That you just got your arse kicked by some mascots?

two guys get jumped by mascots (http://www.break.com/index/bunch-of-mascots-beat-up-two-guys.html)

I did want to go to Russia one day but if gangs of mascots roam freely among the streets beating people up, I think I'll book my vacation plans elsewhere.

There's a group of Japanese people that dress up as different things and chase single people down roads. They all gather up behind buildings at the end and wait for someone to come strolling up the alley and all burst around the corner at once.

perhaps they were being "kicked in" to the gang.
