Title: SEA size
Post by: croduh on September 22, 2007, 01:51:36 AM
I've been working on a new map that i will hopefully submit for use in SEA, but i was wondering is there a size limit like for MAs?
Can it be 512 miles big?

Keep it under 40 MB, and watch those poly counts and LODs if you want it accepted.

Croduh, I recommended this before and I will recommend it again. Build a working MA terrain before you attempt to make a SEA terrain.

Easycore, don't worry, i usually start working with 1024 textures and later resize them, so in the end the file size would be much smaller than 20 mbs, talk about 40 mbs;)

It will be fps wise, because cities are not large in that area.Nor will i add too much clutter.

Raptor, i have a few working ma terrains that are not submitted (well kinda working - no vspawns, sbs or such small things).

I have also made maps of this size and detail before, i pretty much know how stuff works( or at least i think so;) )

Typically TGs and custom airfields/v-bases/ports do not take up a lot of space.

Well, using objects available in the OE (Non-custom) will not do much to the file size of your terrain.
