Since I've ever known existance... I've always had an Orange cat in the house or outside. For almost 50 years now I can not remember a day without a tiger cat near.
Orange cats are a sense of good luck for me. Tiger cats... wicked hunters.
They are smarter than most cats... except Siamese. Yet they are so bonding to their Master.
I've raised Tiger Cats with Golden Retrievers and they bond.
Back to the thread.....
My outside Cat, Kiasson had populated the local Culd~de~Sac with three offspring... Mated with another Orange Cat. Of the three only one resembled his Father.... Me and my 9 Year old Son named him Sparky.
Now mind you this is the same kitten I tried to pick up that anchored his teeth and claws in me... the Momma Cat attacked me chewing my leg with neighbours laffin and the wifey later doing hissin sounds at me as she bandaged me up.
This morning as my 19 year old Daughter left for work in the rain backed over Sparky... Laid him flat while my 9 year old Son was waving goodbye to his Sister...
To die alone...in the rain.
We buried Sparky next to the pool. Flowers and a Prayer.
We are accepting contributions for the "Love Sparky" Foundation... Or the "Haveyoueverlovedadeadcat" Foundation.. please PM me for details.
Sparky we Love you and Heaven has a Great Kitty now.

He took it really hard!
Poor lil guy.
Nothing harder than a Father having to explain Death to a young Son.

Sorry about you cat, but I can just hear the explanation...
"Son, your sister hated lil ole Sparky..."
-
Naw LOL She took it hard too,,,,
She actually left work and came home... grabbed the shovel and helped dig the hole.
She was a bit upset also...
"Dad I don't want to be known as a Murderer."
It was just a tradgic accident.
We all decided that "Pop Pop", my Dad, needed a new kitten in Heaven.
He now has a Hampster, a Guniea Pig and a new Kitten...
Man I hope my Dad only talks to me in Prayers, otherwise it's gonna be a BIG DAM hole near the pool fer me.
Knowing the Ol Lady she'll just toss my arse in the pond and let the turtles feed on me... I've been watchin her....alot.
:O

Wish I woulda known this a week ago.
I just got rid of one of our cats. An Orange one in fact.
The last straw was when my wife went to take a shower in the morning. Put her towel on the vanity while she went back to the towel closet to get more soap and when she came back saw him squatting and peeing on her towel.
She she called to wake me up she said.
"The Orange cat is in the kitty carrier in the back of your truck. DONT come home with him."
Amazing how many places WONT take a cat.
And I did try.
In fact I tried at no less the 6 seperate places.
NOBODY would take him.
Finally at the last place I said. "Look.I dont eve like cats. If it were up to me I'd just toss him in the river and be done with it."
Hoping that would spur the lady into taking it just to save its life.
An arguement ensued
But nope. in the end. The place that specialises in pet adoption wouldnt take it either.
In the end. I did the only thing I could think of. I simply et it go about 5 miles from our house in a developmentwhere I was working that has alot of three things that are traditionally benifical for cats.
Very young children. And very old ladies.and woods teeming with small game.
Im not worried about it starving because it was one of the better hunters of the three.
Having several old ladies as customers I've noticeds they cant resist a stray.
And kids...Well if yo have kids you know how they are with found animals.
I figured
Worst case scenareo is he finds his way home again
Which wouldnt be unheard of. But then its my wifes problem.
Shouldnt have been my problem to begin with. I never wanted cats to start with.
But as usual. Her bright ideas end up being my headaches

Should've started a new thread with that line, that way I could have admitted it made me laugh.
Instead I have to ignore it and act like I didn't see it and express remorse to AWMac for the loss of a cat that brutally attacked him. :cry

with all the concern about global warming we should each look to do our very best to help. I think recycling is an admirable thing and the Mac family would now have sparky as a useful scratchy. there is nothing worse than a missed opportunity and that was clearly one.
