I loaded AH2 on my laptop, just to see if it would run - it did.
So, great - experiement over. I try to remove AH2 but the WISE uninstaller reports that it cannot open the install.log file. I've reinstalled the game to try and repair any damaged files but no joy.
Any thoughts?
thanks

All my unistaller really does is erase the install.log file.
I would just get rid of the HTC directory then search for "HTC" or "Aces" in your directory (RegEdit from the Run option) to erase anything left over.

What operating system? Are you running Norton or McAfee prducts? Did you have any anti-virus or security programs running during the initial installation?
-
Yes Skuzzy, I've got Symantec Antivirus running. It was on during the installation. The OS is Win XP Media Edition
-
Disable the anti-virus and try installing the game again. You might actually have to download the file again with the anti-virus disabled.
You should be able to cleanly remove it then.
-
No luck Skuzzy.
Uninstalled Symantec Antivirus, downloaded the game installer and reinstalled, but still getting the same error message from the WISE installer.

You might have to manually remove the game's HTC folder and re-install.
Basically, the installer is not being allowed to create the file. Something is inhibiting that.

Update: I've tried manually removing existing files and folders, then reinstalling - no luck. The uninstall log text file is being created but for whatever reason the uninstaller cannot open it.
I'm relegating this to one of those problems I'll get around to when I have time. I may just delete all files and folders and remove all references in the restigry; would that do the trick?

Yes.
