Title: question
Post by: Oogly50 on August 24, 2007, 12:41:47 PM
Is there a way to download videos off of youtube, and put them into a folder... so that you can use window movie maker to make a video out of them.

For example...  I want to mix a halo 2 trailer with some family guy clips...  It'll be really cool when it's finished.

However... I just want the AUDIO from the halo 2 video, and the VIDEO from the family guy stuff...  would I be able to do that on windows movie maker?

also...  When I go and search for music...  Here's what I do, and it doesn't work.

Windows Movie Maker > Import Audio or Music > iTunes > iTunes music > Band > Album >  THEN NOTHING APPEARS.  EEEK!

I know there's a firefox extension that allows you to d/l youtube clips.

You will need a .flv player to view then.

So THAT means you need a.flv converter to make the .flv and .avi or .wmv etc...

It's possible, but it's somewhat a pain.

not sure movie maker will allow you to get to the audio file.  I know you can add voice over, but not sure it present a video and audio for the same clip as separate files.

I use the FireFox plug in to get videos, that part is really easy. You will also need a player, and I would recommend you get Whimpy (it's free) here is the link for that. (There are other free players, but the ones I tried, didn't allow me to re-size the picture, but Whimpy does)

I have never converted these, so I can't give you any advice on that.
