Title: An intersting find...
Post by: humble on October 03, 2007, 01:55:37 PM
Was looking for some JG 77 411 (service in tunisia) and happened across this. I had no idea that JG 77 flew the 205 in Italy....translated diary from JG 77 (http://www.ghostbombers.com/JG77/jg77_02.html#top)

Took me a while to find it, but I knew I'd seen a photo of one in LW markings.  Turns out it's the same bird as the model.

From the 82nd FG history.  Figures it was an MTO 38 book :)

Back when I was actually a member of the III/Jabostaffel and we had the rule of only flying LW planes some people gave us crap about flying the 205... we (JB42 and myself) that there were actually 1 or 2 squads of LW pilots flying C.205's.

I have it in a book here at home somewhere, but have had a hard time finding the actual information on the internet.

neat find and thanks for validating my old rules of planes allowed to fly ;) :aok
