Las Vegas police said on Friday they had questioned O.J. Simpson about a hotel room break-in, but the former football star was not taken into custody.
A police spokeswoman said the matter was still under investigation and declined to offer further details.
Celebrity Web site TMZ.com, citing unidentified sources, said several men broke into a memorabilia dealer's room on Thursday night and held the dealer at gunpoint while they took memorabilia once owned by Simpson and other sports stars.
Simpson was among the men, according to the story on TMZ.com. The details could not be confirmed.

And OJ has commented that he will now devote the rest of his life to finding the real robbers.
Expect a book out in a few years, "If I stole the Memorabilla"
Just kidding, but it sounds good.
-
i think about some of America's washed up sports stars and it bums me out how money can make people evil.
i think its a shame what has happened to mike tyson too.
-
I thought this just happened? He already was tried?
Oh, right, I forgot, in this country, people are "innocent until the media says they aren't."
-
relaxth willith, he will get histh day in courth......not that it will do any good.

Money didn't make them evil. It just made them famous so you would hear about it. There are plenty of people with as much or more money that don't go around killing and raping people. And there are plenty of losers who do that never make the national news.
-
OJ says he conducted a sting to get stolen sports memorabilia back. No weapons were involved.
Case closed, he is innocent.

did they find the other glove this time? ;)

I always felt Tyson was set up on the first rape charge.
Agreed Tyson wasnt a "nice" guy.
But I think that fact was intentionally played upon
The two worst things that happend to Tyson was
1 Cuss dying
2 Marrying Givens and her mother

OJ has a lifetime "Get out of jail collect $200" card, does he?
-
Read the writeup on CNN... It looks like OJ is being set up. His version, and he has just as many witnesses as the one who called the cops, is that he and a few people went to these sellers shacked up in a vegas hotel room (sounds like a bunch of shady characters already) and found a bunch of his stuff that was stolen or otherwise belonged in his possession, not in the possession of these shady sellers. He took back his stuff and left. One of the sellers got pissed and called the cops, making up a story about how there were guns and it was like some "home robbery".
WTF... how is taking your stolen stuff back from some guy pawning it out of a hotel room the same as an armed assault on a household?
As bad as it sounds, I strongly suspect OJ is right. If OJ had gone to the cops, the red tape and usual delays would have resulted in the sellers skipping town with all of OJs stuff. So he went and got it back himself. Nobody got shot, and nobody is even claiming to have been roughed up. Sounds pretty "normal" to me, no different than a dude going to a garage sale and finding tools with his name on them that had been stolen a while ago. Call the cops and everything and everyone vanishes before the cops show up, so just get a few friends to back you up, grab your stuff, and leave.
I hope the outraged seller gets nailed for fencing stolen goods, selling without a license, selling without collecting/submitting sales tax, etc. Those jerks were capitalizing on selling goods stolen from a celebrity, and they deserve whatever pain they get even if the cops come down on OJ. Personally, I hope OJ gets off without charges or even gets commended for getting his stuff back without causing a fight.

OJ was on a Sting operation... It just so happens his watermelon was involved.
Dammm you all can't you just understand that OJ is being set up?
His Book, well not really now his book... just hit the market. Cost extra for a glove. Nice fold out though, glove, knife and a kewl golf club.
Why is everyone hampering his search for the REAL murderers?
Par 4?

Except you cant go into someones house and "take your stuff back and leave". If you do you better have rock solid proof it is indeed your stuff. Even if it is you cant just go into someones domicile, and yes thats what a Hotel room is.
I hate sounding like a lawyer but it may very well be that it is the same as someone going into your house and stealing from it. It all sounds shady to me and anyone that sides with OJ would do well to remember this was a guy who hacked up two people to death, imposed all kinds of drama into American life, and then lied his way out of it with his slick lawyers.
I would personally have a problem believing what the guy says.
-
LOL
If you think someone has your stuff, and your in the right, you either bring in the cops to search. Or you hire a lawyer and sue. Either way you let the pro's handle it.
OJ obviously feels like he is above the law, is not held to its standards.
And that he can do whatever he feels like.
Its going to trip him up some day.

:rofl :lol
You`re breaking my heart here.
An O.J. sting operation? The DEA, FBI, CIA, ATF...................and now the O.J.E. ( Orange Juice Enforcement )
Give me a friggin break.
-
So we have verifiable information that this stuff was actually stolen from OJ? Or are we just accepting OJ's good word? How do we know OJ didn't actually sell off this stuff in the past?
Either way, storming in with a couple of your pals to take back "your stuff' is not the best way to handle this situation.
Joker
-
Joker you are kidding right? Of course we know it was oj's stuff, he said it was so that makes it gospel. He even doesn't have receipts to prove it's his. Besides he needs that sports memorabillia to help him find the real killers.
:huh

Is there no limit to the gullibility of the American public?
Of course OJ is innocent. And, he didn't kill anyone. In fact, he can be seen on golf courses all over the US hot on the trail of the real killers. I am sure he will work equally tirelessly to track down the perpetrators of this fraudulent accusation!
-
But now the LVPD have arrested him. Is there no limit to law enforcement's racism?
-
New direction. Now one of the original "victims" has changed his position. Now he's on oj's side. He also said his poor health precludes him from coming back for a trial. Can we say "payoff"???
-
As Kanya said at the VMA's "Can't a black man get a break":rofl

OJ - Once a criminal, always a criminal

LOL First thing I said when I heard this was.............."Well......O.J. just spent some cash again." :)
-
Now it looks as if he's locked up .
I'm hearing if he is convicted on ANY of the charges brought against him.
He could end up spending the rest of his life in jail.
How Ironic
get away with murder only to end up spending your life in jail for something entirely different
I this case. poetentially Robbing a robber
OJ HELD WITHOUT BAIL (http://edition.cnn.com/2007/US/law/09/17/oj.simpson/index.html)
EDIT
It seems only 2 of the charges could end up having hm spend the rest of his life in jail
All the charges carry possible prison terms, with a range of two to 30 years on the robbery counts and one to six on the rest
-
TMZ has a recording of when OJ robbed the guys.
OJ robbery audio (http://www.tmz.com/2007/09/17/o-j-confrontation-caught-on-tape/)

It simply doesn't matter to whom the stuff belonged. The most serious crimes have to do with the forced entry of the domicile(as mentioned) and the unlawful restraint(this is a no brainer, it's in the first two lines of the audio tape). If there were guns involved, OJ and friends have commited multiple violent felonies. OJ better gather his defense team again, he needs it.
-
but how will OJ find his wife's killers if he's in jail?
-
Well if they stole her sports memorabilia he just let them go.
-
yall are no better then the people taking all the pictures of the stars. let the man be he will have his day with the one that matters and theres no hiding anything from him.

At least OJ will have the satisfaction of knowing that his wife's killer is finally behind bars.

Just a minor correction, at least until they set bail that for someone who has no assets, will be able to make.

Goldmans to seek Simpson memorabilia
By JEREMIAH MARQUEZ, Associated Press Writer Tue Sep 18, 3:07 AM ET
LOS ANGELES - If the Goldman family has its way, it may soon own the sports memorabilia that O.J. Simpson is accused of committing armed robbery to recover for himself.
Since winning a multimillion-dollar settlement against Simpson in Ron Goldman's death, the family has waged a decade-long campaign to track down and claim Simpson's assets.
That effort hasn't stopped with the NFL star's arrest following a confrontation with memorabilia collectors in a Las Vegas hotel room. On Tuesday, the family plans to file request in Superior Court to obtain ownership of the sports memorabilia seized.
David Cook, an attorney for Goldman's father, Fred Goldman, said he believed Nevada authorities would turn over the items with a court order after Simpson's criminal case finishes. The items include Simpson's Hall of Fame certificate, a gold Rolex watch and the suit Simpson wore on the day he was acquitted, Cook said.
"Assuming that this case is resolved one way or another, at the end of the case, the stuff will never go back to Mr. Simpson," Cook vowed. "He's going to walk out of Clark County empty-handed."
Simpson was being held without bail Tuesday in Clark County Detention Center on six felonies, including two counts of robbery with use of a deadly weapon. If convicted, he could receive up to 30 years in state prison on each robbery count alone.
Another man suspected in the alleged heist surrendered Monday. Clarence Stewart, 53, of Las Vegas, lived at one of the residences that police searched early Sunday to recover some of the memorabilia.
Stewart turned over some of the missing goods, including footballs bearing autographs, police said. He was being held on six felony charges, including robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Another man, Walter Alexander, 46, of Mesa, Ariz., was released without bail. He faces charges almost identical to Simpson's.
A fourth man, Tom Scotto, was questioned and cleared of suspicion after police concluded he was not in the room, reducing the number of outstanding suspects to two, police said. Both were apparently seeking attorneys and preparing to surrender, police said.
Simpson's arraignment was set for Wednesday. Yale Galanter, Simpson's lawyer, said he was preparing a bond motion and will ask for Simpson's release on his own recognizance.
"If it was anyone other than O.J. Simpson, he would have been released by now," he said.
"You can't rob something that is yours," Galanter said. "O.J. said, 'You've got stolen property. Either you return it or I call the police.'"
The Goldmans hope the property never finds its way back to Simpson.
In 1997, a civil jury in Santa Monica returned $33.5 million in judgments against Simpson in a wrongful-death lawsuit by the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Goldman.
The jury awarded $8.5 million in compensatory damages to Ron Goldman's estate and a total of $25 million in punitive damages, divided equally between both estates.
Tuesday's hearing was originally scheduled in connection with any money the Goldmans say Simpson earned from a video game featuring his likeness.
Despite extensive court hearings, however, most of the judgment has remained unpaid.
In 1999, seized personal property was auctioned off, raising only $430,000, more than half of it from the sale of his Heisman Trophy.
The house itself did not generate anything toward paying the judgment. A bank foreclosed on the home, put it up for auction and bought it back.

so he was just taking the stuff to pay the goldmans?

<<"If it was anyone other than O.J. Simpson, he would have been released by now," he said.>>
Someone is pretty ignorant of the law.
Entering anywhere, armed, with intent to hold any individual(s) by force, or extract goods, services, or possessions IS A FELONY.
My best guess is that he'll be charged with at least 4 felonies, of not 5.
With wittnesses and a tape...as well as OJ being unable to keep his pie-hole shut before obtaining legal council....
He will have PLENTY of time to write his next book from behind bars.

Well in this case you could modify it a bit. What happens in vegas may just stay in Nevada State Correctional Facility. I understand the golf facilities there are very limited. Poor baby.
