Hints:
It may or may not be a production aircraft.
It may or may not be American.
It may or may not be heavily modified.
You may or may not be a redneck if....Just kidding.

I think we could tell it was American, because on the vertical stab it has NASA on it.
Pretty cool delta wing looking F-16. Is this new design for an upgraded F-16 or just a test to see what the delta wing would have done?
-
this looks a a lot more aerodynamic than the eurofighter
-
It was just a test aircraft for NASA to use for research.

The latest and greatest F16 happens to be the F16I
(http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/f-16i/images/F16i_soufa_2.jpg)
it's a viper with a full boat of avionics (notice the back bone) and conformal fuel tanks.

This happens to be made by lockheed martin for Israel.

I think this was a test aircraft from about 1989 or 90? I'd have to look it up.

If you want to trick this community, you will have to do much better than that.
Try something more subtile like that, you might fool 1 or 2 before someone comes up with the right answer :

I'm prolly way off but guessing real quick since it's late, Super Entard? And I am using the honor system so if i'm wrong take points away from someone else :)
BTW, 1 Airforce I would never want to go up against is the IAF. They are some bad mama jamma's.

Some form of SAAB? Not the Gripen of course, but maybe an earlier aircraft? Its Israeli, yes, but I cannot shake the thought that thats a Saab of some kind...
-
this is non-military but still good. Hint IT's a supersonic airliner. No google please, it ruins the fun.

Something like a Lavi? Rats, didn't finish reading the thread. On the plus side I
got the ID right :)
I also like CBass's "Concordski" :D I saw a picture of a museum in Germany> with a Concorde and a Tu-144 on the roof facing each other.
-
Note : Looking at a website, they say the F16E is an XL single seater, and the F16F is an XL two seater.
-
Googled a picture of the Auto-Technik Museum in Sinsheim
(http://www.museum-sinsheim.de/highlights/tupolev/technik-museum_tupolev-concorde.jpg)
-
nice ... so what's on the picture?
Concorde, TU144, SU 22, Alphajet, Huey ... and Air France Iflyslow, like a convair maybe.
Nope, it's a Vicker Vicount, first passenger turboprop.:aok
-
The Convair's I've seen are twins..like the Convair 440 with radials and
the 800 series with turboprops. Here is a different angle...it looks like a
Bristol or Douglas product to me. Maybe a DC-6?
-
Vickers 701 Viscount ?
DC6 was piston not turb.
-
Ok..definitely not a DC-6..cockpit windows and the spinners are all wrong.
But check out this Bristol Brittania..definitely possible.

-
Looked too big to be a Viscount ever seen in person>. They used to have a couple come to Teterboro, NJ
when I worked there in the 80s. In fact, I remember a N150RC which we
claimed was Ray Charles's aircraft because only a blind man would have
approved that butt ugly paint job it wore :D
They used to fly rock bands around on them...one time I remember the pilot
claimed he had to be on oxygen due to the ganja smoke coming from the
cabin being so thick.
-
Funny story.
Cockpit windows do not match the Bristol but match the Vickers. The 10 side windows also match. My money on the Vickers :p
-
You know I think you are right :aok
I have to admit being weak on UK/French airliners. Most of the stuff I see is
Dassault Falcon series, and ex-BAE Hawker types, at least from your old side
of the Pond.
Bombardier and Gulfstream have been pretty dominant at Morristown for quite
a while now.
You guys did make some very pretty stuff back in the day :) The Viscount not
being one of them of course!
-
Ok, here is a good one. Without googling or checking the picture properties....
have at it!

I like this thread..here's a bird I modeled when I was at Moody AFB also back
in the 80s.
As an interesting aside, it was one of the first aircraft to have an ejection egress
system..for obvious reasons :D
-
Oh my ... an early Falcon ... Falcon 20? :D
-
More like it's Daddy :)

A real mystery so ;)
I had a doubt so I checked : SN-601 Corvette
I guess SN stand for Sud aviation/Nord aviation.

Man, how weird is this, was just telling AW MAC about this place in another thread. Everytime I took a trip to Germany I would make it there. One of the best museums I have ever been too.
And yes, I would slide down from the JU-52 :)
-
Wtg to both Frenchy and Klingan! Frenchy, I had a tough time IDing it
when I first saw it too.

Concordski, TU-44 I think w/o Google.
-
The letters CCCP on the wing kinda gave it away didn't they? it is a 144, not sure which model though.
-
See? I told ya I didn't google it. :D
-
You Yahooed it?:t
-
Nah, then I probably would have guessed it was the "Switch to Yahoo Messenger Now!" Tupolev "Have you refinanced your mortgage? Interest rates are climbing!" TU-"eBay.com - Find and sell stuff now"144.
