Title: Bomber gun convergence
Post by: RSLQK186 on September 02, 2007, 07:06:47 AM
What is the convergence of gunner position guns? For a pair in one position and Fire All. I used to know these things. but now if I don't write it down it goes byebye:(

I believe the convergence for gunners is 600 yards.  I'm usually wrong though.  Think I heard it at a party.

i had always been told they converged at 600 yards....but.......the other night, i was shooting at a p38 that had planted himslef nice and stationary on my 6 low, and he was well within 600..i think about 400 yards......i was firing from the lead ship, and was watching the tracers from the drones crosing paths, and hitting the engines...so the left drone was hitting right engine, right drone was hitting left engine........but this was in JU88's, with only .30 cals...they might be set kinda close. i do know i saw no option to change that.

hope this helps a bit.

Well wf he was at icon range D400 he could have actually been down to 300yds away only. That would be half way between you and your point of convergence.
Even at "true" 400yds distance, the dispersion would be big enough for such an effect.
