Thanks to the italian and british special forces, two kidnapped italian soldiers have been freed. 9 talibans have been killed, one prisoner is actually seriously wounded. SAS units, togheter with italian Comsubin and Para units did the work.
No matter what italian news say I'm pretty sure the SAS carried out the most part of the "dirty" work. Thank you.

My countries special forces can beat up your countries special forces, (not to mention the fact that my dad could beat up your dad) :D

The real miracle here is the Intel that allowed them to find the 2 kidnapped soldiers in the first place. <> on a job well done.

While SAS Operators would have certainly been up to the task, the Brits involved were SBS, not SAS.

Also, don't sell Italian Operators short. They SBS wasn't along because the Italians couldn't handle the job alone. They could have just fine, but it never hurts to have some of your buddies come along 'just in case'.

Yep Wulfie, they were SBS, my mistake. I said "the most part" not becouse I believe our Comsubin's (from the same unit that sunk RN battleships during WW2 with manned torpedoes) and Para's are not good but becouse our soldiers in Afghanistan are not in the front line the way they should. They sadly have a weak support by our leftist government which cannot say clearly that we are fighting a war. Our ROE's are not clear, hence we lack real helicopters and armored units support. Its a mess for those guys.
