Still going through DGS, I haven't decided which event is going to run next.

I have toyed with the idea of running DGS over as a side switch, we'll see how things go.

Give us some time to put together a good Rabaul scenario based on Raptor's map work

We;ve got the 38Gs to filll the 39th FS, 80th FS an the 475th FG.  Gotta believe we could get some RNZAF P40 pilots an Boston pilots to go with USAAF B25C strafers and A20Gs.  Marines around with the early F4U=1, maybe the Jolly Roger B24s.

Of course you'd have Tonies, Zekes Kates and Buffs based on Rabaul at their different bases.  Need to figure out how to ring the harbor with flak and fill it full of shipping for those low alt strafer attacks that were so risky and deadly.

I've always liked the Rabaul style events, maybe even a Coral Sea again, now that CVs can be hardened.

Lot's of possibilities.  But yes, Raptors Rab map would be fun.

At some point in the future (not the next scenario by any means -- not anytime soon), I'd like to investigate doing an eastern-front scenario, Germans vs. Russians.  (I got inspired by reading a book recently about those air battles.)

ROC if you go with the Battle of Santa Cruz you can tie in some land action as well against Guadalcanal.

I won the PH Scenarios - but I helped DESIGNED the MIDWAY scenario.

That was my pride and joy - next to the 2000 AW CON.

Midway terrain probably has a better shot at being complete before Pearl, would be a fun one for sure.

"Niemens" was run a few years ago. That could bring a GV content in as well. I don't know if the map is good anymore, though..

Ummm... yeah. :)

Actually, Midway IS done, I just have to get off my lazy butt and get it into Skuzzy. Raptor did a fine job, another beautiful Pacific map by him. :aok

Pearl is another matter. :huh

Pearl will happen when it's ready, it's one of those "special" things lol

In the mean time, perhaps after BoB and DGS we might be ready for a Pacific Furball or something.

I think Fencer's got something up his sleeve, with Santa Cruz, Jordi has Midway spinning around and maps near done.
Sounds like a nod towards the pacific, for at least a general Heading.

But, we Are gonna have to time this so GB can be a fleet admiral again, he had to miss Operation Downfall by being out of the country.  Jordi, I think GB actually cried over that one, Japan had around 20 fleets on the Allied side :D

The nice thing about the Rabaul, Fall of 43 time frame is you've got the Solomons, New Guiniea and all the carrier stuff going on around it too.

Marine birds, RNZAF, RAAF,  USN carriers,  USAAF mediums, heavies and fighters.  Japanese army and navy birds and so on.

The variety of aircraft would be fun.  Of course the 80th Headhunters were heavily involved too so.......:)

Nope Fencer has nothing up his sleeve on Santa Cruz but a heck of a bunch of reference books..

If you want a design done based around that battle let me know and I can put something together for the CM team to work with.

Midway would be a good one to do next because the terrain is ready to be broken in... Then maybe something on the Eastern Front or MTO. By then a Rabaul terrain could be ready.

If we do midway - BIG BOLD TEXT Would have to say on all web pages and emails to both sides.

BE PREPARED TO FLY A LOT AND MAYBE NOT SEE A TARGET ALL DAY !

IF YOU CAN NOT LIVE WITH THIS FACT - DO NOT REGISTER !

SCOUT PILOTS WILL BE IN BIG DEMAND

If you think about it, flying Japanese could be more interesting because you would have a stationary target in Midway Island.

You guys really need to breath a lil. It takes MONTHS to come up with a scenarios rules, design, map, get registration ready etc. The next one is being worked on I'm sure, just hang in there. When the CM team is ready they will announce it.

DGS will not be run as a side switch event. The only reason I know this is because both sides orders have been opened to the public.

Next event is under construction, it'll be after the new year though.  Events don't do well over Christmas holidays :)  Probably early February.

Just about the time we are all sick of the cold, we're liable to land on a tropical island.

Why be him, when I can be George Gay?

I'll sit in the water for two frames and find a nice spot to observe the IJN cvs.
