You can't just blame boosh, there trees and flowers burning to. To put the blame on type of plant for causing this fire smacks of bigotry.
for shame.

Nonsense, I heard some limos collided when trying to get to the home owners' private helicopters. Some "you are so not invited to my party" were heard.

Nobody's shooting at rescue or fire aircraft/helos either. And I read that some people who lost their houses and ended up at refugee shelters are actually volunteering their time to make life better for everyone else in the shelter, instead of b**ching/moaning about how unfair life is and how the country owes them something.
WTF over?

This whole ordeal smacks of a conspiricy. A congressional investigation should be carried out to find out the reason for no rioting ,killing , looting , price gouging etc.
We as americans should be up in arms over this entire ordeal.
I cannot believe things have to come to this for people to realise that each of us has something to offer in way of an SUV , HUMMER , Ferrari , Beemer , or some other trashy vehicle to donate to these people.
I for one will NOT be sending ANY type of aid to these people. If they can get thier crap together that easy then I say the heak with em. I won't help em a bit.
It's sickening to no end.....I may need some type of theropy after this is all done.
-
BTW if you or anyone you know is being effected by the fires.
I heard a little while ago that Google Maps is updating their imagry every couple of hours in the effected areas.
-
Reports keep pouring in... Looters being chased away by neighbors because the cops are busy saving people, hotels giving fire refugees price discounts... A mom who had her house burn down telling her daughter "We'll be ok, because we're stong" instead of hollering for handouts and demanding stuff... It's crazy. How can those people live with themselves?
-
certain members of a "minority" group are howling for creditcards "like dem da katrina peoples got". I haven't seen it but a neighbor was commenting on it.

Its the improper fire breaks. These things have been neglected for YEARS and the feds should have been putting money into this long ago. It's a travesty. An absolute scam and someone needs to be held accountable for this.
MORE MONEY FOR CALI. FIRE BREAKS!!!!!!!
I call for more rioting and shooting of someone by some..
-
I'm considering calling my congressman demanding that he condemn the lack of proper victimization during this time of tragedy. It's an outrage.

Fire breaks would not have done it! It is a good idea for normal fires.
-
If they were true victims, they'd be complaining that the motor home wasn't something or other good enough, on tv saying some govt official or another owes them something, and in general stomping their feet over the injustices being done to them.
Realize I'm being sarcastic... My point is that although So Cal has it's share of true "victims" in this disaster, they are mostly avoiding the stereotypical poor behavior that we've come to expect from American victims who usually expect the govt to bail them out and who loudly claim various rights to handouts while saying they're being treated poorly by the people who are trying to help out.
And lots of regular people and businesses are helping too, without waiting for the govt to step in. Why wait for the govt to do something when the people can help their neighbors themselves?

Yea... Fire breaks really wouldn't have helped. It's hard to imagine a bigger fire break than interstate 15 (6 or more lanes in each direction) and the fire leaped that no problem.
Calif is BIG. You could run a thousand buldozers 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, and you couldn't create a tenth of the fire breaks you'd need to halt a wildfire this year. This fire season was unusually dry.
If it was arson, they couldn't have picked a better (worse) time to start the fires. The conditions were absolutely perfect for the fires to get out of control. The fact that this doesn't happen every year says a lot about the quality of calif fire prevention efforts since the whole place is pretty much one big tinderbox anyhow.
I think the only thing that would help would be a much larger effort into systematic controlled burns. That would help clear out a lot of the deadwood that burns so hot and so fast, that usually gets burned out naturally from lightning strikes and other natural fires. We halt those fires and the deadwood stays around, so after a while you get a really dangerous situation. Most forests actively haul out deadwood but some places really need to be burned every few years to control the deadwood buildup.

Russia has the best fleet of firefighting planes. These things are huge. Russia offered to send them to help the southern Calif fires but was turned down.
Damn govt bureaucracy...

Feds Won't Allow Russian Firefighting Planes (http://www.drudge.com/news/99970/feds-wont-allow-russian-firefighting-planes)
A fleet of Russian supertankers designed for fighting fires anywhere in the world could be deployed in the U.S., but they've never been approved for use here. A similar plane that has been put to use in California can drop water over a mile-long 300-feet wide swath in eight seconds and be refilled in eight minutes. Such a firefighting weapon "can be a game-changer," said owner Rick Hatton.

we can't put out forest fires and we can't change the climate of the planet.

Could be the fact that the whole city is not destroyed. Just one end is slowly being set on fire.
Food and water can still make it in and people are not starving. Housing is available all over, hotels are open and people can drive to other citry with out issues.
They also don't have militant contractors down there threating people and trying to take the guns.
This is nothing like Katrina not even close. Maybe if the city was cut off and surrounded by flames for a week or 2 with out food or water, building destroyed all over then it may be close.

These are not normal fires. These are RACIST fires!!!! Right now jackson and sharpton are trying to find out which race the fire is so they can determine if they will be able to protest the fires.

your not to bright!
These fires were 60mph+wind driven fires. We have FIRES around here all the time and fire breaks do help, just not in this case!

The fires in San Diego stretched from the US/Mexico border all the way up to Orange, Riverside and Imperial Counties. The communities of Ramona, Poway, Rancho Bernardo are virtually gone. Half the population of San Diego was ordered to evacuate. Hardly a case of just one end slowly being set in fire. Optimistic estimates put just 1/4 of the city destroyed but more realistic figures are much more dire.
Food and water can still make it in and people are not starving. Housing is available all over, hotels are open and people can drive to other citry with out issues.[/b]
San Diego is in a desert, it doesn't have a real fresh water supply and relies on resevoirs for the city's drinking water. These resevoirs were put out of action because of the fires that raged all around them. San Diegans were told to conserve water and electricy because both were in very short supply.
No, housing was not available all over, how can it be when almost the entire city was under orders to either voluntary evacuate or were under mandatory evacuation? The Navy ordered all land based sailors to report to naval ships in port to free up the barracks on the bases so they can be used to house those that had to evacuate their homes.
One of my sisters and her fiancee had to evacuate to El Centro in the Imperial Valley because because the I-8 was closed between Alpine and El Cajon because the fire was burning on both sides of the interstate. I-15 was closed down because of the same thing. I-5 was also closed down. For a couple of days the only way to get out of San Diego was either travel south into Mexico or by plane. Train service out of San Diego was closed as well because the tracks were threatened by the fire that was raging through Pendelton.
This is nothing like Katrina not even close. Maybe if the city was cut off and surrounded by flames for a week or 2 with out food or water, building destroyed all over then it may be close. [/B]
Tell that to my brother, two sisters and their families that no longer have a home.

I've heard that these fires are so large because that area has not caught fire in a long while. Fires are a natural occurance in almost any forest. The underbrush and dried vegetation has been bulking up for years. The increased dried vegetation, along with wind, has created more fuel for the fire.
There needs to be more controlled burns to ensure that these "mega fires" never occur again. Also, why bring up Katrina? That was 2 years ago. Relief/Rescue efforts have seemingly gone very well. Unfortunately, homes were lost and my prayers go out to those families.

Oh, wait about 2 weeks, they are still under the assumption that Premium Platinum Diamond Triple Coverage Fire Insurance Policy is actually worth the paper it was printed on.
Delusional:rolleyes:
My sympathies to all those affected. Fire destroyed my home some years ago. No one is prepared to be homeless. My thanks to all those who were there then and pitched in and allowed us to make the best of it:aok

Only Half the population was told to evaculate, the hotels are still open All the bulding in the city are not destroyed
THey have both food and water. they are only being asked to conserve
and transportation was cut for a couple days
Im sorry for your family's loss and i am glad they are safe and in a state not owned by the insurance companies. they will get compensated for loss and not screwed by the insurance companies
But this does not even come close to Katrina and is even silly to compare
San Diego has not been cut off for weeks. the infrastructure of the state has not been completely destroyed. people are not starving in the evacuation centers for over a week. The building of most of the city are not even damaged. people can leave if they want to and the hotels are operating in most of the city!
Its a complete joke that fema is patting themselves on the back about how well they are doing with this disaster compared to Katrina when this disaster is like a minor league team.
I feel for the 1500 lost homes and the last time i looked 20 people that have died,
But comparing how people are acting in San Diego to how people acted in new Orleans is silly, its not even close to being similar
Edit:
This may have came off more harsh then i wanted.
This is a natural disaster that will hurt A lot of people. But it is disgusting. to compare how people are acting there to the complete disaster Katrina Caused and how the people acted in new Orleans.

there is plenty of bad things that can be said for kalifornia but...
we have always had an effective insurance commison...even under democrats.
In my opinion.. that is what government should do.. make sure that people uphold their contracts. Keep their word.

The good news, is that because of California's strict gun laws no firearm was used in the commission of this arson.
