The stuff that these guys reveled was probably classified by the Iraq government , therefor they need to be prosecuted.

Most of them worked for US companies or for the US govt and reported the issues. Only one of them worked for an Iraqi company. The corruption is just as bad on the US side as it is on the Iraqi side.

Whistle blowers have always paid the price for blowing the whistle on stuff. It isn't right by any means.....just the way it is and has been. Should that change? Yes.

Not blaming anyone, just a general observation...

It's amazing how this country has changed so that companies now run everything and get away with anything.  Lawsuits are brought against the alleged swindlers, and they just dissolve away.  Happens in Iraq, happens here at home, happens with both Donkeys and Elephants.

A modern version of Lincoln's Gettysburg address would conclude:

"...a government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations shall not perish from this earth."

While laz is right about gov't running healthcare, sad thing is, the future of company run healthcare doesn't look too bright either.

This is from the link article at msnbc.com.

He had thought he was doing a good and noble thing when he started telling the FBI about the guns and the land mines and the rocket-launchers — all of them being sold for cash, no receipts necessary, he said. He told a federal agent the buyers were Iraqi insurgents, American soldiers, State Department workers, and Iraqi embassy and ministry employees.

Steering this back on track...

Selling to American Soldiers, State Department workers, and MAYBE Iraqui embassy and ministry employees...Ok.

But to insurgents??? Have you guys' forgotten that american soldiers are over there, having to face this crap every day? Healthcare for citizens' is the last thing on an insurgents' mind, guys.

American soldiers are dying because of this ****.

This is actual treason. Whoever is responsible for the sales' should have to stand tall before the man.

bigger government.
vast amounts of over spending.
rights diminished.
closed door secretive government that doesn't trust it's people.
corporate interests overtaking the peoples interests.

that's which way weve gone.

I don't know about the weapons but I wonder what part of the boat that was...cool pic. I had to go back to it a dozen times since yesterday before it struck me the way it did the last time. It actually works better small than full page, you don't get distracted by all the details.

The only visual clue was the wiring harness coming through the wood pannel. It looked like something you'd find on a boat, a small boat.  I did boats for a few years, bass boats. Built up two of them and worked on a few of my friends boats.

I just knew it was part of a boat.  It felt like it.

And... he is correct.    It started with FDR mainly... LBJ gave it a giant boot and then the klinton machine got it really going... now.. the republicans are getting into the game with patriot act and that sort of thing.

I guess it is just the price we have to pay... We get the government we deserve.. and a bunch of whiny socialists wanting bigger and bigger government are gonna get their way no matter what party is in power.

Different flavor to lost rights with each power but no party restores what the other took... not in any meaningful way.. they just add their own version of diminished rights.

All the while we sit and smugly give more and more power to them because... that year... it is "our" guy... never realizing the next guy will use it to bite us in the butt.

We smugly vote and/or condone rights being taken from others because we don't care about that right or.... we just don't like that "type" or... we think we can save money by nannying a group... or.. we are just the type who like to tell people what they can't do.

And the government is more than happy to oblige... to take the power.
