Title: In Game Discussions

Ok last night some of you may have witnessed a convo on country channel between myself and several other players. It started with my defense of Mike Vick and by the time it ended I was a 'Pro muslim extremist'. Not really but close.

If I were you'd I'd send an email to HTC instead of "trying to resolve it" here.   This will be locked by sundown.

BTW, there is no "Defending Michael Vick".   He changed his plea from "not guilty" to "guilty".  Getting upset at an athlete is pointless IMO.

I'd delete the thread and send the email if you wish to continue.

stop having conversations on the country chat channel, it's annoying.  Take it to a private channel if you want to gossip.

Political discussions have no place in a dogfight?

Wait! Was that a play on words?

Dogfighting pets has no place in modern society nor an aerial dogfight.

Does that make sense? If not, how about "people come here to escape the realities of how messed up the USA has become and not to discuss it a nauseum in the air".

Your statement shows you have yet to figure that out. It also shows you have no idea what this particular forum is used for. You might have chosen the O'Club forum to discuss it. Why not copy, delete and paste it over there?

Ok I wasnt finished. I forget who it was but there was a flyer that condems the torture of dogs by Mike Vick yet endorses the torture of humans in Gitmo. This is disturbing to me. Some also typed that Islam is a religion of hate and violence. I was blasted by several players for refuting this ignorant statement. I know the AH skies are filled with Ex military guys, but I think it is short on religious scholars. Skinard actually claimed to know the whole Qu'ran and still claimed the religion is one of violence. This is like saying the looney catholics that shoot abotion doctors make Christianity a religion of hate. I say think about this. What if the state of Texas was taken over by a bunch of people who wished only to exploit it? Would the good citizens of Dallas or Houston stand by while their country was ravaged? Would the lifelong members of the military stand idly by? No, they would become what we now call insurgents. Please consider that one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. Try to see things from more than just an American point of view. For the record, I am also an ex mil man, having been honorably discharged from the Army. Served in a combat infantry unit some of you may have heard of, 82nd ABN, 3/504 PIR commanded by then Big Bird Col. David Petreaus. I am not anti american, I am a citizen that believes our behavior over the last several years on the world stage has been anti American and pro corporation. Alot of people have made alot of money off of this war and it isn't me or anyone replying to this post. I wish not to offend any ardent patriots out there, I only wish to refute the ignorance that I saw and experienced. This may make me an unpopular guy, but doing and saying the right thing can do that sometimes. See history on Ghandi and Dr. King. That is all for now. I look forward to the replies.

What's the point of your post, Bolo? Unless you're a 25 watt bulb you must have known that such a conversation on ch 200 would provoke passionate replies. Bringing the same topic to General Discussion only serves the same purpose.

Use some common sense.

Ok, with the current stae of affairs, why is the FBI investigating dog fighting? Why not the state agency? or local county? I never got upset at the athlete, only at the way in which it was handled. If Mike Vick wasn't Mike Vick, the feds never touch this. Hi profile publicity. I rather they be looking for people learning to fly jets without learning to land them and paying cash for flying lessons.

I can't stop looking.

I also can't fathom for the life of me how one flies around trying to shoot down bad guys and has time enough to have a chat on country channel about politics or religion or whatever you were chatting about.  In fact, I can't figure out the mindset that would prompt one to have such a conversation.

I must have you squelched or something.

But I'm helpful if nothing else.  You might find these more to your liking:

http://www.politicsforumpoliticalworld.com/religion-philosophy-political-philosophy/

http://www.democracyforums.com/

discussionati.com/

http://www.theworldforum.org/

or you can do what I did and just google, "religious and political forums".

Funny, Aces High didn't pop up on that search.

Or is all your interested in is Trolling....Did you know there are rules against trolling? Do you care about rules? Do you care about anything? Didn't the Army teach you anything about rules or did you spend your duty time in jail?

You're not the only one that was in the military and in a shooting war. Others have opinions about what is happening with who but don't spend their time ruining the fun others are having by bringing to the arena or this forum.

Have enough dignity to take this where it belongs.

Because there was interstate travel and possible money laundring/racketeering involved.  That's why the FEDs took the reins rather than the state/local boys.

Like any and all political discussions, in the first few minutes, it's devolved into 'FU' and 'KMA', and no one has successfully forced their opinion onto someone else.

Gee, what a shocker.

Opinions on politics are like *******s. Everyone's got one, but you really aren't interested in those belonging to other people, unless they're hot.

Well, for one thing I don't read the O'Club boards because I'm interested in this game and what's happening with the folks here. Not politics. If I want to talk politics I go away from this game to do so. I play AH2 here as do the other folks. I enjoy flying around in the virtual sky's of AH2. Others feel the same and pay good money to get away from things like Mike Vick and have an enjoyable evening with friends in a game.

I responded to this thread and suggested you take it to the O'Club and reasons why. I did it while you had time to remove it from this forum. You are the one who chose to keep it here and you also chose to expound on it with your trying to make yourself sound like the all american boy. Guess what, bud. yer not the only all american boy who's been in the military and all that crap. I missed your reply that you copied and pasted it to the O'Club because I was typing a response as Im doing now. Again I ask, why didn't you remove it completely.

Attack you? Just as you don't seem to notice the difference between what a troll is you need to understand my response was only designed to have you move the thread to the O'Club, nothing more.

You attacked half the arena but interfering with their game play when all they wanted to do was get up and half some fun. You then did again right here by whining when they responded to you and your opinion. I hate to say it but no one gives a damn about yours or my opinion in the main arena unless it's how they can do something better in the game to enhance their fun. That's why my opinions stay related to this game when I'm here.

Are you beginning to understand how much value what you did in the arena last night and the troll here actually has? I hope so cause you're prolly a nice guy that really wants to enjoy the game. That being the case why not ask Betty if she'll sit on your lap and get up in the air and fly some. I'll bet Betty and her Chihuahua Pepe, will say no though :D

I did not remove it completely because I don't know how. I am the farthest thing from an all american boy that you can think of. Title: In Game Discussions

In a land far, far, far away there used to be a guy with the call sign "Doc Gonzo". His idea of gameplay was to foster the "HATE". Except his "HATE" was joshing on folks to see if he could get em all riled up. When they got riled up they got shot down cause they couldn't think straight.  He had a lot of fun with it and even had a website dedicated to it. It may even still be out there. Do a google on it.  It was pure BS and he meant no personal attacks on anyone.

The point is he didn't talk politics he talked yer steeeenkin gameplay. He did tried to get you goin at every occasion.

Want me to be honest about politics? Once, a long time ago in another squad... Damn, do I like saying that or sumtim? Our squad started talking politics and who shud be in what office, etc. It almost broke up the squad. We ended up making a separate board for that crap. Most folks stayed away and life got back to normal. Now I'm talking about guys that have been friends for 10 years +.

Ok, there's no place for that in a game. No matter what side yer on folks leave that stuff behind and come and enjoy a few hours of dying by my guns, unencombered by RL. Did I say my guns? :O Sorry, I meant to say get up and fly. :)  People also get angry. Most of the time it's at themselves but they instead take it out on some poor dude in the game. Either by whining or cussing. The old timers hear it and ignore it but there's not much place for it in the air as it sets a bad example for kiddies that come to play.

If you just think about what yer gonna say then say to yerself, "what does this have to do with my gameplay here and now?" the odds are you're not gonna type or say something stoopid. Your gonna get over it and be all the better for it and everyone will have a better night. However, if you say something stoopid your audience in this game is more than willing to pounce on it and spend the next hour giving you BS. The next time you plan to cuss go ahead just don't key the mic. You got it off yer chest and can now continue to have fun. I also already said, no one here cares about your or my opinion about some dude in Alanta. They have their own opinion and your not doing anything to change it other than to troll.

As far as my hearing crap on chl? Trainers do the bidding of HTC in the arenas they are assigned to. We do not act as a mod in other arenas. If we get those marching orders then plan on not hearing it when one is around as you won't hear it in the TA. On private Squad I could care less what one squadie says to another. They establish their own rules of etiquette and no one else can hear em.

As far as yer cussing me? Big deal. It doesn't bother me. You got mad and answered the way you know how. You might spend that second and think about what you say cause it only reflects on you.

If you show up in the TA for help. I'll help you. That's why I'm there. Get outa line and I'm there to. But to do nothing more than ask you get back into the game with the rest of the folks.

Hmmm... I don't get any of this.

How did a discussion of Michael Vick turn into a religous/political debate?  Whats wrong with discussing Michael Vick or anything else over country or ch200?

Hubs and I chatted briefly about Micheal Vick the other night on 200 which turned from a conversation about Michael Vick to one about dog fights to one about cat fights to one about purse fights to one about wet t-shirt cat fights and petting.  Seems like normal harmless 200 banter to me (although it could as easily been over country channel).  That's all just part of the social aspect of the game.

Sure people get steamed and maybe go over the top occasionally.  The recipe (big ego's, high adrenaline) is ripe for it.  If you feel that happening just take a short break, cool off and come back.

And then of course there are those antagonists who are trying to push you over the edge just to see if they can.  It's your choice and yours alone to play along or ignore them.

First off let me be one to say, we need to clean up our own **** here in our country before we look elsewhere to make other folks lives better.

Honestly, leave the rest of the world alone, we have our own serious issues within our own borders to tend to.

I do love how board Nazis pop up and try to tell people what they should be able to post and what they should not be able to post.  I thought that was the job of the mods.

My mistake.

If you dont have anything constructive to add to a post, dont read it, and surely dont reply to it.

Some of you guys need to take a step back and think for a minute.  You dont look tough or smart or cool by acting like jack tulips on the internet.

You just look like a wanna be tough guy with an inferiority complex.

I love all the pro Americans on this board who think they have the right to tell people what they should be able to say.  You have a right not to listen.

Nothing to see here, move along.

:O

A. All the Trains passing through Grand Central Station?

or

B. All the trees cut down to make the paper that U.S. Currency is printed on?

Yes...call it Hijacking a thread....if you can't calmly discuss something without descendINg into viciousness....it needs hijacking.

Besides the fact that I wholeheartedly agree that this is no place for political discussions, may I say that the one, true beautiful thing about the USA is if you do not like it, you are FREE TO LEAVE.  I, also had the honor of wearing the red (and black) beret back in the day.  If you want to leave, I have a few buddies still on active duty that would be more than accommodating in showing you the door.

It needs to die a quick death, is what.

I was gonna venture a guess as to a PNG, but that really depends' on Skuzzy's mood...

:O

Ya see , there is however a time and place for everything. Country channel and general discussion isn't the place for it.  In game you want to have a political round table with your squad go for it. Hell take it to 200 at least people can detune. But until we get a perma-squelch list keep it off country, we all don't need to have to squelch the troll and all the people who feed him.

Now on the bbs this should have been an O'club discussion. No , this is a general discussion about "GAME" subjects. Since bolo6 felt the need to make a 2 threads about this, (one here and one in the O'club) he is nothing but a troll.

Skuzzy will probably combine this and the O'club thread. So this little attention potato doesn't get as much.

Again, let the mods do their job, if you dont want to be a part of the discussion; then dont be a part of it.

Its the job of the mods to decide what is appropriate on the board (and on the text channels) no body elses.

Liberals are all members of the lower half of the IQ range.
The peace loving religion of Islam is anything but.
Political correctness is torture.
This thread belongs in the OC.

This thread is proof that anyone who insists on discussing politics in a game should be neutered.

Bronk read the post by stockli please. And for that matter, read the whole thread. You obviosly missed the part where I said it is not deleted because I don't know how to delete a post. Look at my post history, not very active for an "attention potato". You did not contribute anything constructive either here or in the Oclub thread. Your post has no point and it was as much a waste of your time writing it as it was of mine reading and replying.
But thanks for the attempt, try again next time buddy.

Well "buddy" I have no interest in the topic, other than the fact it shouldn't have been posted here. So I commented on the only thing I had interest in, your lack of etiquette.
So In closing, cram it.
