It was a photogaphic aircraft for the Germans. they had this design because the cockpit on the right side of the aircraft made it easier to bow the wiong down and take a picture. the one elevator caused less drag for the airplane.
-
See, first they were gonna do this...
but continuous Allied bombing of aircraft factories forced them to cut back to a single engine instead of 5 and only one and a half fuselages instead of two. So they did the best they could faced with their shortages. :D

one pilot and the other fuselage house the navigator/ whatever.

I just found a site with a few more weird looking experimental planes.

I'm going to throw up now!:(
-
The germans had many asymetrical designs on the drawing board.
Take a look at Mr.Rutan's boomarang, or try looking at Luft'46,BV has many interesting asymetrical designs:aok

They found one of Corky's P-38s!
-
3 Prototypes build, 5 pre-production series A-0, 10 pre-production series B-0, 10 planes of B-1 series.
Handling characteristics were reported to be very good. However, the FW 189 was chosen to be the next tactical recon plane.
The BV 141 did a few experimental operational sorties on the eastern front only. The majority was only used for testing and some ended up in a recon training unit.

Can anyone verify the authenticity of this bird? Because if Im not mistaken the P38 marked "yippee" was teh all orange one that was comemorating a certian number of production runs of the p38.

eh well that craft proves only one thing hitlers think tank did invent Crack and tested it first:rofl

Caption - "When drunk Germans invent aircraft."

actually, it would have actually worked if they got it into production and it wasn't super slow. they made the FW-189 better than the BV-141.

Yea, I just looked it up in one of my books. There's a picture of Yippee and you can see both rudders. It was the 5,000th lightning built. Either that pic is photoshopped or a different airplane (unlikely.)
