angus... I know that you are not from here but... democrats and republicans have changed a great deal in what they believe in even the last 50 years.

I believe the woman was talking about contemporary democrats..  without women and negros and hispanics voting as a block.. there would never be another democrat like todays democrats elected.

EDIT: I didn't read the article, but I find it incredibly difficult to imagine anything in the Guardian Lazs would agree with - that paper is the anti-Lazs incarnate.

If I'd actually read the post I'd have realised the link wasn't to The Observer (London based lefty broadsheet which Lazs would just love), but actually to The New York Observer , a publication I know nothing about.
