I know rugby is not big in the US & coverage is limited, but the Rugby world cup is the second biggest international team sporting event after the soccer world cup.
You guys should be proud of the US team's performance against England. We are the defending world champions, but the US team put us to shame in a game we won by a relatively small margin. The US showed everything we lacked - commitment, enthusiasm, a will to win and above all looked as if they were enjoying themselves. England however were lacklustre and average and the southern hemisphere teams will be laughing on the basis of this performance.
Credit to you guys and god help us if rugby takes off seriously in the US (which I hope it does).
Regards.

how big is the trophy? cause we only like big trophies in world competition. except for the tour de france. we had lance win that just to piss off the french.

Ahhh yes an american expert on sport... does rugby not qualify due to its lack of breaks every 10 seconds? or changing of the entire team every 5 minutes?
-
i just read a section in ESPN about the rugby world cup. its getting bigger in America every year.
never you mind talonX, he thinks anything but missionary is sodomy.

Poor old England....no second world cup victory for you this year.....
The Americans have been playing with a lot of spirit - so have the Canadians, but I can't see too much but sunlight when they meet the mighty tri-nations from the southern hemisphere....

Having just watched the Kiwi's slaughter Portugal, trophy is definitely headed to the Southern Hemisphere (again). Top tip for the final:
New Zealand v (take your pick) Australia or South Africa...(my money is on the Aussies, but you never know...)
As for England, 4 years in which to rebuild wasted, back to the drawing board. Talk about a 1 dimensional team, if they cant grind the forwards up, we've got nothing...........

Its depressing - all the Northern Hemisphere teams are absolute mince at the moment. South Africa, New Zealand and Australia must be rolling on the floor laughing their heads off.

Why are the last 4 not sports? Because you don't play them?

I played club rugby in college in the late '70's. As a former HS football lineman, I loved getting to carry the ball.
The home team provided a keg for after the game.
How can you say that's not a sport?
HONK!

Lacrosse is probably the most American of all the games you listed. It was played here long before the USA and Canada existed.

Not always, but then again hes not wearing several inches of padding, a helmet, or stops immediately after 10 seconds of play for a break :lol
