No it's not Mig Alley it's Wings over Europe by third wire. It's part of the strike figthers series. I downloaded the F-86 and Mig-15 from a website called Column 5, also check out FS Ace.com. You can type in Strike fighters downloads or Wings over Vietnam downloads and find a plethora of add on planes. As i remember there is a whole Korean war add on with Korean terrain available too.

I'm just sharing this with people since i hear so many people interested in a Korean war sim with these planes. Why keep it to myself ?

If you guys have any more questions just ask. Check it out it's pretty fun and challenging.

Some more pics for you...

That game is very challenging. More so with realism turned all the way up. No little icons to see the bad guys. You have to scan the sky and hope to catch a glimmer of light off their wings. The missiles don't always work the sound are amazing, the graphics are alright. The game is cheap. Check it out.

These are from last night. An armed recon mission in a pair of OV-1D Mohawks. Good times. What I love about this game is while it is not really 100% realistic it still has things very few games do. Most games have little quick 30 min missions. This game does too. However, if you want you can fly a 3 hour mission like this one was last night.

These shots were from earlier in the mission, while we were still in friendly airspace. What you are not seeing is us do, is hugging the ground, zig zagging though enemy air defenses to reach our target. It was challenging to say the least.

They are really neat airplanes. A guy at the field I fly out of has one. Here is a little info on the aircraft.
http://www.ov-1mohawk.org/
http://www.airheritage.org/ov1.html
http://www.globalsecurity.org/intell/systems/ov-1.htm

And here are two for sale.

They are no longer in use by the US Army. The last mission flown by these type of aircraft was in 1996. Now you can pick one up for around 200K on the civil market.

This is a fun map to practice your bombing, gunning and ATA. We shot down four drones, took out 22 trucks, six tanks and shot up 1100 30mm rounds each. Good times.

I've been looking for a good jet simulator recently.  So just to clarify...

This is called Wings over Europe (not wings over vietnam), and has all those planes at column5 available for adding into the game?

How are the AI computer fighters?  Or is this an online game?

I play the Wings over Europe version as it is the latest. There are after market terrain add ons. Both pay ware and free ware. I have a pay ware Vietnam terrain and it was well worth the 15$s.

As for the aircraft, there are a few different sites that have add on aircraft. Again there are payware add ons and freeware. I have found most of the freeware aircraft are high quality and they look really good. Almost all have good looking pits, with working radar, moving maps and all that jazz.

The game is some what like AH. It has just enough realism to make it fun without needing a manual the size of a phone book to fly the aircraft right. With every thing set to hard you will find yourself flying long missions, that start out kind of boring and then it gets really busy. You find yourself setting up your weapon systems, targeting the bad guys, dodging SAMs and trying not to get nailed by the AA hiding under a tree somewhere.

The AI can be tough. Again you can scale the dificulty here too. Set it to hard and you will find yourself sweating it out in a long 10 min dogfight for your life. With the AI set to hard they give you no breaks. They are deadly. So the challenge is there.

Online play is available. I would suggest joining a squadron. I fly with VFA-25. We are now learning to fly the F/A-18As. We were flying the A-7Es. We are mostly an attack squadron. We do a lot of co-op missions together pushing mud. It is a lot of fun.

You can download the game for 30$s US. It is worth the money. It runs on low end systems, it looks pretty good and there are tons of add-on aircraft and terrains for download. You should check it out.
