I saw these last night on Feasting on Asphalt (Alton Brown, driving across the country and eating only at local eateries) and was intrigued:

The idea is basically to take a jar of pickles, slice 'em in half, empty out half the brine, then refill it with double strength Kool-Aid & sugar. You let them sit for a week or so, and they taste sour and sweet at the same time. I'm going to whip together a batch today and hopefully be trying them out in a week or so.
Has anyone here tasted these? Yay? Nay? Eww? :D

I'll go with Ewwwww.
Pickles are just gross to begin with.
-
Don not slice the pickles in half. Leave them whole.
-
Sweet pickles bad.
Unmolested dill pickles good.

it is all in the marketing.
some dudes put nasty in a can and called it red bull and it sells.
among other nasty so called power drinks.
1st and only time I ever tasted that crap, I spewed it out and tossed the full can in the trash.
yall are insane for drinking stuff that tastes like a toilet smells.
kind of like that cheese that is aged for several years in a cave, it tastes like toenail fungi smells. just plain nasty.
and why didn't you post this in http://forums.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=210686
be a good one for kids to try.

I am going to invent a new power drink. Its called "Speedy Choc"
The "Choc" is short for Chocolate laxitives.
Its guaranteed to give you a boost of energy.........because you will be running like hell to find the nearest toilet :rofl

I'll stick with Bread and Butter and Dill..... pickles aren't supposed to taste like a popular kids drink.

Pickles that will make you sweat...
Add to one jar of Dill pickles:
Finely chopped habeneros.
Finely chopped garlic.
Whole package of crushed red peppers.
1-3 teaspoons of Dave's Insanity Sauce.
Let it sit in the fridge for a few days.
Dang, just sweating thinking about it!

Ya think?
I do like several kinds of cheeses. just that one I had, just don't see how anyone can stand it. My Mom does like it. told her to bite my toenails, it should taste the same. Dad was rolling laughing when I said that one. he doesn't like it either.
can't remember offhand what kind it or the name of it. it was texture kind of like cheddar. color pale yellow greenish looking. maybe a real light brown.
LOL @ Meathead good idea, go for it err mean Meatwad :rofl

Okeedokee, mixed up a batch tonight. They're in the fridge for the next week or so. Used fruit punch as the flavor, mixed 4x strength w/ a half bottle of brine.
Of interest, I added the leftover brine to the leftover koolaid and added water to bring it up to normal concentration, and it tasted not bad. Hmmm...
