A list of Italian bombers I think should be added to AH sometime in the near future to increase the axis bomber strenght and Italian list of planes to fly. Please post your thoughts on these three bombers.
Italy
Cant Z. 1007
(http://www.finn.it/regia/immagini/cantz/cant_z1007bis_191sq_86gr_35st_bt_grecia.jpg)
Crew: 5
Powerplant: Three 1000hp Piaggio P.XI R2C.40 14-cylinder radial engines
Performance: max speed 290mph; range 1087 miles; service ceiling 26,900ft
Weight: 30,029Ibs loaded
Armament: two 0.50in and two 0.303in machine guns; internal bomb load of 2646Ibs
Reason: Used widely by the Italians, and would make a good EW, MW light bomber with alright speed.
Piaggio P.108
(http://digilander.libero.it/avantisavoiait/P108_in_volo_3.JPG)
Crew: 6
Powerplant: Four 1350hp Piaggio P.XII RC35 18-cylinder radial engines
Performance: max speed 261mph; range 2190 miles; service ceiling 26,410ft
Weight: 65,970Ibs loaded
Armament: eight 0.50in Breda-SAFAT machine guns; up to 7,700Ibs of bombs or three torpedoes.
Reason: The P.108 would give the axis and Italians a heavy four engine bomber with 8 .50cal guns for defense and a large bomb load.
Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero

Crew:5
Powerplant: Three 1000hp Piaggio P.XI RC 40 radial engines
Performance: max speed 270mph; range 1181 miles; service ceiling 21,325ft
Weight: 24,912Ibs loaded
Armament: three 0.50in and one 0.303 machine guns; two 450mm (17.7in) torpedoes or 2756Ibs of bombs
Reason: One of the most famous bombers and most used bomber of the Italian Air Force. Most asked Italian bomber.

I would love to see the Piaggio P.108, the Axis is in serious need of a heavy 4 engined bomber. The Ju's aren't holding when it comes to large scale bombing missions. Not to mention the list of Italian planes is lacking extremly. I don't see it out-ranking the B-17 in popularity, but when it comes time for the events, this could really make a difference. Although the other two are fine as well, my vote is with the Piaggio.

You know I'm all for it:aok

I'd like to see this the most, just because of it's design.

How about 2 more Italian fighters and an Italian bomber?
Most Italian bombers seemed to be near obselence or obselete.
-
why more bombers,Just more bait for the fighters.I agree with PanzerIV,more Italian fighters.
-
I'd go for the Heavy bomber...Axis only have...what...1 heavy bomber? JU88

G.55 and the RE.2001?
-
Heavy bomber first, the 88 the only big euro bomber, and I would hardly put it in class with B17 or the likes. More axis needed, why add another model 38 or spit with almost no performance difference?

Those sound good.

The fighters would be good to like the G.55, Re2001 2005, and some of the early war models. If you think about it though we could use these three Italian bombers because the allies have alot more bombers than axis.
A20 (will bomber attacker)
B-17
B-24
B-25C/D
B-25H
B-26
Boston III
Lancaster
TBM
Thats 9 bombers all together with a few other Bomber/attackers
compared to the axis 3 bombers and a few other bomber/attackers
Ar-234
Ju88
Ki-67
Now look at this list the axis could have
Ar-234
CANT Z.1007
Do-17z
G4M
He-111
Ju-88
Ki-67
Piaggio P.108
SM.79
This list makes it even with the allied list and has a range of all axis bombers from Germany, Italy, and Japan.

you forgot the Stuka!

MMM, I love going on stuka raids. It takes virtual balls to pull of though, because a massed formation of stukas is a VERY tempting feast for foraging fighters.
But seriously, I would like the HE-111 before the Italian ones. But if the Axis getting more bombers means having them be Italian Im all for it.
Lastly, why is the Ju88 so under rated? It is not a bad bomber and can cary a respectable bomb load for its size. Even its three 7mm guns can put a hurting on an attacker if they are foolish to come dead 6 attacking.

You just answered the question yourself ;)

Piaggio P.108
Axis is woefully short on decent heavy bombers.
This one would be a nice representative of Italian style, and be useful to boot.
And 3 torpedo's, awesome!
-
I was reading about the Piaggio P.108 and there was a version I think the A model that had a 120mm anti-ship cannon on it but only 1 was built I think. Just think of that 120mm against the task groups!
The Ju88 is a very good bomber, its just that the gun coverage is pretty bad, and its more of a MW, LW bomber type. We need some EW, MW axis bombers which the Italians can fill up and so can germans.
