This dumbarse kid decides to hack the phone and post his instructions on his blog and then says that he hopes that some one doesn't start using the way it was done to sell the phones for overseas usage....What a friggin, stupid prettythang

The hack, which Hotz posted Thursday to his blog, is complicated and requires skill with both soldering and software. It takes about two hours to perform.
Since the details are public, it seems likely that a small industry may spring up to buy U.S. iPhones, unlock them and send them overseas.
“That’s exactly, like, what I don’t want,” Hotz said. “I don’t want people making money off this.”

Anything can be hacked. It just requires the proper procedure. I used to buy "Export Only" 10Meter radios that with the right tech could become massive 10 & 11 Meter radios. Truckers bought them like hotcakes.

Ideology requires two to tango.

Lol someone would actually have to want one before they could make money out of it.
I can't see what the big deal about it is. They restricted the sales to US because in Europe people use Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung etc. who all have competing products that offer double the functionality for the same price.

Just buy the Iclone.

LOL Everything can be hacked it seems. I remember someone who chipped 'pay as you go' cellphones. When you ran out of credit you simply switched it off and on and presto! it was back in credit.
Sadly, the authorities took a dim view and arrested him:eek: I always wanted one of those phones.

Reschke, why is he a dumbaz kid?

why is he a dumbaz kid?
Maybe becuase he spent 5 months of his life working on something that is not going to earn him one cent.... or maybe becuase he's quoted as saying he doesn't want anyone else to make money yet by placing the instructions out on the interent has done just that...
This kid probably hasn't kissed a girl or has been out on a date since he was born and found a way to get some attention....
-
Some norwegian guy just "hacked away" the simcard block thingy using software alone so now you can use it here too if you can get your hand on some old simcards. Doesnt work with the new cards yet for some reason.

Thats why he is a DA and a hypocrite.

Not going to earn him one cent?!?!
$16,000 on ebay with 6 days to go (http://www.kron.com/Global/category.asp?C=84890&nav=menu130_2)
But since he had problems with ebay:
Terry Daidone, the founder of Certicell contacted me this morning, and offered to make a trade for the iPhone. I traded it for a sweet Nissan 350Z and 3 8GB iPhones. I will be sending the iPhones, unlocked if they wish, to jpetrie(the first donater), gray(the reversing genius), and iProof(who is truly amazing at finding stuff online) Thanks a lot everyone. I leave for college tomorrow, and this has been a great end to a great summer. If I ever do anything more with the iPhone, it'll definitely be posted here. Also I contacted iphonesimfree and offered to verify on this blog their claims of a software unlock. No response yet...
