Title: "Use Recorded Views"
Post by: Laciner on September 06, 2007, 03:49:25 PM
I'm not sure if this is a post-patch issue, a long-standing bug, or an undocumented feature.

When I select "use recorded views" in the film viewer, and play the film, everything runs fine. I can see myself selecting the different views and looking around.

The problem is that if I double-click on an opponent's name, so that I can see things from his cockpit, the film viewer continues to use my own recorded views. I wondered why the opponents were looking everywhere except at me; I realised that although the viewpoint is from the other man's cockpit, the view directions are my own.

The film player's help file doesn't mention the "recorded views" button, and I can't find anything about this in the forums.

It has always been that way.

You never get that info at all during flight, so your recorder can't save it.

Imagine all the additional info about all opponent's views in your area - It would enourmously increase bandwith requirements & server loads.
