented it to my mother in law.  even though she was dying she pooh poohed the idea as not being safe.  it sat in her house for about three months until she began to really sick.  at that point she started on the regimen and followed the program with precision.  she is still here today at eighty-two years of age being a pain in my bellybutton every time she sees me.

I had forgotten about this but was reminded of it by my wife as she overheard me talking to a squaddy who is going through a similar experience with his wife.

you may want to check this out as a final option prior to death.

all the best to you and your family.

As it stands, the tumour is not malignant, and it is just pressing on her optic nerve or something or other.  She has begun her medication to shrink it(funny...she has 4 pills for an entire month)  she has to break them in halfs basically ending up taking 1 full pill a week.  Other than that she is in full B____ mode :) and i need to get some kind of sleep if I'm taking a motorcycle ride today. ( And I still have to cut the grass)  Sure that there are some risks and side effects by taking the medicine, but the doc's want to see if it can be shrunk, if not...then they will go to surgery.  They just don't want to risk missing some microspocic piece and have it come back.  Again, Thank You all. <>
