Title: A Dying Cub Fans Last Request
Post by: kotrenin on October 06, 2007, 09:51:17 PM
As I hang my head down low (to avoid thrown beer cups,) I have to ask myself...
am I really surprised?...or does anyone really care?

That was a pretty entertaining song.  First time I have heard that song, but that is not too suprising as I am a Diamondbacks fan.  What is one more year to a cubbies fan anyway?  I heard you guys don't start counting till 100.  :D

Honestly, I felt kinda bad for Lou.  Sorry we stole your ticket.  We will try to redeem it for the Grand Prize.

My Mom was an avid Cubs fan. I grew up in California, but the 1st game I ever saw was in Wrigley in 1967. Mom could recite the infield of every Cub team going back to the 30's.

She passed in 1984, but while she was in the hospital I was able to lean in close and tell her that the Cubs were in the playoffs! She brightened up perceptibly and even gave a little smile. Thankfully, she passed away before they lost to the Padres in the NLCS. Lousy bastages!
