http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-Harry-Reid-Rush-Limbaugh-Smear-Letter_W0QQitemZ260170172469QQihZ016QQcategoryZ4105QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
.When "Dingy Harry" Reid and the U.S. Senate turned away from the business of the nation to instead smear a private citizen, forty-one of them sent a letter demanding the "repudiation" of their inaccurate interpretation of Rush Limbaugh's comments about Jesse Al-Zaid (a.k.a. Jesse MacBeth) and other "phony soldiers" who falsify their service. This letter was delivered to Mark Mays of Clear Channel Communications, Rush Limbaugh's syndication partner, and widely quoted in the Drive-By Media.
Up for auction is the original letter signed by 41 Democrat senators. This historic document may well represent the first time in the history of America that this large a group of U.S. senators attempted to demonize a private citizen by lying about his views. As such, it is a priceless memento of the folly of Harry Reid and his 40 senatorial co-signers.
The entire proceeds of this auction.. the entire high bid... will be donated to The Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation, a registered charity which provides financial assistance to the children of fallen Marines and federal law enforcement officers. Rush Limbaugh serves on the Board of this organization and has been active on its behalf. All costs of this auction will be paid by the seller... every dollar of your winning bid will go to this charity, which has to date distributed over $29 million.
Rush first publicly displayed this letter on the night of October 11th during a speech in Philadelphia, having a security operative carry it on stage, with the letter itself safely encased in a Halliburton Attache case handcuffed to the agent's right wrist. Included in this auction is that same Halliburton briefcase, as well as a personal letter from Rush Limbaugh, thanking the winning bidder for his donation. The special handcuffs may not be distributed outside of law enforcement and security officers, and thus are not included in this auction.
As winning bidder, you get:
- The original and infamous "Harry Reid Smear" letter, signed by 41 Democat senators
- The Halliburton briefcase in which this letter is secured 24 hours a day
- A personal letter of thanks from the Man Who Runs America, Rush Limbaugh
- A photograph of Rush displaying the letter on stage in Philadelphia on October 11th
Notice people who signed it. And some of them want to become a president? ....scary.
-
$40,000 so far.
What's interesting was the zeal in which these people wrote and signed this letter....rather than bothering to listening to the broadcast. Instead, they look like a bunch of desperate loons going after Rush for claiming he said things he did not.
Rush didn't have to do anything to have these signors show their ignorance....or how badly they are craving a chance to "get" him.
-
Oreilly, Rush, Ann Coulter is the newest, not sure if it's gonna get traction---can only go to the same sell so many times
-
Who is dumber, the idiots signing the document, or the idiots who voted these morons into office?
-
They scream about government wiretaps and the loss of civil rights, Then they go after a private citizen for no reason just because he disagrees with and shows what they really are for.
They scream about the worlds view of America and then pass some BS resolution just to piss off one of our allies so they go against American interests.
I swear half of them should be arrested and tried for Sedition. the other half should be executed for Treason. and Hillary should be made Dogcatcher-for-Life of Alfafa County Nebraska.

I have tried to find Limbaugh vain, pompous, irrelevant and just plain wrong, but I cannot. If his opinion and the reach of his voice upsets you, then chances are you deserve being upset :D
I want to thank Senator Reid for giving me the motivation to start listening to Limbaugh again. Its been quite a few years. This upcoming election cycle should be the best in ...well........quite a few years

See, that was the thing, no one had to listen to him, and it was great. But then he showed up on my NFL pregame show, of all places, wtf?? What, I won't listen so he shows the money to show up the one place I go??
And that's what gets me. All you hear is how the world is run by the liberal media, when in fact it is the conservative media that has dominated the past decade. And then gets to the point where Rush is on an NFL pregame show.
Thankfully, he stuck his foot in his mouth sooner than later and I was able to watch the NFL pregame show again.

They really do feel that they own that.

====
why do you suppose that is?
-
yeager.. how so? conservatives have fox news and maybe one tv show and talk radio and liberal socialists have everything else.
And... those shows are the biggest thorns in the sides of liberals imaginable.. they are hated and vilified and.. even the democrats in power do what they can to get em off the air... strange.
If you mean that for having so few... so many people tune in tho....
Then I guess you have a point.
lazs
-
they have alot fewer outlets but what they do have is listened to/watched by a vastly larger audience.
Of course liberals would say thats because only stupid (uneducated) people listen to the radio and/or watch TV and of course, theres lots more of them than intelligent thoughtful socialist communist educated types.....

You think my challenging expressed anger and degradation at the religion of Islam over frustration and fear regarding elements misrepresenting it is defensiveness and ignorance?
Let me add presumption on your part.
1. I'm not a Democrat.
2. I'm not a Muslim.
3. I never said I thought all Republicans were neocons. I'm pretty sure the GOP is distancing itself from the hijackers, anyhow. If you feel defensive, it has absolutely nothing to do with the Republican party, imo.
4. Religious hatred is still ignorant bigotry.
5. You're welcome. And I'm not really concerned if you get over it or not.

All of the money raised by this letter goes Here (http://www.mc-lef.org/Index.asp)
Not a single dime is spent on administration, all funds go to the families. All operating expenses are paid by the board.
Rush has Personally contributed several Million of his own dollars towards this group. One of the directors of The Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation admitted today, that nearly 40%(I think) of their budget from The Single Biggest Contribute they have.
He doesn't Have or Need "oily backers" :)
All the arguing over whether or not Rush is a moron, offensive, right or wrong is irrelevant compared to the core issue.
All the speculation of Rights Violations by the Left, and here is The Left actually attempting it. So between rights violations, as someone offered in here not too long ago, such as Baggage Checks and Security at airports, or the Federal Government having the ability to silence You if they do not agree with what you say, which would you see as a real violation of rights?
And Who is on record attempting that violation?

Which ideas that Rush pontificates on other then a blanket all statement
do you disagree on enough to just throw out the Strawman arguement without providing any meat on why you dislike his ideas so much.
Being a recovering drug addict is a strike against him but if that is the entire problem with his rhetoric being credible then it should be very easy to prove him un-credible considering his mind and thought process must be flawed and easy to argue and prove wrong by your logic and use of the drug addict label.
In another thread you got excited over the fact some people rhymed the Obama
name and proceeded to blow a cork.
It seems a little hypocritical to belittle a few for Rhyming obama with Osama for fun when you bash the lifes work in this thread of a recovering drug addict
who admitted he made mistakes, asked for forgiveness, and donates way more then the average american to charitable causes.
Should Recovering Drug addicts be ignored and not be given a second chance in your perfect liberal society?
Just curious...

The one thing that impresses me most about this auction is the charity that the funds are going to. Mr. Limbaugh is also matching the 2.1M Bid with a donation of 2.1M of his own.
-
The very thought or act of giving money to charity is a baffling concept to
liberals with their first reaction is one of conservative contempt for government not being run correctly otherwise there would be no need for the charity if we had voted for Kerry or Gore. So Rush donating matching funds must really be confusing them because we all know he is only in it for the money being a conservative capitalist and a stupid drug addict.
Any time a person is a threat to liberal ideas the best answer you will get is they are Stupid, or a Liar, or a Nazi, or drug addict or pick a derogatory label of the day, asking for substance of reasoning isn't going to bring any enlightenment other then vague references to what a friend of a friend told them once at a nightclub at 3am just before a Taco bell run.
I noticed a while back a mute list on the forum and realized I must have made it on a few mute lists, never myself considered it, I believe in freedom of speech and everyone is entitled to it unless your a liberal on the forum and then any person with an opposing view gets muted or whatever the feature is called.
But the point being they all preach the Bill of Rights but in reality they cant stand opposing views, it drives them absolutely crazy, I guarantee they use the mute feature liberally.
Harry Reid what a piece of work, doing more damage to the liberal party then Bill Clinton during an intern interview during national cigar week.

HARRY REID: Earlier this month, I came to the floor discussing comments made by Rush Limbaugh. Following my remarks, more than 40 of my Senate colleagues and I cosigned a letter to the chairman of Clear Channel, Mark May, telling him that we wanted him to -- to confer with Rush Limbaugh regarding the statements he made. I've since spoken to Mark May about this. Mark May, in fact, called me regarding this letter.
RUSH: It's Mays.
HARRY REID: This week, Rush Limbaugh put the original copy of that letter up for auction on eBay. Mr. President, we didn't have time or we could have gotten every Democratic Senator to sign that letter. But he put the letter up for auction on eBay. And I think very, very constructively, let the proceeds of that to go to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation. What is the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation? It provides scholarship assistance to children of Marines and federal law enforcement personnel whose parent dies in the line of duty, as well as health care assistance for disabled children of fallen troops. What could be a more worthwhile cause? And I think it's really good that this money on eBay is going to be raised for this purpose. When I spoke to Mark May --
RUSH: Mays.
HARRY REID: -- I think that he and I thought this would probably not raise much money, a letter by Democratic Senators complaining about something. This morning, the bid is more than two million on this. We've watched it during the week. It keeps going up, and up, and up, and there's only a little bit of time left on it. But it's certainly going to be more than two million. Never did we think that this letter would bring money of this nature --
RUSH: Stop the tape here, stop the tape. Do you see what's happening here? This is a clever move, rather transparent, to totally take the credit for this. Had he not sent the letter -- "we" didn't think it would ever generate this kind of money; "we" think it's great to raise this kind of...; "we" think this -- he's hoping that this is the angle the Drive-Bys will cover. Harry Reid is taking credit for writing the letter that gets this money raised for the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation. Resume tape.
HARRY REID: -- the cause, Madam President, extremely good. Now, everyone knows that Rush Limbaugh and I don't agree on everything in life, and maybe that's kind of an understatement. But without qualification, Mark May, the owner of the network that has Rush Limbaugh, and Rush Limbaugh should know that this letter that they're auctioning is going to be something that raises money for a really worthwhile cause. I don't know what we could do more important than helping make sure that children of our fallen soldiers and police officers who have fallen in the line of duty have the opportunity for their children to have a good education. Think about this. More than $2 million, this is going to really help. And that's, again, an understatement. There's only a little bit of time left.
RUSH: Wait 'til you hear what's coming.
HARRY REID: -- so I would ask those that are wanting to do more, that they can go to the Harry Reid, search -- actually go on say "Harry Reid letter," this will come up on eBay. I encourage anyone interested in this with the means to do so to consider bidding on this letter and contributing to this worthwhile cause.
RUSH: Hang on here.
HARRY REID: I strongly believe that when we can put our differences aside, even Harry Reid and Rush Limbaugh, we should do that and try to accomplish good things for the American people.
RUSH: Okay. Put our differences aside? Has he apologized? He is trying to horn in and act like he's part of this whole thing, folks. This is unbelievable! And now he's out there soliciting contributions on eBay, and believe me, this is what he hopes, of all of the past two weeks, that the Drive-Bys pick up on.
Transcript from Friday's Rush Limbaugh show. (http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_101907/content/01125109.guest.html)

Funny, john's version of the transcript was quite different and incoherent. You *are* providing translation for john, aren't ya? :D
That being said, Rush is acting petulant? Really? :aok
p.s. Now we see what seems to be more important to Rush, and it doesn't look like charity at all. ;)
p.p.s. And yeah, I don't think congress should be trying to make Rush stop expressing his opinion anymore than anyone else. He's perfectly capable of making himself look stupid and should be allowed to. :D

Talk about incoherent.
-
1: john's not good at forming political posts.
2: Rush is acting all petulant over Reid pitching in to help the ebay letter for charity, which tells me charity wasn't really what it was all about for Rush.
3: No, congress shouldn't muffle political opinion even if it's Rush's (bout the worst example of gasbag there is).
Sorry, that's about as dummied down as I can make it. :D

Then what was it about for Rush?
It was all about the charity. To say otherwise implies that he was counting on somthing like this happening.
All Rush is doing by "acting all petulant" over Reid "pitching in to help" was point out the absurdity of what Reid was actually trying to do...and that was save face.
Hell, the whole reason for writing the letter in the first place was an attempt to save face (the General Betrayus thingy by MoveOn.org did not make the dems look to good). The letter backfired and Reid needed to do something to try to get in on the good side of it.

Mmmmmmwhatever. Pissed at Reid for helping. Damn you, Reid! Time to pee in neocon diaper. ;)

With nothing of any consequence to add to the discussion Arlo proves he has what it takes to become a Democratic Senator who can't compete in an arena of ideas.

The "distinguished gentleman" from Tampa Bay seems to be making his own case, as well. I yield the floor back. ;)

Well, at this point its very clear who has more integrity and it ain't Reid...
Arlo if you really got nothing just say so and stop babbling incoherently, its like you popped an extra zanibar or two and washed it down with a beer.

Having three 8-10 years old in the house gives me a good even playing field of experience for talking to liberals on this BBS, the similarities are so many and quite funny when you notice them which is often lately.
Media matters was started by Hillary Clinton,we all know how balanced that's going to be, as about as balanced as Pravda during the 80's, ohh. wait Pravda admitted to being unbalanced...bad example...my bad...
