Aren't we a busy traveller these days.
;)
Have fun...never been to Vegas myself, but will get there.
You looking after the little guy while she is in the conference or have you left him with grandparents?

The car museum at the Imperial Palace is always good for spending a couple of hours. Last time I went to that museum was 94, easy 2 hours walking around
Open daily from
9:30a.m. to 9:30p.m.

Treasure Island has the best video game arcade on the strip, I remember playing a life size ridge racer game where I sat in a real mazda Miata. Everything worked on it too in cluding steering input, pedals and shifter. I had a friend in the passenger seat playing with the a/c, radio and every switch he could get his little piddles on! :D

Papa flew out to watch the little guy so its party time for us..>
Because I'm a glutton for punishment I'll even admit to seeing Celine Dion last night. Not a bad show but disproportionately attended by women and euros.
I need to restore order to my world by doing something less effeminate . Maybe I'll go rent a Ferrari or something.
Looking forward to the Marlin tournament in November.

Why aren't you at the craps tables?
-
Craps? Don't know much about the game.. I'll probably give give BlackJack a go in a bit. I do plenty of Poker nights but am not wild about giving it a go here.
The car museum looks pretty cool. Anyone ever try the indoor skydiving thing? Is it worth the trip or a waste of time? Any other cool things to do?
-
Mandalay Bay ~ sharks at their aquarium. That's a nice trip.

ya, but do they have laser beams on their heads?
-
Check out the Magic Motion theaters if they're still there. The roller coaster one will have you gripping the hand rail gauranteed!

The Mustang Ranch is no more, unless the Feds decided to go into the brothel biz. Besides that was up by Reno, a pretty good drive from Las Vegas.

I'll trust the voice of experience..>
Aww crap.. The wife and I bought a nice bottle of wine a few years ago and I snuck it down here to celebrate her passing the boards. So, when I call the restaurant they tell me I can use my own bottle but it will cost me a $55 corking fee. 55 bucks? The ice must be off the same iceberg that sank the Titanic or something.

Aureole (http://www.vegas.com/searchagent/restaurant/ViewRestaurant.do?restaurantId=3030)
The kid and our wives went there just last Saturday ... right after the early "Rat Pack" show ... less than a grand with two bottles of wine.
Aureole is in the Mandalay Bay.
Chopper tours of the Grand Canyon are a blast.
The paddle wheel tours (http://shop.vegas.com/tours/tour.jsp?tour=lmchampagnebreakfast_lak&loc=lakem&title=Lake+Mead+Tours) of Lake Mead are a blast too.
-
Hoover Dam is pretty close too. that's awesome

You could always go with the old gamble and get drunk routine.
I'm very disappointed that you went to a Celine Deon concert. You should have your MAN CARD revoked.

I lived in Vegas 90-93 when they opened the Excalibur. They had a filmed motion ride of the Colossus from Six Flags Magic Mountain. Was pretty good but no match for the real thing.

Fat Tuesdays at the MGM has pretty good hurricanes. :aok
While in the lobby, looking at the desk, to the right are some stairs. Fat Tuesdays is down the stairs on the right. Ask for a couple extra vials of booze, only a buck a piece.

If you never play one game in Vegas, make that game Blackjack. The odds are skewed so far in the houses favor (they use 3,4,5 and more decks of cards)it is the 2nd worst odds of winning behind Keno. Baccarat and Craps are the best odds of winning.
If you want to learn the games they usually have tutorials on one of the in-house TV channels.
-
cheapest craps in town are at the 4 Queens and the circus circus,, good place to learn, also all the hotels used to offer lessons for the cheap or free
you dont lose too much that way. when i used to go i would put my limit amount in my left pocket then all i won all day in my right, dont switch them then you can see how you really did at the end of the day! i also only set aside certain times to gamble like after 10 at night or from 1;30 to 5 ;00
this helps give you a chance at keeping more of your money but wont work as well if your doing the casino tour i,e, trying to find your favorite one.there is so much to do and see there i really only gamble about1/4 of the time im there. :D i wissh i was going too its been a few years since i have got to go have fun and thnx for helping to pay the power bill out there your donations are greatly apreciated :rofl :D
o and the blackjack is best on 2 deck shoes but 3 deck works ok too. i should know i used to deal way back when they invented it. and i dont know who said not to play it but it is one of the better games to play as far as odds go, just learn how first or you will be catching crap from the players around you for takeing the dealers bust card or something

My dirty little SECRET TO WINNING $$$$ IN VEGAS:
Casino Royale (a little hole in the wall across from the Mirage/next to McDonalds) has the highest odds on craps in town.
Their tables are almost always full.
Make the come-out bet ($2) and only add to that. Bet 6 or 8 every once in a while, but the ODDS bet is your safest bet...it is the ONLY BET where the house does NOT have a statistical advantage. You will consistantly make money all night!!
It's when folks start making all the othere craps bets where the house makes their money back.
I easily make $200-$300 a night there.
In the chip stacker...make 2 seperate sections. One section is "Chips I WILL cash in and take home" The other stack is what you will stay and play with...do NOT invade the profit stack.
Go easy on the free drinks....and don't get distracted by the hookers...the RIO is hooker central after 11 PM.

Go to DS-9 and eat at "Quarks" (Grin) did that for my kids last time we were there. Personally I want to hit the "Blue Man" show.... tickets are a bit pricey though.

Gonna do all the stuff I did at my last Vegas trip. I was 14 though then. Play video games. have fun. Gonna play some poker now that I am age.Last time I put real money down at a casino well real for an 18y/o was at an indian casino in tucson. ended up with a cup full of quarters before I lost it trying for more. But my real money is going towards the Richard Petty Stock car experiance they have there unless any of you gents have tried such a thing and say it sucks

I had a customer walk in wearing a Richard Petty Driving Experience shirt once. I asked him where he got it. He explained he was comp'ed it on his last trip to Vegas and ran that weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
I asked him how he liked it. Was it really as cool as it sounds? Do you really get to go for it? He said it was'nt all that great. I asked him if he rode or drove. He said he drove after taking a 2 hour class on high speed driving and having to listen to all the safety rules.
Were the cars all choked down and limited on power? He said not really, they weren't full race but around 70% power. They had to stay behind a lead car.
Well how fast did they let you get it up to? Did they let you floor it? Could you feel the track? Did you get loose??
He said he really did'nt enjoy it. He did'nt like going fast and the car was really loud. The exhaust was all you could smell. He was hot, sweaty and the suit was itchy. He couldn't wait to get the dang thing off. His fast lap was 90mph.
I wanted to biatchslap him.

The nekkid show @ NYNY is better. Been to every Cirque show in Vegas.
Zumanity > O > The Beatles - Love > Ka > Mystere imho.

having lived there for over three years my advice is to leave as soon as you can get your bellybutton back on your prefered mode of transportation
