Skuzzy what is the highest widescreen resolution supported by AH?
-
Whatever the video card/monitor supports. Check the option to show all the resolutions in the game's "Video Settings". Those are the ones reported by the video card to be supported.
-
my 7800GS CO pushes my 24" widescreen at 1920×1200 in AH without any problem
-
As long as AH doesnt have problems with aspect ratios of 16:9 I wont have any problems then?

AH has no problem with 16:9 but you may without Track IR with the top n bottom of your view cropped.

I have TrackIR. Is there an optimum aspect ratio?
-
At 16:9, the top and bottom of the screen is cropped in Aces High II.

1024 x 768 is a 4:3 format
1280 x1024 is a 5:4 format
In the cockpit you will see the same from left to right with both resolutions, but top to buttom there will be more visible with 5:4
If the 1024x768 resolution is equalized to the 1280x1024 resolution without changing aspect ratio it would be:
(1024*1,25) x (768*1,25) = 1280 x 960 (which is 1024-960=64 vertical pixels less than the 1280x1024 resolution)

Yes, the 1280x1024 resolution is the odd one. DirectX is doing the aspect ratio adjustments there though.
Technically, the game supports 4:3 natively.
-
Im using a 42" widescreen at 16:9 but the native resolution (1360x768) is not so good. From what I learned in this thread I went looking for one that supports a more appropriate ratio but so far the largest I can find is 32". If anyone finds something closer to one meter (40 or 42") that supports a 4:3 ratio please post about it.

I don't have Track IR, so for gameplay I use 1280 x1024 with my 60" Sony displaying 1920x1080p.
-
I seem to do 1440x900 just fine

I did 1920x1080 just fine, also but can't live with the cropped view.
