Well, my old AMD Skt754 / AGP machine died. So i've replaced with a core2 duo system Gigabyte 965GM-DS2 with 2 Gigs DDR2-800 and a PCI-E X9150Pro card. The cpu is a cheapy for now - E4500.
What is the best driver to run for the X1950pro for Aces High (this is really the only 3D game i play)
-
Not an answer, sorry. A question though, did you get one card to two?
I got two, but they didn't have the cross fire bridges. Waiting for them now.
-
Just the one card.
-
Anyone?
-
Have you given the NGO drivers a try?
-
The NGO drivers?
-
Try 4.12, spatula.
-
4.12 is for older cards (like the 9600). I would bet you dollars to donuts that the newer drivers have more built in code made specifically for the newer cards.

are you agreeing with Rolex to try the older 4.12 driver then?

I tried the NGO 1.7.3 drivers, and i get a significant FR increase, but i get the funny black-out transition that the ATI catalyst 7.8 drivers fixed.
here's the funny black-out:

It wont let me install the 4.12 drivers saying it cant find compatible hardware.
-
Nah, I was saying "don't" use 4.12. It's too old.
Well, what about the drivers that came with the card? Any problems with them? If no problems, use them for now.

Think i've cracked it. I downloaded and installed the NGO 7.2 drivers, and we get good frame rates, and no odd effects or graphical defects. Think i'll keep em :)
Now just gotta solve my other random lock solid issue...
