I saw in your thread on the P-51 turn performance a comparison that included the 190A-5. I flew the 190 after coming back from a relatively extended hiatus (roughly a year), and I find the performance of the A-5 to be so much changed for the worse that I can't fly it at all. It seems as if the stall speed was increased by about 20 mph, and the handling at low speed is worse as well. I was curious if any sort of head to head comparison could be made with the old, pre-patch 190 against the version we have now. I'd appreciate it, even if nobody else would :). Thanks in advance, if you choose to compare them.

I would appreciate it and also any material that would support this change.
It would seem that the A5 is held in history books to be much grander than it is here.
Given that it is a fantastic aircraft it would be a shame for it to be porked through overestimation of stalls induced by elevator input.

easy solution....
Just use the 152 :p

At least that one has always been awful lol.

It wasn't that bad at all when it first showed up :)

A fixed and visually updated 152 is on top of my wishlist just below the Me-410

I loaded AH1 (AH1113T1114), and compared the 190A-5 flight model to that of the current revision of AH2. I found the older 190 to be a bit better in terms of turn radius, with slightly better handling. The differences were only just perceptible and required measurements to verify.
I then loaded AH2 version AH2095T2100 (April 2007). I tested the 190A-5 a bit throughout its flight envelope. No difference was noted between this version and current version in terms of flight model. While I have four versions of the game installed, I have no AH2 version prior to April of this year.
I personally did not see any dramatic changes in the 190s with the drag model update. I fly them some every tour, but they are not a major ride for me.

Hahah
Mussie.
Urchin, try checking out your stick scaling.
If you turn you elevator axis damping up a bit it should help to smooth those turns out a little bit and give you that little bit more of an edge.
I had it dampened to such an extent that it was almost difficult to fly other aircraft with the 190 setting but it did seem to stave off that bastard snap roll and help iron out those turns a little.

WW, is there some trick to adopt to have multiple version of the game installed on the same pc, or can I just install them and they'll run without confict? And what about AH1, does it conflict with AH2?

I have four hard drives... Two internal and two external, for a total of roughly 1.4 terabytes. My C: drive has the current AH2 on it. My D: drive has AH1 and an older version of AH2. My G: has yet another version. Oddly enough, this version loads as quickly as any other. USB 2.0 is remarkably fast. I have no conflicts.

Widewing

All you have to do is set the installation path to something other than your current AH directory.

Rgr that, thanks Widewing and Messiah.
