Title: Turn in child porn tape to police and face life in prision?
Post by: Tac on September 27, 2007, 04:56:22 PM

Now, I agree this guy should've turned that tape in the INSTANT he saw what it was, not 5 months later!!!

But... what the heck is wrong with the authorities? Charging him for possession of kiddie porn and other stuff when he turns it in to the police??? Life in prision? 20+ years! WT heck??? Hell if he's not involved in the crime the worst they should be charging him is negligence and slapped with some heavy community service.

Any chance of people having similar tapes who'se conscience bothered them and might have turned them in to police will now definetely NOT turn them in at all...but rather destroy them and ruin any chance of rescuing the victimized child!!!

Whoever is responsible for charging this man should be jailed as well.

Yup... better to just turn around when you see a crime happening and it has nothing to do with you. Getting involved brings you nothing but trouble nowadays. Thanks to all the uptight prosecutors who just love to prosecute people at every turn. Not to forget a few rotten cops who feel over important of themselves.

never trust the police, they think all civilians are criminals, they just haven't caught all of them yet.

According to the news, the police do not believe his story that he found the tape in the desert as the tape doesn't show any damage that would have resulted from the elements.  While they don't believe he made the tape, they suspect that he knows more about it then just being someone that "found" the tape.

I don't understand how they got such a clear picture of the little girl and a grainy picture of the guy they are looking for, when according to the report, he was in the film.

Doesn't make sense.

And my daughter wonders why I am so protective.

Note this quote from the article:

"A 26-year-old Pahrump man, Darren Tuck, surrendered the tape to Nye County sheriff's investigators September 8, after another man reported seeing it, Boruchowitz said."

That added tidbit makes it sound to me as if the cops had to go ask this ******* for the tape, rather than him coming forward with it.

I think this is the key line here

"26-year-old Pahrump man, Darren Tuck, surrendered the tape to Nye County sheriff's investigators September 8, after another man reported seeing it, Boruchowitz said."/B]

It wasnt until AFTER someone else reported it that he decided to cover his arse by turning it in

Sorry but IMO his excuse seems pretty fishy..

" 26-year-old Pahrump man, Darren Tuck, surrendered the tape to Nye County sheriff's investigators September 8, after another man reported seeing it, Boruchowitz said.

Tuck told detectives he found the videotape in the desert outside Pahrump more than five months ago, although Boruchowitz said the tape didn't appear to have been exposed to weather or elements.
"

Looks like he turned it in only after someone else saw it. Sounds to me like he was scared of getting turned in for it. So instead he turned it in and claims he found it in the desert.

ohh I guess sometimes strange things happen, but I'm willing to bet this guy had it because he wanted it.

What ticks me off about our current admin, is they just pushed through some new laws that have the "ability" to go after a lot of the stuff that's out there that was on the grey lines.

Like underage non nude "modeling sites", yet instead of actually doing what the law was meant to do. The former DOJ is using the law to have the FBI harass legit adult porn producers.

In fact Dateline has probably done more to catch pedo's than our current Federal govt has.

No, read it again: "A 26-year-old Pahrump man, Darren Tuck, surrendered the tape to Nye County sheriff's investigators September 8, after another man reported seeing it, Boruchowitz said."

Sounds like he handed it over because the "someone else" who saw it turned him in. My BS-O-meter is pegged regarding his excuses.

that guy obviously relished his visual feast.  He should be punished to the full extent of the law and then a little bit more.....I wonder what our resident pron hoster thinks about it, a 1st amendmant violation perhaps?

Here is another point with law enforcement and Child Porn. If you have a wireless router or access point at your home and the security is not turned on, (read your manual) and someone uploads the items to your computer, even though you might have proof that it was placed on your computer by someone else, to bad. YOU are going to jail. I worked with a cyber crime unit for 3 years. The court will not care. No one and I mean NO ONE will believe you. There is really no way to tell if that person did it or not so they take no chance.

Secure your systems NOW. These bad guys are out there war driving and you might be the one they pick. No one will be able to save you.

No it's called a set up. The old fashioned way is to plant drugs in someones house or car, call to the IRS, possibly make false accusations of child abuse, drug use etc. in a divorce/custody action.

This could be a real effective way of putting someone on the defensive.

There was a link from this story

"Chester Arthur Stiles, 34, was being called a "person of interest" in the search for a girl with haunting eyes who authorities believe was 4 or 5 years old when she was raped and sexually assaulted in the video, Nye County Sheriff Tony DeMeo said."

I hope someone finds this guy before the police and rips his nuts off - what a friggin sick world we live in

I hope the rapist in the video gets his nads burned off... I HOPE the guy with the video is telling the truth... After seeing whats being done to him, I would be more inclined now to toss the video in the fireplace...  IF the guy is telling the truth, no good deed goes unpunished.

Determining innocence or guilt isn't the job of the Police. They simply need probable cause to arrest. Let the Jury make the call. This guy says he found it in the desert. Let him sell that tale to 12 of his peers. Meanwhile the DA will bring in the the dude who saw the video and have him testify.

Really how is this at all an bad thing? Someone reports to the police that there is child porn at this location. The Police investigate, which results in the suspect bringing in the tape. Suspect is arrested. Perhaps he figured better to try the "found in the desert" story, rather than have the Police get a warrent and have them find it. Perhaps he really did find it in the desert and just kept it around for 5 months. Either way, it's more than enough to sustain an arrest.

There is a new development in the story. The little girl in the tape in question has been found in Nevada. She was with her parents and is now 7 years old. I believe in the tape she was supposed to be about 3 or 4. Here is the story and a picture of the guy she was with in the tape, and yes he has priors for sexual activities with a child.

BTW it's interesting that the lawyer for the guy who got arrested for having the tape says it's irresponsible that the Police said he had kept it for 5 months before turning it in. He never said it wasn't accurate however. The guy was also on probation at the time.

It seems that there is another change in the situation regarding the guy who "found" the tape and "turned it in". He is now being sought by the Police according to CNN. I am assuming he has fled since he was released from jail. They didn't say in the story.
