When will Boston stop overreacting to student pranks! They are so paranoid! They are idiots for thinking a student with a wire and battery could be a terrorist! We are turning into a police state! What would Ben Franklin think! The humanity!

thats a chick?
Why was she carrying Play-Doh?
What kind of Machine Guns do the Boston PD have? MG-42s like Kerberos Panzer Cops that would be cool.
She was wearing that sweatshirt for the whole week without washing it?
Must smell like rancid tuna for a 3 meter radius around her then

She deserved to be tasered instead of the "Grandstanding tool" in FLa. Then again, MIT obviously has a crappy entrance screening process.

What happens when one introduces electrical current to Plastic Explosive?

She didn't have plastic explosives.
-
if one did I would imagine a bullet to the melon would be more effective 9-10 for disarming a mad bomber. Besides a taser contracts muscles not something you wish to do if she had ther thumb on her play doh detonator
Once they estabslished she was just some nutter with play doh then they should have tased her.
-
I think they played it very "by the book".
Walking into an airport, post 9/11, with wires and Playdoh in your hands is just outright asking for it. See how long she would've lived had she dressed this way at an Israeli security checkpoint.
-
Suicide dweeb, anyone who does that these days is asking for a head shot, and a one way ticket to a pine box. Pity they didn't give it too her.
-
Society would have been well served if they had blown her head off.
1) It would serve as a good warning about hoax bombs
2) Smug tulips would think twice about being jerks
3) One less ugly chick blocking the view of good looking ones.
-
She should be serving some jail time for it. Not very bright even if she is an MIT student.
-
what is very funny on the MIT campus is not funny in a airport. These kids need to understand the difference between campus life and real life.
-
Seems obvious she was looking to provoke some sort of response. If she was looking to demonstrate excessive paranoia in airport security she acted stupidly. The device on her shirt might have been sufficient to make this point but that with the play-doh was too obvious and could be hardly misconstrued.
-
I pray they give her at least a year in prison. They can call it "prison art".
-
One or two people who know her have described her as bright but a little "different"... I wonder if she's autistic and they're trying to be polite and not mention it?
-
i thought this thread was going to be about the red sox.
-
Hmmm, Chairboy hasn't been along yet to tell us how the police overreacted? I thought he would be outraged

She obviously didn't have an operating brain cell either.

To me, the most absurd part of this story is that she claimed to be trying to "attract potential employers"
:rofl
I wonder which employers she is interested in? Hamas? Hezbollah?

Nothing. Plastic explosives require an "excelerator" such as a blasting cap. Those can be set of with an electrical charge though.
