Fake tits? She flies.

I might toss her for being an idiot.  She's dressed to go clubbing, it's not appropriate for traveling.  I wouldn't want my daughter exposed to such sluttish attire.

Once upon a time I wuz on a plane from Amsterdam to Birmingham (GB) and had a the fortune to sit next to a stripper returning to Britain from Japan.

Her outfit wasn't that bad.  I've seen much worse at college.

Airlines along with news agency recommend wearing blue jeans and flame retardent clothing on flights.  Even with non-fatal crash landings, the interior of the cabin fills with flames.  Exposed skin will burn while covered skin may be undamaged.

I would rather see her outfit than some fat arse guy in a tank top and shorts returning from Florida.

She is dressed better than 80% of teenage girls these days.

I suppose that would only really have any meaning if your daughter was gay. Otherwise what would she really care about how another woman is dressed? AFAIK there is no regulation on specific attire for travel. Do you have a link to some travel regulation? Would you rather she be  required to wear a burka?

I looked at the outfit and wasn't all that concerned. I find it amusing it was a male flight attendant that threw the hissy fit over it. There is no mention of a passenger complaint. It couldn't possibly be a distraction to the pilots, they are behind locked doors with no window. Perhaps the attendant was upset because the passenger was prettier than he was.

From what I saw earlier about the incident all she wanted was an apology. I imagine it's gone significantly higher now that it's been national news. The attendant should figure his job prospects are limited and the airline will end up coughing up some cash over this.

I don't follow the logic.  When I was a kid the people that I aspired to be like were men, not women.  Do you think girls want to dress like Britney Spears or GI  Joe?  Why do you think that females are used to market to girls, certainly not because Madison Ave. thinks that all girls are gay.

I think this is an example of socialist thinking.  There doesn't have to be some government law or regulation dictating this.  A private company should be able to have whoever it wants on it's planes.  Surely you decide who you want on your own private property.  An airline that served my needs as traveler and a parent would be more likely to get my business and flourish.  If I am alone in wanting fellow travelers to have a degree of decorum than I would be **** out of luck.

Either any rules and regulations regarding who is on a plane, should be up the owners of the plane.

How was that outfit in any way bad at all?  I was expecting stilleto's, fishnet stockings and a corset.

Some people are way too repressed.  That guy's friends should worry about him.

A private should not have any laws protecting them from there own customers either.

Airlines are halfway part of the government,  What other non government Company can bring up federal charges against you..

Try suing an airline and see how far you get.

She was not pole Dancing on the airplane and was completely covered.   If she was wearing something that could get her arrested walking down the street that would be one thing.  But her outfit was fine..

Thrawn - if you worry about your daughter seeing that outfit, I predict her teenage years are going to be very long and very painful for you both.

Its 2007, not 1907.

Don't see much wrong with the outfit, as has been previously stated, I've seen worse at school.  I've heard that some if not all airlines have dress codes but "Keith" probably just hasn't had any in awhile.

Thrawn,

You really need to go visit a college campus sometime besides the dead of Winter in the frozen North. After that you ought to go visit a boutique or at least some clothing store more "hip" than good will. You will find that the current fashions exceed what you may have seen on britney and that some of them are in line with madonna.

My wife looked at the picture of the young lady that was hassled. She said that her dress was far far more conservative than what she was used to seeing walk in the Library at the University of Arizona.

You mention socialist thinking, that's simply BS as overt concern about the dress of others is socialist thinking. There was nothing about the way that young lady was dressed that had a darn thing to do with the operation of the aircraft or the airline. She didn't distract the pilots, passengers nor disrupt operations of anything in the transport process. There was no reason to threaten here off of the plane. The attendants job does not include passenger fashion advice as a part of the job.

I still think the attendant got upset because she was prettier than he is.

:rofl

She boarded plane in San Diego. She was covered alright for a Southern California girl in July.

I'd be concerned if she'd be wrapped into Inuit fur or if she'd be 400lb whale showing a butt crack.

Odds are that 'family friendly clothing' restrictions weren't posted on the itinerary or issued ticket, which she received before the flight.

I don't think it was a very tasteful outfit, but she was entirely covered up.  Like it or not (and nobody is forcing you into liking it), she wasn't inappropriately dressed.

That's absolutely true. And if the passengers were notified in advance of the expected appropriate attire and understand they must comply with that in order to fly hassle-free (BEFORE providing their money to the airline), that's fine.

Though I personally think her skirt is a little short I certainly don't have a problem with the way she is dressed. I think the Airline owes her not only an appology but a nice chunk of change to make up for the humiliation she was put through.

considering that 99.99% of male flight attentants bat for the same team, I'm not surprised.

Apparently, when she bent over, her skirt was short enough that her thong was completely exposed.  At least that was supposedly the reason given at the time.

I'll readily concede that much more risque clothing can found in many other places.  Like I said, it's clothes to go clubbing.  I think that's where it would be appropriate.  It has nothing do to with being "repressed" or not, I think think the cloths are hawt.  And exposing adults to it in an adult setting is fine.

As nirvana has pointed out, he has seen "worse" at school.  Now is this a good thing, or something that should be discouraged.  I certainly don't want my daughter dressing like a potato a school.  My god it blows my mind that now that makes some considered sort of over the top controlling parent.  But that's okay, I pretty damn comfortable with the job I'm doing.

Mav, what I found "socialist" had nothing to do with the issue specifically, but the implication that if something isn't regulated by the government.  Then is should be okay, even if it happens on someone else's private property.  If I misread that implication then I apologize.

"And if the passengers were notified in advance of the expected appropriate attire and understand they must comply with that in order to fly hassle-free (BEFORE providing their money to the airline), that's fine."

Touche.

With all that said, she does indeed look like a little tramp.  If she were my daughter I'd hope to have raised her with a desire not to look like she's walking the streets for a living.  Actually, my daughter would be forced to dress as modestly as
<--------- ole Lucy over there w/the skipping rope as long as she was under my roof.

But hey, if that gal wants to make a spectacle of herself in public, let her go for it.  No law against that.

*edit* oops, I cursed there. edited it before the skuzzinator found it.:D

I figured she jumped on the plane in nothing but lingerie- There's scores of women in SoCal dressed like that, in public, right this minute.

No, just the way people are up here, fashion styles and such.  I think your daughter would give you some headaches after becoming acclimated to our culture :)

(Pretty sure if I have daughters I'm moving down south)

If you're gonna dress like a hoe, do it where people have a choice in being there or not. That's my idea on it.

Hell, I'm a rabid teenager and that's how I'd see it. I hate how most of the girls dress for our school days and this is Small Island Town, USA. Thinking about what and inter-city school would be like makes me feel sorry for these people.

I don't see what major difference it makes in 90 degree weather if you have a skirt to your knees or one that lets the wind tickle your parts. It's not about that and I hate it when someone says it is. I'm guessing if you handed a guy a pair of spandex shortshorts and told him to put them on "because it's too hot for regular shorts" you'd get decked.

But such is life...and they always blame us when we look. :lol

Early reports state that she needed to pull her skirt down and her blouse Up.

Not exactly what she is showing in the crymeariver article.

Besides that, umm..the airline is a Private Business, they can boot who they want.  If you want to fly a Government Run enterprise, deal with the results, the short skirt will be the least of your concerns.

Geez the stupid things that get press.

Unless of course it is violating a persons rights, which is not happening here.unless I missed where in the constitution it says " if dressed like a hoe you can still go".
