when flying a differt plane ,would that make your appoach differt

Not much of a difference, no. What plane did you have in mind?

Fixing the right sight picture in your mind for bombs and rockets can be done in the Training Arena. A lead-computing marker (green +) automatically appears when you load ordnance in the hanger.

Basically, differences in aim point are only depending on speed and dive angle.
Plane differences are thus only important as you may dive at different angles / speeds with different planes due to maneuverability issues or G restrictions.
Note: the steeper your dive angles is, the less important your airspeed is at time of drop

Is there a certain height you have to drop from to make sure your bombs detonate?

Bombs have to travel a certain distance to arm themselves.. it might be 800yds, but I'm not sure - someone else please confirm.
However, this is the total flight distance. Minimum altitude thus depends on the bomb's trajectory, i.e. the more shallow your dive angle is, the lower the minimum alt is. But be careful not to get caught in your own blast.

Bombs arm after 1000' of travel. Remember that it includes the horizontal vector of travel also. The altitude of your drop to have a bomb arm depends on speed and angle. The more shallow the angle and faster you are, the lower you can drop.
Bombs have an arming delay to prevent any bomb collisions right after drop from causing a detonation, which could seriously ruin a pilots day.
