Title: Stat padding
Post by: Vulcan on September 02, 2007, 06:27:24 PM
Is there any way to find a shooters most prolific victim? Was watching a jug kill B-17s that didn't fire back in the LW arena last night. Unfortunately every time I showed up the bombers moved to take off from a different field.  I'm just curious :)

Next time Alt-R it. Review the film find out who the players were. Then go into the score section of the HTC web page and go to kills stats in expanded format. Type in the players two names and see how many times they have killed each other and in what plane.

I don't think it's the same guy but I just sorta stumbled upon something interesting in the stat pages the other day.  If anyone wants a witch to burn check the stats for Wilby.

What exactly is out of the ordinary about his stats?

Compare his stats from the last 2 tours vs. all previous paying special attention to K/T, K/S and gunnery.  Also have a look at what he kills the most.  Either he's really lucky at finding buffs, M3's, and PT's, and got a lot better to boot. Or he's padding.

Don't know anything about this specific incident, but If you spend part of your time in the EW arena you can rack up obscene amounts of M3 kills in very short time. If flying for the outnumbered side, you can find yourself being the lone defender of a town vs a dozen GV's.

Got 61 M3 kills that way last tour, and this one 16 already...

Good point Lusche...
I love going in there and spoiling the fun for the guys trying for the 500+ base capture crap.  I can think of a 's.o.a.r.ing' squad that does that..... :noid

My advice, don't worry about it.  What's the prize for #1 these days?

i don't see how you manage to get any of the soaring guys....they all seem to run to undefended bases, or even to another arena as soon as they encounter resistance

They sneak base captures.... I sneak in and kill.....  :noid

But your right, when they encounter resistance they tend to run.

80:3 k/d ratio, including 20-30 B17s that weren't firing back, and he always seemed to find them low on the deck (he landed a pile of em in a kill streak too).

Stealing bases in EW, just like preventing it.

When I was more active, it became mano a mano, on a personal basis, and fun to try to steal or prevent a steal from a few guys.

As far as Wilby goes, I think he used to be good..   Maybe he's not slamming a second account.

My ones not wilby, someone beginning with R, my guess is they're in the top ranks now. If you look at his score his mixed up killing stuff with GV's as well, obviously to get his ratios up across everything :)

So, you guys are going on a witch hunt because a couple of people got good camps going early in the tour?

Hilarious!  :rofl

Nah I was flying in the MA and noticed this guy killing b17 formations that didn't bomb or shoot back. Thought it twas a bit wierd. And if it is padding its a bit sad.

Bucky, I'd advise getting back on the ritalin son :)

My point is.....you shouldn't give a rats butt. It's their $'s and if he gets his kicks from doing stupid stuff to get his ever SOOO important virtual score up then so what??

It sure would be a fun time in this game if they got rid of "scores" all together.

Whats it good for?? As far as i can tell...the most use i get out of it is to print it out and whipe my behind with it when i'm low on the TP:aok

I don't give a rats backside about my score in the MA's. But I do enjoy exposing those that are so concerned they pad their stats with a 2nd account :)

actually, i think the only thing another pilot in ANY of the arenas can do to really piss me off, and spoil fun, is the old cable pulling trick. if you wanna pad ur scores by opening a second account, and pay hitech twice......more power to ya.......it'll actually benifit me in the long run as it'll just give hitech more money to use towards improving our sim experience here. cable pulling.....well...i think these guys need to be hung by their very sensitive(and obviously very small) parts and taunted:D :rofl :rofl

maybe slapped around a bit.........

but anyway, that's my 2 cents
