Because he was pissed off (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20996503/>1=10357)
Wouldn't it be a nice world we lived in where this was the way all altercations ended.

says he used a power saw...i'm assuming they mean chainsaw?

Here's another 'man saws house in half' story. This German man took his half of the house & had it moved elsewhere, leaving his soon-to-be ex-wife with her half.

And no, it wouldn't. Neubob, you're a little bit disturbing sometimes.:)

Well, see, my thinking is that on the spectrum of bad things that can happen to you, or the spectrum of ways somebody else can get back at you, from lightly flicking your earlobe, to murdering your entire race, the house cutting retaliation is much closer to the lower end of the spectrum.
I think it would be worth it to pay for a fender bender with a circumcised house if a circumcised house is all it would cost to put a stop to a war, or a calamity of those proportions--even when you account for the relative frequency of fender benders to wars.

Yeah, I see your point. Nice is all relative. And sawing a house in half is way better than murder. *edit: would be better without vengence entirely though.

Without vengeance, we lose one of humanity's biggest checks on behavior. With no consequences, problems will arise. Having a house sawed in half is severe enough to make the impression last, but not so great as to qualify as evil. There are also benefits when you consider the humor aspect.
I'm voting for it.

There's a huge difference between vengeance and consequences.

I should have expanded my definition of retaliation to include all forms of punishment--including legally-administered as well as the strictly private.
