Title: Floated to the peanut gallery....
Post by: humble on October 13, 2007, 11:34:08 AM
I was tooling around on "coffee patrol" this AM in my A-20...1st hop ended up over enemy base. I bobbed and weaved and finally got played by a smart spitty driver. Having time for one more I looked at the map and that base was heavily green so I pointed the flying sawzall at the logical base they'd up from....

Caught a pony climbing out and bounced him (guy was afk). At this point DAR showed both other bases heavily red so I orbited and the pony relaunched...

I trolled on in and bounced him. Wasnt a vulch or even near the base and he actually did a good job defending to the point he could potentially convert to offense. I saw he took a low G line and converted to angles and he couldnt tighten up in time...

 clip 1 (http://www.az-dsl.com/snaphook/A-20/grmrpr1.ahf)

Now this led to some diatrabe on 200 and he came screaming on out again.

Now I'd obviously blown a bit of E and from the way he came screaming in I knew he'd wepped on out...so I took him up and then went angles on him and put him in a fight a pony isnt gonna win very often...again good flying and actually a fun fun fight.
clip 2 (http://www.az-dsl.com/snaphook/A-20/grmrpr2.ahf)

Just amazed at how many people seem to feel the need to say anything other then fun fight....win or lose.

GrmRpr needs to learn how to do a better rolling scissors and use no more than 3 notches of flaps. However, overall he did better than average.

My regards,

WW as we both know the A-20 is frighteningly easy to kill.

I'm still far from a master in the thing...as shown in the 2nd clip I scrape off way to much E and am a bit late on my counters all to often so I dont have the pop/angles to convert my setups.

TY Bronk, A-20 is a fun fun bird. Within the broad flight envelope it'll stand up pretty well. IMO its an excellent learning platform for E fighting...

WW with a bit of time with you or murder GR would be pretty formidable...

Glad you like em woody. Whats funny is I ran into Spatula late last night (will post clip in TA section later) and we had a very similiar fight. Textbook "fun" flying by Spatula...he kept reloading and coming back to a vertical rolling scissors type fight with me. But as you'd expect from him he managed his E and position very well and slowly chipped parts off my poor A-20 and then when he'd pushed it as far as he could he'd scoot and reload. At the end he goes a bit more true E fight and I counter with some front quarter defensive fire to get his "attack profile" at least a bit tweaked. He finally ran out of bb's and I limped on home....but a fun fun fight.
