I know many (but, not as many as there used to be) readers of this will start laughing soon as they read this.
I ran a mission last night. The first one on over 2 years. I had a blast. Blithering on about how to drop rockets and bombs in the same pass to kill the FH and VH and all of the GV on the ground to take the field like I used to do all the time. But since I don’t play much anymore I am rusty. But we gave it our best and didn’t take it. Failure. Failure. Failure.
And as I did in the past, I felt this need to apologize for wasting the mission player’s time. Profusely. I am a dork.
But it was a great piece of time and for that I think you guys. I wish others would lead on VOX. It adds a great deal of excitement for me to have a play by play happening in real time. A leader …leading with some wit throw in for the hell of it.
Salute

Art, I remember a mission you ran in AH1. It was the Uterus map and we were all in Pony's NOE. We actually landed within 10 miles of the field, decimated it and captured it.

Haven't seen you in forever, Art. Glad you still got it in you. ;)

It takes dedication to run missions. I used to do it. You have to develop a following, and you need a core of experts. My squaddies could guarantee hits on selected targets...the rest of the hoarde would hammer at will, tie up defenders, and generally have a great time.
We used to roll bases this way.
Of course, now, you are criticized for taking bases, so I gave up.

:) I logged on just in time to join your mission art, it was fun no matter what happened. The best part was when you said "if anyone augers I'm gonna be mad" followed by "I'm down" lol
pal
I f the fighter hangars hadn't popped we might have got the field but those la's saw the goon.

No, you forgot to have the goon launch in advance of the strike force or failed to have the strike force reduce speed to the proper levels. Too much time between bombs away and goon in always equals failure (maybe not always but 97% of the time)

Actually the rooks had been fighting over the field for some time tiger, It had nothing to do with the goon timing... Town was popping as well as everything else and the air was full of planes from all directions.
