Take two of the one I started 4months ago, and droped. Still some nicknacks to fix on the top anti-glare, as well as guns/prop hub color.
France had the chance to get back in the war by getting their hand on US war weary P47s. Mostly used for ground attack, flying several missions a day, many were lost to AAA.
I forgot about lowering to 256 colors, took a hit in quality there. If someone has a better program than PSP-XI to lower colors, let me know. I eard Gimp pretty good, but installation fails on my laptop.

Good work:aok

The O.D. on the wings looks really nice--nice fade effect. IMO, the fuselage almost looks too grungy. Maybe tone that effect down a bit. Also, don't forget the shading to represent the intercooler doors being open (if you want to add a nice detail).

Good points Stoney. I might take an another crack at the aged alluminum effect, and try to make an illusion thinging for the Intercooler doors open ... since they are always open in AH.

OD looks great Frenchy, very nice job.

Following Stoney's advise, here's the version I'll ship. I did have a French P47 that looked all "Grungy", probably since it was a winter picture, but it looks better in the game "cleaner".
I've been flying Rodergee's French P47 ... now I have my own

and this one showing the "P47 canopy bug".

Is there a photo you are working of off Frenchy? Does it show OD wings?
The top of the fuselage anti-glare extending to the tail was standard for bubble top just but didn't include camo upper surfaces.
I also note you have unpainted horizontal tails to go with OD wings.
Just curious :)

Gruppy, paint jobs of French P47s at the end of the war were as standard as the ones of the 56FG after they decided not to transition to P51s :D Evrey unit was doing his own thing.
This one was the squadron's commander personal plane, which I'm sure was even allowed more liberty with the paintjob. Mai 1945, Colamar France. I do not have an actual picture, just the profiles and the description.
