Just upgraded my cpu. Went from 3000+ to a 4200 X2 (for $78). Game is feels smoother, it's hard to describe the diff.
Anyway first I'd like to thank HTC for the BBS. This part of the BBS is a treasure trove of info. With the info searched out here, the swap went smooth as silk.
Second I'd like a few opinions on what will give me the next bang for the buck upgrade.
My 1gig of ram (add another gig) or the 6600gt pci-e vid card.

Whats your current video card?

Should have been more clear. The 6600gt pci-e vid card is my current card.

Upgrade your video card. Even if you get a 7900 GS, you could probalby double your FPS in other games (something released within the last year. Not so much in AH since your current rig probably handles it just fine.
Use the tomshardware VGA charts to help you gauge a performance idea. Granted the FPS shown on the charts won't be your actual FPS, but it will give you a performance idea.

^^^ Compares your current 6600gt to a 7900GS in the Dark Messiah game. You can compare a lot of other cards and a lot of other games.

I had 1.5 GB of RAM for a while before giving 512mb to my sister's PC. When I stepped down to 1GB I didn't notice hardly any difference in gameplay.
Thus, I say upgrade the video!
