Although there were times when he thought he might die after his light plane crashed in the Southern Alps, Richard Bateman undertook an agonising eight-kilometre walk through rugged country to raise the alarm.
The 27-year-old flight instructor got out his survival kit, taped his scalp back on, and set out to get help for himself and his student, pilot Nick Eagleson.

I remember a guy from Florida that had to tape his head back on before he could get help for him and the 227 people on his plane.
