Hope to see some fellow AH'ers there even though it is a short notice. WWII speakers and aircraft alone should be worthy enough for a small get-together.
Located at the Mt. Vernon IL Outland airport Sat Oct 20th
From 9am to 5pm
Some of the warbirds there as of printing (dated 10/11) will be a P-51, C-47, TBM, C-2 "COD", L-39, Two T-28's, four T-6's, UH-60, C-21, and an A-10. More warbirds may be expected to appear between the time of printing and the 20th. Also stated that there may be a "big" visitor from the US military as a surprise.
For the veterans reunion of the event, the series that aired on PBS called "The War" will be shown on a large screen television throughout the day inside the lobby. Local WWII vets will supplement the showing with personal details of their own experiences. There will also be speaking of the Iwo Jima invasion and the WWII military glider pilot program. Speakers will also include Bill Royster who was a B-29 tail gunner and also Lyle Endicott who was an FM-2 pilot. Additional speakers are expected to be scheduled.
Food, chopper rides, and free parking wil be available.
Also noted that children between the ages of 8 - 17 can have a free airplane ride.

I take em at the highest resolution on our camera. They are really nice resized for your desktop.
Alas, the Patton Museum pics I posted back in June. We have a 6 MP camera, and that is what I use, the 6M setting.

At the highest setting I have room for about 360 pictures on a 6 MP camera. :)
