Title: WB trial guy looking for a squad to wing with.
Post by: Badair on September 07, 2007, 11:50:47 PM
Howdy,

I fly in WB and came to AH looking for a better sim.  However I'm not a big fan of the lonewolf thing and was wondering if there was a squad that'd be interested in taking me in for a week or two, explaining stuff that's different than WB and generally keeping tabs of my 6 ;)  I generally fly the heavy iron stuff, mainly T-bolts and Lightnings.  Also, I already radio procedure, acm/formation doctrine etc... It's just the specifically AH stuff that I'd need a hand with.

P.S.  A little about me:

Mid twenties, speak english and a little french, live in southern Ontario in Canada, in the military, generally a nice guy.

Might as well leave now, you won't fit in here. ;)

Look me up some time, I'll show you (some of ) the ropes.

In your text buffer type,   .f sled

it will tell you were I am.

Also we have an Event in AH similar to S3. Did you fly in S3 in warbirds? It is called Friday Squad Operations (FSO).

If you are interested, send me an e-mail, or a PM.

Yes, I fly S3's regularly with 332nd FG, would definately be interested in those unless the boys are heading off to the pub, it is a Friday night after all.  No chance of getting that baby changed to a Sunday evening? ;)

Hey BA. I'll shoot you our TS info via PM here. We'll be flying tomorrow night at 7:30 EST (regular squad night) On the TS server you'll see the 78TH FG and the 4Th FG, they fly Jugs and Mustangs so I'm sure you'll find a group to hang with. Anywho, we provide a nice big formation of bait, and cons are always willing to show. :)

Another Warbirds convert eh?  Welcome to the grown up version of WB :D

You could do a whole lot worse than taking up Sled's offer...  USMC and 71 RAF have folks on practically 24/7.  Heck, most of 'em even have the training wheels off their planes now too. :lol

and enjoy.

Yup if your flying knight either the 71st or USMC is a good choice to tag along with. 71st Squad vox is 171...just dial it up and say hi.

OK now, what the difference between the knights, rooks and bishops.  Ppl seem pretty darn entrenched in em, more some that the green/red debates of warbirds.  Is there any actual diff between em like rooks are LW/IJN/IJA type and Knights are USMC and rooks are RAF etc... kinda thing?

Other than the Historical match ups, and in the Axis versus Allies (AvA) arenas they are all the same.

Badair

Welcome to the dark side.  You will find the skies much bluer on this side of the fence.

Tempting Daddog, I've enjoyed flying the mustangs and T-bolts quite a bit and that flashy red tail always looked good streaking in to clear my 6 but I've hooked up with VMF-441 for now.  Always loved CV ops and the F4U is another favorite of mine.  I'd be glad to wing with you guys though if you fly as knights, just look me up, GrimRpr is my ingame handle (not to be confused with GrmRpr please ;) ), .

:rofl  Well that explains my confusion a couple nights ago when I shot GRMRpr down only to see him RTB'ing to the field I had come from as GrImRpr.. :O   Totally whacked me out.
:rofl

Well congrats Badair on making the jump.
