Does anyone have any idea if this is a legit plane, I can't seem to pull much up on it and can't shake the idea that it is awfully similar to a Me-163. I know the Japanese Navy had rocket engine technology because I've seen the "Baku" (I can't remember the real name off hand) and know that was rocket powered.
The orginial site where I got the info. (http://www.combinedfleet.com/ijna/j8m.htm)

Yea fixed that, sort of, I just gave a link with the pictures.

I am nearly positive that they never made it past testing.

In the Japan terrain the default skin for the 163 is in Japanese markings for the shusui. Also 262 and 234 skins for hypothetical confrontations.
-
it was probably just a Japanese copy of the Me163 they also had a Stuka copy, I forget its name though.
-
it just looked like a 163, it wasn't a copy, they devloped it in country.

Make you wonder what would of happened if Japan has more industry power during the beginning of the war.

That is exactly why they invaded manchuria, industry.

Wrong, it was a copy, the germans provided the Japanese with blueprints. The Japanese just improved upon the original design making it larger for more flight time.
They did the same thing to the 262.

same difference.

BTW, it says right on that page, Has not entered service during wartime.

I know if anyone had noticed, I was merely asking if it was an actual plane, or someone who had fun with photoshop because it looked far to similar to a Me-163 to me, but reguardless I got the answer to my question so it's all good.

Actually I thought the German's shipped a complete Me163 over disassembled inside a submarine.

The J8M was aplanned as a licenceced built Me 163B.
But basically only a technical documentation ever reached Japan.

That has German written all over it. Funny how they also copied German optics as well, hence the Japamese camera market. It's also kinda funny how every lexus has Bmw lines, oh maybe it's the other way around. :)
