I don't like the reality shows (never have watched them until saw one today). I think the entire idea of displaying folks like that is just obnoxious.
Anyhow, with that said, I watched a reality show today which seemed okay ~ designer star or something like that (hgtv). was mildly interesting, and didn't seem to have all the drama that you hear about. At least there was a purpose to the show ~ sane goals to be met, etc.
So, which reality show do you watch ~ and are they as dweeby as made to sound in the tabloidish reports?
*edit* "never watched them until saw one today:" actually, I've watched the fishing boat show, the ice trucker show & a couple of the car make-over shows... but don't lump them in w/the other reality shows.

America's top model used to be mildly entertaining until Tyra-whatshername figured out she was coming across as a total airhead and up'd her game (now she only comes across as an airhead half the time).
The series reached its height at the model-fainting episode. During the end sum up one of the bag-of-bones passes out, no one tries to catch her and they all stand around screaming 'oh my god' (no one goes to help her).

To begin with I don't watch much tv at all. When I do it is generally the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, or one that is broadcasting an auto race.
I abhore the premise and execution of reality shows. I have enough problems of my own that I don't really need or want to see a soap opera version of someone else's.
I like comedy, romance, and action movies and will rent one or watch one if it is available on tv. I want to be distracted and entertained. Not reminded of how dreary life can be.
I will say this, I have a great life, my problems are really minor compared to those that have real problems. I have just been blessed with a great wife (just got married on the 3rd) and a great extended family. Life is good, better than I deserve. Why ruin it with a reality show that really isn't all that real?

The best reality show isnt on TV at all.
Just sit around and observe people in the world around you
You will be astounded and amused at the things people do in simple everyday life

Pretty much all reality TV blows.. about the only ones I like are Dangerous Catch and maybe the man vs wild or survival man. However I don't really concider those the typical "reality TV" stuff.

i like survivor man too. it's the only one that i watch. it's really a terrific program.
otherwise, im not at all a fan of reality television.

I abhor all so called 'reality' television. By its very nature, putting people in front of cameras places them in a very unnatural environment.
The dumbing down of television over here is extremely disappointing, especially as the BBC is funded by us - Joe Public. We seem to be obsessed with the cult of celebrity - being famous for being famous, no talent required, and thats just the presenters!
Its very lazy and cheap programming, decent dramas and documentaries cost money which is obviously being paid in inflated salaries to the neo-morons who present this drivel.
Rant over, I feel a bit better now :-)

I cant believe people actually watch that reality crap thats on tv. I tried to watch one, and it was so retarded I just turned it off.
Television today is in a pretty sad state if thats what people like for entertainment

TV reality shows are not about reality. A show about real life would be very boring.

I guess something needed to take the place of soap operas...
I have seen a few minutes of a few of em... they are like a combination soap opera and big time wrestling... lots of teary eyed drama and fakery.
