This set looks like a no thrill strong headset. Can anyone recommend a good cheap headset? I would like to go to bestbuy or frys to pick one up tonight.

I bought these about 3 - 4 years ago and still using them today.

Sound (Including bass) is great, though after several hours I get a headache.

I went through 1 Labtec headset and 2 Plantronics headsets.   When the 2nd plantronics mic went, I bought a standalone mic for $9 at BB.   When the phones went, I bought a $50 pair of Sennheisers.   I don't regret it.

I have had great luck with my plantronics (gamepro 1 or something like that- $30 off the shelf at Circuit City). Conventional 3.5mm plugs, not the usb model. Great sound, have survived numerous trips to the floor, comfortable to wear.

edit : Found it:

heh, guess you already found a set.

I bought the  Ear Force AK-R8 a couple of weeks ago.  I just couldn't go back to stereo after these.  Check them out.
