That thing would nose over quicker than a Bangkock hooker with thousands of pounds of bombs loaded.

Burt Rutan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burt_Rutan)

I managed to get an extra 'T' in his last name. Forgive me Burt!
He designed SpaceShipOne that won the Ansari X-Prize in 2004.

Yes hahahaha it hurts my eyes too! :rofl

If you really want to get a sick feeling in the pit of your tummy, look at his plane call the Boomerang!, Rutan's Asymmetrical Twin. It's real and it flies.

I pitty the waist gunners.  They'd be starring at the prop whirling a few feet from their face the entire flight

Burt Rutan is a famous aviator, he owns the company "Scaled Composites" which developed and flew the first private space shuttle "Space Ship One" that won the X-Prize.  He's known for creating inovative aircraft designs that look like that pic of that B-17 of having the wings at the rear of the plane, and smaller wings in the front.  You can learn more about him here http://www.scaled.com/
