Why do people on 200 mostly Knights say everytime someone talks about being ho'ed they go Takes two to ho. It doesnt take two it takes one and the other can try to avoid but hard once u guys are 1k and gaining they say takes two to ram but someone can intentionaly Ram someone i have done it before so please explain why knights say Takes two to ram and hoe
-
I am a knight, and I say neither. I find both statements to be inaccurate at some level.
-
well one Knight that agrees....thank you your first person i asked that agrees with me on the hoe and ram saying "takes two"
-
Once in a great while a Ho is annavoidable yes, but normaly it does take 2 to fly strait at each other.
Its a game of chicken and someone has to lose, just cause u pull out first dosnt mean u tried to avoid it.
It is not just the knights that do it also its every country.
U also have to ask yourself what u were doing with u got hoed.
Where u flying low over a capped field taking out ack? where u on a cons six and anothe con came screaming in to save him?
or was it a co ant co e 1 on 1? in my opinion that should be about the only time u should complain about a ho, and even then there are ways to avoid it.
-
I'm a rook and it really takes 2 to HO. And it is easy to avoid in most of the cases.

Saw a f4u-1a last night about 4.5k away co-alt and it was coming towards me from about 12:30, I was going to see if it was interested in fighting me then saw tracers flying from 800yrds out as it passed. It was definitely trying for cheap shot as it apparently was not interested in setting up a fight. I turned and followed it and then it got jumped and went to the deck under friendlies. Once under friendlies it started to reverse the plane that chased it down there. I dropped in and popped the HO bag: SYSTEM: You have shot WarlockL down.!:aok

-The following is a general statement not aimed at anyone in particular-
two planes merging head on. What is so difficult to undertsand about this?
if you are constantly whining about HOs then you really need to find another game to play because, unless HTC builds a anti-HO bubble into the code, your going to get HO'd -so stop your whining about it.
-
I go into every fight ASSUMING that the FIRST move someone will pull on me is the HO, and I'm usually right, regardless of what front I am on, it seems like the HO is the ONLY move most know.
I think that's a good thing, and I am a Knight.
It makes my tactical plan to kill them easier.
If someone comes in on the merge, does an Immelman or Split S, or YoYo....I know I have an experienced stick on my hands, and that I will have my hands full.
Sadly (for the vast majority) most just go for the HO. I simply rudder-skid off to one side or the other and loop over. Attempted HO'er goes boom.
It's usually the same old rides too: LA, P-51, NiK1, Spit 16....LA, P-51, NiK1, Spit 16....LA, P-51, NiK1, Spit 16....LA, P-51, NiK1, Spit 16....LA, P-51, NiK1, Spit 16....ad infinitum.
Keep 'em coming...we'll keep killing them.
NEXT!

A HO is 100% avoidable in a "merge" scenario. This is completely serperate from two planes turning into each other in a furball situation. The confusion comes in the fact that a front quarter shot is unavoidable. It is in fact 100% impossible to deny every potential snapshot on a merge....which is why duels are normally flown "guns cold". The reality is that flying the most aggresive merge often creates a window for a FQ shot by your opponent....interstingly so does the most conservative merge. The only way to actually have a "HO" is for both planes to fly right at each other with a guns solution. Most people who suffer from being "HO'd" have poor merge technique. Establishing the proper vertical and horizontal seperation in the 4.0-2.5 range solves 98% of the problem.
The 2nd major cause for a "head on" is in the two circle fight. This is a preferable and readily recognized valid ACM choice for certain plane types/matchups. This fight actually comes down to managing front quarter to front quarter shot windows and is similiar to a thatch weave in that regard. It was widely utilized in the pac by 38 drivers etc when fighting zekes and similiar planes.
The simple reality is that less then 10% (and I'm betting closer to 1%) of "HO's" actually are. The vast majority are simply poorly defended front quarter shots.
As for forcing a ram....you really cant.
Why? Simply because the other isnt actually where you see him. The variation might be small or might be suprisingly large. If you actually do get the other guys plane to hit you on your front end he probably missed you on his. The reality is simple...almost all "rams" are caused by the aggresor failing to control his angle of attack and rate of closure. A "ram" is simply an overshoot that didnt happen becuae you ran into the guy instead. So the guy complaining was actually already beat by the evasive move. Now there is a small % where the defender forces the overshoot and does ram the guy during the overshoot...here the reality is that the other guy was on your 6 and had a shot that missed...dont give him the shot and he cant ram you.
Again 90%+ (and I'll go with 99% again) of "rams" are clearly the work of the guy who gets the tag. Fly correctly and you'll get an occasional ram or occasional "golden bb" but if you suffer more then a single HO or ram a tour you need work on your ACM...
-
Very very simple to avoid a HO, just turn. I always turn, roll, split-s, or immelman when in a HO situation. Sometimes I even let off a quik sharp burst 1.5K out and hit their engine oil :D . A few times I've been PM'd "You HoTard!" after shooting someone down when they chose to HO, and only ONCE have I been PM'd (and this is my fav pm) "You tard! You cant dodge a HO you're suppose to be locked into a HO!! ) :rofl
-
The loudest HO whine I have ever heard, came from someone who does nothing but try a HO on the merge..
Sorry raider73, you can't HO solo. It's like the tango, it takes two. If you don't go HO with them, they CAN'T HO you.
If you can show me how that's possible I will pay for your subscription for a month. Dial me up when you can demonstrate it.
-
It always takes two to HO, here's why.
If you dodge the HO attempt and still get hit the other guy made a "high angle crossing shot".
No judgments, just the way it is.
If you want to complain say. "Your a dweeb for going for the HO". Doesn't take two to "go for the HO". :D

The only thing that gives me a bigger woody than HOing someone is killing their chute afterwards.

Any of you (AH challenged) people that think the following:
1) It takes 2 to HO
2) HOs are easy to avoid
3) You are going to kill the guy that went for the HO easily
want to bet some money on it let me know and we will try it.

That is true ... If I can't shoot you at the same time u can shoot me ... then it's not a true Head-On. If only one of gets a guns solutions, then it's not an HO ... most (AH challenged) interpret a very high deflection shot as an HO.
2) HOs are easy to avoid
I always avoid the HO shot when merging 1 v 1 ... If I do get hit, it is due to a high deflection shot, and at the same time, I don't have a guns solution (see above) so I did avoid the HO, but got nailed on the deflection shot.
3) You are going to kill the guy that went for the HO easily
99.9999% of the time ... the guy that truly tries for the HO ... spraying at 1K out until after the merge ... dies.
I don't want your money ... u need it to keep up your supply of Ouzo ... :p

Ha, thats the definition of a HO not how many people it takes. For example, when you twisting and turning with a couple of guys and a third dives in with the intent of HOing you it did not take two to HO. You did not see him coming and you are probably too slow to do anything about it. So, even though it took two planes lined up for it to be a HO, it only took 1 guy to force it.
2) HOs are easy to avoid

Exactly my point. I am not talking about some nube firing from 2K out in a 202 lol. If the HOer knows what he is doing and you are already within 2K you will lose parts. You will either expose your belly, end up turning at the merge too early etc. So, even though you avoided the HO it was probably worth taking in, lol. After all, I can avoid a HO by lawndarting but that is not a valid option. I guess I should have said successfully avoid the HO, lol.
3) You are going to kill the guy that went for the HO easily

Again, you confuse HOs and nubes. That guy was dead anyway. The dedicated HOers don't HO like that. They hold fire until the last second, lol.

Ahh ... hair-splitting at its finest.

Ummm ... I still can't totally agree with this.
Again, you confuse HOs and nubes
Not really ... that's where the 00.0001% fits in.
Then you are too old ...

I fly the a-20 70% or more of the time right now. Its big slow and easy to hit and I havent been HO'd in 5 months. Thats zero out of 600 or more sorties and its over all types of encounters.
As I said earlier its just about impossible to totally deny A FQ shot...but I almost never lose parts on one (does happen once in awhile). Obviously the end result of a HO Attempt will vary (there are times where the high deflection FQ shot is actually consistant with "good ACM"....but the vast majority of the time the guy who forces the FQ shot has given up alot. Now if he's in a Tiffie, D9, 47N etc and has already elected to fly a B&Z style of fight then he may in fact have suffered no attrition in his position. however if he continues to pull g's and engage then hes at a significant disadvantage.
The issue here is one of a "straight in" HO attack vs an experienced stick whos created seperation and angular advantage and is looking for an opportunity for a FQ shot excecuted within the framework of a good merge. If the "HO attempt" is forced from an inferior position then the HOer will die unless he's a superior pilot or does in fact knock of a control surface or cause a pilot wound.
-
All I am saying is lets try it. I may be wrong but I think I am right. I think by trying to avoid, you are at the disadvantage not the HOer.
Don't confuse new player with HOs. The new guy would have died anyway after the merge.

It depends on how you avoid.. 8) Most times it will but the HOer at a disadvantage to the HOe..

Why? Remember when you answer, do not assume a nube on the other plane but someone that knows how to fight. Why would he end up in a disadvantaged position? Don't assume he will follow through with guns blazing. Assume he will cut throttle and follow you as you break. That is what I want to try.
Someone new would be dead no matter what merge so it does not count

Ded,
anytime we're in the DA lets fool around with it. But lets look at it from a "you vs me" scenario in the DA. Your a better dueler then I am, if we're going for a merge and we have the "guns on" are you really going to look for a "HO" vs flyng your normal merge? I think that in the end your going to fly your normal merge because its good ACM. I dont think your going to give up good position for a marginal shot window....
Now we both know that many reasonably exerienced sticks are fundementally weak on the merge...so yes...you could establish the under, work in a bit of horizontal seperation for the hook and then fly an aggresive hook that gives you angles, E and a decent FQ shot window.
Now if we look at the concept of an "angles HO" then its really not. Your viewing what is esentially a "fake HO" to an aggresive angles opener that relies on the other guy flying in avoidence mode...not someone who has vis on you and is flying a "good" read and react merge.
Basically what your really saying is you can fly an aggresive line looking for an early merge to an all out angles attack off a good hook....basically 80% of all the spitV duels ever flown:)....

Poor SA there then. But you are correct that if I am fully committed in a move, and some other nme comes in and faces shoots me, I couldn't avoid it. (but 99% of the time I DO see it coming)
BUT.
I put myself in that position. 100% my fault I was unable to maneuver. Usually I decide my death is worth killing the guy i'm about to shoot down and allow the HO and put myself in that position so I can kill someone.
I would also add that in 3-8 on 1 situations it's RARELY a ho that gets me (even if all 3-8 of 'em are trying to). Generally I get shot from behind pulling an offensive maneuver to shoot one of 'em down.

I get ho'd 1000's of times a tour. I get HIT maybe 30. I take damage maybe 1/2 that, and actually die to one maybe 3-4. I'll merge with ya' as many times as you want dedalos. It will be rare indeed that you land a bullet, let alone shoot me down.
EXAMPLE: Last night I was low and slow in a 110 and was being attacked by a well known pilot in a LaLa. This pilot can actually fight btw. He ho'd my squaddie and killed 'em and then came for me. I don't recally how many passes they took on me, but we fought for a good 5-6 min at least. Time enough for my squaddie to re-up, fly back over (sector ish) and shoot 'em down. They landed ONE bullet on me. (took out my right elevator, and that was just me being sloppy. Wasn't, and didn't let THAT happen again)
WHY they didn't just chop throttle and saddle up on my 110 I have no idea. Lord knows if I was the la7 driver that 110 woulda lasted only a couple of moves.

They are STILL out of position trying for a face shot. The last second types are actually a bit easier to kill, as they are still holding down the trigger as I am 1/2 way around on them. You pull a face shot on me, you really have one option. Run like heck. You attempt any offensive maneuver after your HO, you will die, and die quick. If they DO just extend, typcially after the 3rd to 4th failed HO attempt they will try a "move" and that's where the fun begins. (tower time for the bad guy)

You will be starting the fight out of position. The pilot that did the lead turn while you were face shooting is starting the fight at a HUGE advantage.

Ok. Now that I have more than a few mins to post...
"It takes two to HO"
This is an absolutely useless, worthless fracking, false words of wisdom from the peanut gallery type of statment. What does this add to a discussion?
For example, let's chage it to "It takes two to have a two car accident". Thank you Sherlock Holmes, you genious. Does that tell us what happened in the incident? Does that absolve one or both parties who caused the incident to happen? Supposedly that is the implication with "It takes two to HO". Appearently that means either nobody or both are to blame for a HO happening.
Fact is however, and your discussion clearly proves this, that a HO is sometimes a comepletely valid tactic, and other times it is a stupid choice of tactic among numerous better options.
So really, if you were not a party to, or a witness to the HO in question, you really have no constructive input to add to the resulting discussion. You are in no position to judge which scenario that specific incident fell under. "takes two to HO" is just a idiotic trolling non-statment, and the speaker can go _____ themselves in my opinion.
-
I'll Ho a 262.
-
Oh deadalot, still sore you can rarely beat me? I think I'm up what... 30 to 3 or so? And that's me putting up a polite number.
-
I REALLY try to avoid HO's, as most hoERS are tiffy's, nikis or Lgheys who only need ONE golden bb to, at the very least, hit my oil or 'main fuel' (jug)---its a very low% move, and I prefer to at least hold out the hope ill get more then 1 kill per death--but try as I might, roll, dive, etc, these lil bastids often do hit me with that golden bb, which validates their dweebish tactic ( I think biggest problem is I don't pick up on it until they've closed from 1.5ish to 800ish....not sure if it's better to roll out sooner or later))

Here is an incident from last night. (Readers Digest Versioni)
I am flying a Typhie and went out at alt to find bad guy willing to be my cherry pick prey. (LOL) I find two lone bad guys well outside the furball I was intending to get to. So I dove in and after a few attempts on said badguys pinged one up, smoker and parts flying. He is rtb damage never saw him again. Second is a niki and he makes an attempt to jink and dodge trying to bleed off my E advantage. After a few moves I have lost some of my alt, but have ended up on his dead 6. I fire off a burst and kaboom, Kill 1.
I am now around 4000 feet and slow from trying to follow the nik without the overshoot. (We all know how lousy the Typhie flies when slow). As I look around, I see a 110 diving in from dead ahead 1.5K out. He started with both a speed and alt advantage. Yet, he dives in directly on the nose and levels off at 1K out headed right at me. At D800 I see the steady stream of tracers from all his cannons opening up. I pushed down slightly to try and get enough speed to even think about manuevering the Typhie and was trying to stay under the shots. By now, he had pushed down enough to stay on angle with me and actually pinged me around D400. I pulled back up to go high over his nose and avoid the pinging cannons and at D200, I let off a burst of my own cannon before successully going over the top of his plane.
As he has both the speed, E, and manueverabilty advatange at the moment, I looked back to see what his move was going to be before I decided my next move. It would seem that my volley was on the mark as his 110 was flaming badly and he was descending. A few moments later, I get a PM from non-said tard with a mock salute and a message, "Nice Ram ". (For the record, I never got a collision message)
So, let me get this straight, non-said 110 driver takes up a Ho-ing machine has both the speed and alt advatantage, sets-up a HO shot while I am engaged with another bandit. Opens up at between D1000 and D800, maintains a steady stream of cannon fire the entire time and countering every small move I make trying to keep his cannons on my nose; and, then when he dies, sends a PM talking trash. Does that about sum it up? How does one in good conscience set up a HO on a barely manueverable plane then complain about a ram? (LOL)
So, my question for this discussion thread (and this is not sarcastic, I truly want suggestions).... Once I have become low and slow and can barely turn, and another guy is intent on going for the HO (with the mighty Ho-monster) what are some feasible options for avoiding?
To save the trouble, yes, I am aware of the SA answer, don't let yourself get caught low and slow when there are other bandits in the area. That aside, I have made the mistake of ending up in the disadvantaged position and Ho-queen is coming in. What are suggestions on the escape and reversal when manuevering is limited?
>S< Thank you
-
Hehe, this is where someone that can't fly his way out of a paper bag comes in and tells you that it is your fault for having bad SA and that you should have been flying more realistically.

Seems to me that you picked the best option. Four thousand is still pretty high, you did right to push the nose over. Typhoons are pretty good at picking up speed. You regained enough energy to pull up and over him without stalling out. Had the collision not occurred, this might not have been a good thing to do, though; you would have been VERY slow and close to a plane that outturned you at those speeds.
All planes do their best turning when pointed straight up or straight down - when vertical, just roll to the desired direction and pull down (or up, as the case may be!). This is especially useful for the heavy slow turners like the Typhoon. Next time you're in these circumstances give it a try.

I'm no ACM expert, but this is what occurs to me:
Nose down throws the shot off, but only moves you in one plane. Guys who start shooting way out aren't generally even the best HOers, so it seems to me that adding a second plane of maneuver would very likely be enough to throw his aim completely off for the initial, most dangerous merge. By changing the flight path continuously, he has to continuously readjust the lead even more than I would (cause he has to point AHEAD of me to get a hit), burning E all the while. And, by doing a lead turn before the merge, I'm going to be set up to get out of there much easier.
I might have nosed down, then giving just enough time for him to react to the first move roll a bit and pull up into a flattish yo yo or wing over. Assuming the miss, the *plan* after that would be to roll into an off angle egress, to force him to yank the stick around and burn some of that E while letting me stay straight, nose down, wep on, and both pick up speed and range as he sets up a tail chase.
Had a problem similar to that last week when I joined an aggressive squaddie who was engaged low and slow on the deck 1v3 before I got there. He's much more willing to die to get the one kill than I am, so when we broke free of the scrum briefly he went right back in...and it was now a 1v2.
I was in P51D and was against Spixteen and Lala, with me having a very small energy advantage. The long and the short of it is that I used energy conservation as best I could while moderately trying to get a shot on one or the other, but also looking for the chance to break free. (We were a bit out of the way, but way closer to their base than to ours.) The other two were yanking sticks all over the sky trying for immediate shots, which meant that when I topped out on a barrel roll and saw the hole I was able to complete the rollout with a separating dive.
And the net effect was that within 15 seconds I was 1.0 out, and by a minute I was 1.5 and extending. The other two are much better accelerators, but had to go from a standing start.
The point being, of course, that using angles and energy conservation while forcing the enemy to use up both can translate into major tactical advantage.

ISo, my question for this discussion thread (and this is not sarcastic, I truly want suggestions).... Once I have become low and slow and can barely turn, and another guy is intent on going for the HO (with the mighty Ho-monster) what are some feasible options for avoiding?
>S< Thank you
This is actually the same question I have.
The HO is, or can be, a good move from the standpoint that it forces me (the HO-ee) to maneuver my plane to avoid. At the very least, by going nose low there, I've given up angles to the other plane already. Against a good stick, that alone is probably enough to be fatal.
If the HO-er in that situation leveled out instead of trying to keep the pipper on you, then he's already in the position of advantage.
Unfortunately, unlike most of you, I get killed all too often in that situation. I jink to move out of the way of the tracers and end up getting hit anyway.

Heres the rub...
You don't ever manuever to avoid the HO...you dont have to. What you do is manuever to position yourself correctly in relation to your adversary. This just about eliminates the HO 100%. By simply doing the "correct" thing you eliminate the HO and convert it to a FQ shot. Now your simply managing his lift vector at the merge.
He has a very finite range of movement....while it is just about impossbile to merge and completely deny any shot of any kind you can create an almost impossible shot window that creates significant angular advantage for you and potential significant E advantage as well. The simple reality is that it is very hard to hit a reasonably fast out of plane target under high G loads.
If your flying to avoid the HO then by definition your flying a bad "merge". If your flying to maximize your tactical situation you've already eliminated the HO before hes in effective guns range...
-
DON'T jink. Jinking means you're varying your course along a basic line -- if the HO'er throws bullets down the middle you're likely to fly into them.
What we're calling a "lead turn" is really the same kind of planning ahead that quarterbacks and recievers so all the time. Position yourself for where the opponent is going to be instead of where he is right now!
So, when you see someone coming straight at you, start turning well before you get there, judging things so you would "drop on his 6" 400 behind him, with you now flying the same direction he is. A lead turn can be horizontal or vertical (ie a half loop), and each kind will have different timing.
If you intend to go striaght through -- maybe you're chasing one guy and another tries to throw you off his buddy by HOing you -- then just do a barrell roll. His "targeting solution" needed to hit you will spin all over the sky, and he'll never keep up with the curve. After you pass him, flatten out and contnue in the desired direction.

And this is what I think of when I hear "it takes 2 to HO." If I'm doing my job well, the flat Head on pass just doesnt happen.
There are times I end up in a tough HO situation, but its almost always when I'm in a turn or loop fight and we get out of phase -- so our noses are turning into each other. When equal angular position, it's a HO, but it's a very very different shot than the one most people talk about.

And that will get you killed. Can someone that duels a lot back me on this? What happens if you turn too early at the merge in the DA? Its instant death. I think the results of the fight mislead people to think that the bad guy died because he tried to HO or because he lost position during the HO. The reality is that it was probably someone that could not fight and thats why he tried to HO. You would have killed the guy any way. Maybe even faster. But, that is not a function of the HO itself.
From the few duels that had in DA, I learned one thing. You break to early at the merge, you die. Now if you set up from 4K or 5K out to avoid a close to HO merge it may be a different story but that is not avoiding a HO since there was never the opportunity for one. Then, after the first merge, you will eventually end up facing each other if your skill level is similar. What do you do then? It will only take ONE of you to pull the trigger. It will also take only one of you to try and avoid it and expose your belly. It will take one of you to claim it was a low deflection, bla bla bla. The only thing that takes both of you is respect of the other guy and NOT pulling the trigger. Respect the fact that he did not HO you and tried to avoid the collision and do the same. That is the only thing that takes TWO.
However, most people in here are looking for a kill. Earning it or enjoying a fight are not important.

There is a technique I like to call the psychological HO. This is where you're not flying for the HO or trying for the HO but you keep the guy thinking about the HO.
(1) From 2500 to 2000 out waste some BBs so the guy sees the flashes, now he's thinking about it, he also thinks your a noob and don't have a clue. Same goes when your chasing a guy; always fire from too far away makes it more likely he'll turn around.
(2) If the first pass isn't a hard merge fly your normal approach making sure you don't get HOed, but as you pass make sure they hear the guns rattle. When you turn around don't do it well, flop a little bit, whatever. Now their thinking "dudes gonna ho every time" they also think you don't know what your doing, this tends to make them more aggressive.
(3) At this point you can "run", this will further make your opponent believe your a hopeless noob and will often prompt him to leave the safety of his horde and follow you. He's thinking this is an easy kill.
(4) When you finally merge in earnest, fly for separation, go for the lead turn and as you pass rattle the guns. This keeps him thinking about the HO and quite possibly Ps him off. More the better.
(5) Now fly your fight, don't give up position for the shot but squeeze off BBs at opportune times. Makes them be more careful. Be prepared to be called a HO dweeb when you shoot them down from behind. You can honestly reply "I didn't try to HO". This will further infuriate your opponent which is, as Hitech has indicated, the object of the game.
Finally, a little nugget for the dweebin: NEVER talk smack when you get shot down. It always comes off as a whine. If your going to talk smack only do it when your successful. If someones tries to HO and you kill them, that's the time to explain how lame they are. Same goes for gangs and vulches.
Word.

Yup, and yup!

If it happens after the merge its not a HO.

At Kong,
Actually when a guy HO's me at the merge, or even a bit out, I do give him more space. Especially in a cannon plane.
I won't give up the fight, but I find myself constantly cognizant of any head on situation that I can expect to get shot at, and that probably leads to me maneuvering to stay out of front more than I otherwise would. It leads to a defensive mindset on my part.
It doen't happen often, but up against the big cannon birds like La-7s, Niks, and Typhoons, it's on my mind.
I think I need to get into the DA with someone and learn these avoidance techniques. I was always taught that you wanted to merge as close to the other guy as possible to reduce separation so he can't get angles at the merge. Anything that you do that maneuvers away from the enemy's nose would intuitively seem to be giving up an angle to him.
I think I need to see what y'all are talking about to understand.

In DA, or in a fight between 2 people who are thinking "duel", absolutely. But I can hardly ever recall those kind of merges in MA. Most of time, when I do a late DA style break the other guy goes straight on through, or breaks even after the merge, so there's so much separation that I get no shot opportunity.
I'm wondering if the difference is the set up ahead of time. In the DA, all merges are essentially head on with no lateral or vertical separation. However, in the MA I usually try to get those separations before the merge -- I try NOT to have the enemy in the armor glass, but off to the side or above as we close. They usually let me have the separation, which lets me start the lead turn earlier without as much danger. In general, I've used a rule of thumb I learned from Murdr when talking about lead moves in vertical attack -- I start my move when the opponent crosses the imaginary line drawn along my best tightest path.
If they don't give the separation, then I usually end up with a later lead turn.
Do you experienced guys think earlier lead turns are bad even under these circumstances?
Toonces:
I think you are remembering the same thing these guys are saying, but it seems to me those rules of thumb apply best when both sides are flying with the same merge rules,. the most important of which is nose to nose late break.
Those things may not apply in the MA, just like formalized medieval jousting was very different from a battle like Agincourt.
-
Everything I'm saying is applied to an MA environment.
Dueling is a totally different animal.

:rofl Don't you think there is a reason the merges are like that in the DA? Its so no one has an unfair advantage over the other guy. You turn too early, you die. You turn too late, you die. It is that simple no matter the environment (unless you have the speed to rope the bad guy). The guy coming in for the HO shot does have an advantage over you. He may not know it or you may not know it but he does. He is on offense you are on defense. What happens after that depends on the planes, pilots, and estates. There is no golden rule about a lead turn, a late lead turn (what ever that is) or the guy HOing is going to lose because of his evil ways. He already caused you to go defensive.

People... !!!
Those who fly turny planes (and took off with 25% fuel, and have their convergence set to 200) do not have the right to yell "Ho!" period.
Extreme example: A Zero can not yell "Ho" at a 262, not ever.
Ho'ing isn't the problem, the problem is the turny planes crying when the faster planes don't turn fight them.
HO PROOF SOLUTION
Keep your convergence set to 650 yards. Hence, when a 'ho-down' happens, all you have to do is FIRE EARLY and then after, IMMEDIATELY 'BREAK'... put stick all the way to one of the corners (usually one of the 'back' corners) and the rudder in the same direction (left or right) as the stick...
If done correctly, you will see flashes on the enemy plane as his bullets are going by you.
I remember I was in D9 and got accused of 'ho'ing with a turny Spit that had to have taken off with only 25% fuel. He first knife-fight killed both my friends who were suckered into turn fighting it, and then was trying to get back to base since I would only horizontally boom and zoom him. I wouldn't turn fight him, nor would I allow it (the Spit) to go home, everytime he turned towards home, I turned towards his tail. At which time he would turn towards me, in hopes that I would turn fight. He was late on the 2nd time, supposively trying to avoid a 'ho,' he got 'deflection shot'ed and that was that. Then on 200 he yelled 'ho!'...
:furious
If your plane is set for extreme turning, and you yell 'Ho!' you are only lieing to yourself and acting stupid to your opponent.

Fefer to my original post if u bothered reading it??
If u flew at me strait on, then u should assume u might get shot at.
90% of the players dont hold their fire when they have a shooting solution no matter what angle there facing.
I guess u are under the impression everyone knows its u comming at them and that u wont fire. However on my end I dont know who is comming at me and if they are planning to fire on me or not. U face your guns at me expect to get some lead on your face.
I guess u are confusing the MA with the DA again. Sorry but I dont intend to spend 10 minutes flying to a fight to end up assuming im going to get a fair 1 on 1 just to get killed in 3 seconds because i was the one who ASSUMED the enemy wont fire.
U know if u get HOED so much u might want to rethink YOUR tactics and not critisize me on mine? just some food for thought, how about I fly my plane and u fly yours. Everyone hates a backseat driver.

Personally I could care less about a HO. It's a part of the game and was a part of combat avaition in WW2. When pilots in the war saw an adversary in their gunsights I would wager that they took the shot rather than say to themselves "I should give this guy a chance to kill me in the interest of fair play!
I don't go looking for the H2H merge, but when in the unavoidable "head on"... I will take the shot because I know that the other pilot WILL even if I don't.
It is sometimes a little baffling why there is so much whining about the H2H. Common sense dictates that when a con turns toward you, and you don't turn toward the con, 9 times out of 10 said con will wax your six and you'll be in the tower post haste! :aok

As a matter of pride? wow boy u really need to learn what PRIDE is really about. The dummest people in the world can take pride in things they do.
Personally if my only pride was to come from making sure my typing is up to par in this meaningless place then I would feel very bad about myself.
The problem is, is people in here feel the need to have POWER over others in this forum, and think they are all mighty and belong.
Some people still forget that this is a GAME FORUM, not a forum on economics, human rights, or rocket science.
If u have to get on someone in here about their spelling then you really have taken the internet to seriously and made what happens in here affect your own life.
And if u actually read this post and count the mispellings and I am sure ther are some. Then I really feel for u. The problem is not my spelling, the problem is I rather not spend 15 minutes on this forum typing a perfect paper, when i have way better things to do in my real life, so i ramble threw it in really fast typing and dont care what i really get right or wrong.
This is just another attempt to change the discussion at hand because I made a really good point and u couldnt come up with a good counter for it so u change the subject and point towards something u can win at.

This response is so steeped in ignorance that I'm not sure where to begin.
If you don't take pride in things you do, that's a personal choice.
A person's spelling habits aren't necessarily a reflection on their level of intelligence but they are a reflection on effort and education. It's clear that you are both lazy and poorly educated.
I do not count your spelling errors. They leap off the page as they scream out your intellectual malaise.

The irony here can't be ignored! All these arguments about the HO?!?!?!
Historically, shooting someone in the back was seen as cowardly. Smart? sure, but cowardly.
Valiance amongst those who historically cared was often based on your opponent having an equal or greater chance to inflict damage on you. Not always true of course, but look at the native american act of counting coup, or the western gunfighter image. ("Gunfighters" actually shot each other in the back quite often, but were seen as less "manly" because of it...) Those that did shoot others in the back were ridiculed as cowards. (Not too loud though- you might be the next one to get shot in the back!)
We have an image of valiance based on squirming around behind someone to shoot them in the back. Interesting, isn't it?
The thing about spelling and grammer- It's like riding a bike. Once you learn how to do it, it's automatic. You almost have to TRY to fall off! When you do it accidently, you glance around embarrassed hoping nobody noticed.
Horrendous spelling and grammer makes reading painful and annoying. Like watching a DVD that skips, or listening to a CD on a bumpy road with a bad CD player. It's very difficult to ignore.
To have occasional errors is forgivable, as are the errors made by those using english as a second or third language.
Repetitive errors made intentionally, or simply due to a lack of caring? Definately sets you up for a less than favorable image amongst your peers. You might be better off to claim it as ignorance- at least maybe we'd feel sorry for you, rather than annoyed by you.

As far as your Remark on the Military u Sir should be ashamed of yourself.
I dont see any of u in here doing your duty to protect your country, all u want to do is talk about what others did back in WW2 and PLAY it out, then act like your god all mighty.
Theres men half your age going and doing things they dont belive in nor want to do, but they do it because their country askes it of them.
For u to sit here behind a computer screen and make a idotic remark like that, just because u want to prove your worthyness over me???
U should be ashamed of yourself and apologize not to me, but this entire board for making a comment of such degrading manner towards our american military.
Dont blame whats going on on them, blame it on people like BUSH, whome u seem to favor alot seeying as out u sit behind safe doors doing the talking and none of the action.

Once again, the discussion at hand was changed to an argument between you and SR, I'm not trying to get "out" of anything. Are you having trouble with your comprehension as well as your other problems?
As far as Military goes, yes, as far as Education goes, well lets see, I have enouph that I do PSYCH OPS for the military, and I have Top Secret Security clearence.
I doubt it, and I doubt it.

Simply brilliant, Phil. Damned if you aren't a wordsmith too!

Your arrogance is astounding. Do you really think that you are the only one in the game who serves, or has served? Do you really think that you are more honorable and better than everyone else in here because you are on active duty (apparently as a RAMF, but regardless on duty). Off the top of my head, inside 20 seconds, I can think of 6 AHers I know personally -- not as a name on a screen -- that have served.
And why does your ignorant arrogance infuriate me so much? Well, next weekend I'm having dinner with an AH player who not only served, but who nearly died in Iraq from an IED made from 2x240mm mortar shells. That little number went off right next to his stationary Humvee, sending a fragment millimeters in front of his neck and another fragment penetrating the helmet itself. He ended up with a multiple skull fractures, a subdural hematoma (a pool of blood right next to his brain), and a closed head traumatic brain injury that has left him unable to work for over a year. The driver braking a millisecond sooner than he did, a fragment flying a couple millimeters either way, an un-uparmored hummer, poor quality control on the helmet, ANYTHING...would have left Larry dead and Emily a widow.
Speaking of education, did I mention he is a doctor, with postgraduate specialty training? That his entire career was placed on the line when he served in the field? That he still hasn't been able to see a single patient in his year off work?
 And you act like you're the only one here who deserves military respect?
Meanwhile, you're prideful and arrogant about being a psy ops soldier. You talk as if civilians are serving you, not the other way around! In contrast, the warriors I know are far more likely to be quiet and respectful with the public they SERVE, no matter how the civilians embarrass themselves.
So, even ignoring your...ummm.... controversial BBS behavior, sir, you have completely proven that you are a tard, no matter what clothing you wear to work.

Simaril, thanks for running with that. I knew our active duty/recently active duty folks wouldn't let that go by.
-
Note - I wrote this in first, second and third person....LOL. The post is not directed at anyone. Its just my two cents worth. I can't spell either.
Theres been a lot of talk about avoiding the ho by various maneuvers leading into the merge. These are all valid and some work some don't
I find it most rewarding to engage from a disadvantage and then out fly the opponent to his six and shoot him there. However this is not always possible due to multiple cons. So one must create shots as soon as possible.
Now in this process I will be totally messing up the other guys angles. As most of you know I fly the 109k4. This is not a "turny plane". This is done by delicately manipulating the angels by using the other guys instinct to "yank and bank" into my six. And most time I want you to get on my six but thts another story.
Which leads us to the HO question.
When I have gained and angle....even if it is only 2 or 3 degrees and I fire as you go by this IS NOT A HO. I am looking for that one mistake to be made. If my plane comes around on top of yours AND I can point my nose at you as you go by but YOU CAN NOT then too bad....you made a mistake and now your dead.
I get 200 "ho tard" sometimes from this kind of shot. I dont see how its a ho if you get shot from your prop to your tale right across your canopy. It might have been very close to a ho but it is not a ho.
I mostly stall fight. This means I may be going quite slow compared to the enemys speed. It is quite easy for me to simply rudder my nose and shoot off a wing as I go by. Is this a ho??? I don't think so. It means you made another mistake.
I see a con. Hi or low doesnt matter. I begin my move. We see each other and now the fights on. IF you shoot as we pass that is a Ho no matter what angle. However, after you miss and I get angles on you because you decided to go for guns (or put another way make a mistake) and I end up passing by you with my nose pointed at your wing, tail, canopy or any part of your plane and therfore blow you apart....this is not a ho.
Anytime you go for guns on a target you are giving up angles. This means I can turn while you can not because you must hold the guns solution while I am turning. IF you miss then you have made your first mistake.
When in a slow and low stall fight. The kind I try to draw all you guys into and we begin turning somebody is going to be on top and someone on the bottom. If this continues at some point I or them will have an angle in which a shot can be made. Some players will consider "ANY" angle less than like 20 deg is a ho. Well this is just poopoo. If it is possible for me to delicately rudder my nose around and down or up enough to shoot any part of your plane this is not a ho.
The fact you can't get your nose up or down in time but I can does not constitute a ho.
On the merge we can both get our nose on for a shot. This IS a ho shot.
If after the merge we begin turning and I out turn you therfore getting a guns solution before you can and you get shot this is not a ho even if you get right it in the face....especially if you dont have a guns solution. IF this happens you should have been paying attention and made a counter move BEFORE you got shot.
As for my style of play. You can EXPECT me to NOT fire on the first merge pass. After that all bets are off. Here you CAN EXPECT me shoot you at any and every oppurtunity.
In the DA rules are diff. Here it is about pilot vs pilot. This is where you want to avoid most front quarter shots especially of they are really close.
This is an oppurtunity to practice your moves...to out think your opponent. You want to get a good deflection or pure six shot. This is about "out flying your opponent" not getting the kill.
In the MA... well its war. Here any mistake will be capitalized upon.

I never said I wasnt the only one who served on this forum. But its certain few in there I am directing that toward, and they still need to have their since of superiority so they call me a liar about my own job.
They probly dont even know what psych ops consits of, nore do they know what the top secret security clearence deals with.
Sadly they choose to balive that I make this up because if it were to be true it would probly hurt their superiority EGO.
What I find funny is pretty much any real combat pilot that plays this game, does not come on here and make fun of others nore tell people how they should fly.
U certain few remind me of that guy that plays it safe by talking smack behind his freinds but when it comes to the real thing u have no clue what to do.
Maybe u should try the military yourself, it might teach u a few things like RESPECT.
The nicest man I know in this game is VILKAS he is a 78 year old war vet. I got more admiration for that man than any of u, and what is so sad is I have had to defenind him by the likes of u idiots who whine about the HO, RAM, because his fllying skills are not TOP NOTCH.
Befor u start opening your big mouths think about who might be behind that name u just sent that P.M. or that idiot rant over 200 to.
Its a disgrace for someone like SKYROCK who had children to say the things he says to other children that play this game, of coarse his only concern is how he can have his HONERABLE fight.
That is the problem with u TARDS, u try to take the fun out of everything. This is a game and u should treat it that way. Maybe u have been playing to long to have fun anymore so thats why u come in here and say the things u say, if thats the case, maybe u should find a new game to play since this one has so many problems like HOING, RAMMING, VULCHING, SQUEKERS. Or better yet go design your own game that dosnt allow any of that. U might actually be happy for once.

I know REMF very well (Rear Echelon Mother F*****) - in fact I was one during my stint with the Canadian Airforce some 14 years ago (where I flew a desk, and could organize files like nobody's business!)

In that situation, I would typically maneuver a bit out of plane to keep us from passing nose on, and to let you know I wasn't going to shoot. Easily 95% of the time, the other guy takes a shot and I'm sure is telling himself "I didn't HO him, I took a front quarter shot because he wasn't right on my nose."
Do you see my point? When two cons go nose on, any maneuver by one off of nose on opens up the HOLY front quarter shot. But, you know, we all know what is REALLY a front quarter maneuvering shot, and what is taking a pot shot at a maneuvering con on the merge.
Almost every con I have ever passed on a merge had guns shooting. For as much as we all complain about the HO, it happens almost every fight.
When I DON'T get HO'd, it's cause to , regardless of outcome. The rest is just BS.

I love you guys. Let's take all the "guilt" off the HOer.
Either the other guy stayed in it (both straight on) so it was a HO by both of you. Nothing to feel guilty about or...
The other guy tryed to avoid the HO so it was a high deflection front quarter shot. Nothing to feel guilty about.
So there you go. Eveyone should HO away with no feelings of guilt and those who whine about it should just shut up because either they did it to or it wasn't a HO.

hhmm...funny you should say that......in lwblue last night, i had a p47 running..at first from me and a squaddie.....my squaddie broke off the chase, and a pony dove in, and was slowly making ground on the guy, so i hung around so as to give him backup. well..the 47 turned(4K out), so i tried to set up a nice lead turn, saw he had turned straight at me...so i adjusted...he turned again, so i adjusted again only to have him AGAIN turn for the ho......so i waited and tried the rudder slip at the last minute to avoid, hoping to be able to turn onto his six(there wasn't enough alt to dive under him).well......he succesfully HO'd me, so i kinda let him know what i thought......and his reaction? "it takes two to ho" i pretty much thought of this thread when i saw that........kinda agitating since htat was my second time in the game in 2 and a half months......oo well..guess some things never change.:D

2) HOs are easy to avoid
3) You are going to kill the guy that went for the HO easily
want to bet some money on it let me know and we will try it.
1) Yes it does, if you're using the strict 0-0 angle definition for Head-On, AND both pilots stay in that 0 angle to within guns range. After that, even if one pilot breask, refusing the 0 angle and attempts to avoid, I'd still say it was an HO merge.
2) A lucky shot not withstanding, yes, in most cases they are. This is by experience, and is based primarily on the combined level of quality of dedicated HO pilots in AH. Certainly, an expert pilot and gunshot has a higher probability of hitting someone in an HO even if they try last minute avoidance. However, by the very dynamics of this merge, the probability of avoiding getting shot is still fairly high.
3) More often than not yes, but there is absolutely no guarantee here. Depends on how well each flies after the merge. In my experience, at least a simple majority of dedicated HO pilots don't seem to recover as fast or as well as the pilot who successfully avoided the HO. This just means there may be a slight reaction time edge to that pilot as the HO pilot suddenly realizes his HO failed and reacts. The other pilot still has to work for the kill and a very good opponent will know how to react quickly.

In short, if you're even thinking about shooting nose to nose in a 1 vs 1, you're a dweeb! There is no decision to be had, just do not shoot because it is a cheap shot at best, and does not involve fighting. Now, if you are worried about kills, then blast away, but you will be a dweeb!

This is a matter of definition. If you're "twisting and turning with a couple of guys" then you cannot be in an HO with anyone at any point, BY THE DEFINITION OF AN H.O. THAT MOST PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE.
When you say H.O. I believe most people are referring to a 1v1 "neutral merge" as the "initial" tactical manuveur in an engagement between "two" opponents.

There are a few problems with this way of handling the second and further merges. You can not go nose to nose every time. One must attempt to make the maneuver such that your "gaining" angles. When I see this happening it tells me the guy doesnt have or cant get any other option than to bring his nose into mine attempting to force either a ho or a non firing pass due to nose to nose.
Now, when I see this happening I KNOW that I can make an alternate turn out of plane that will not bring me nose to nose but give me angles. Once I get some angles its only a few more turns before I can get his six.
Spits like to do this a lot when they are getting out flown because its all they can do....point nose at other guys nose hoping for something.
When merging like this you have many choices. You don't have to go nose to nose. You can go under his nose, over his nose or lead turn. You can easily pass under or over and escape for a climb. You can as he passes nose to nose "reverse the circle" bringing him to you from the opposite side making him think here comes my shot. Before he is in guns range simpley pull up and roll over. You will be right on his six IF he went for guns.
Also remember...after the first merge there are no ho's. So if you get shot in the prop thats the luck of the draw.
ITs true that merging as close to the other plane as possible is best so as not go give up any angles. But sometimes you have to GIVE angles to get them. Don't be afraid to throw out some bait. They go for it every time.
Unless you are just totally screwed about to fall out of the sky you do have atleast two other options no matter what. These could be many things but the options are there.

ok....in TA the other night, i was flying against what appered to be a very well flown f4u..i forget which model though....me in a p38l........anyway, it was a low alt knife fight....and we were nose to nose a lot......but that was mostly due to me not wanting to give him any "breathing room"...and neither one of us ever took the "ho" shot. it was a VERY fun fight in there......we traded advantages a few times, me gaining his six a couple times....and him doing some turns i didn't think a corsair could do, and landing on my six.........the fight went on till i ran outta gas.......
as far as giving angles to get em.....this i still can't seem to do, as i definitly die then........that's the only reason i stay in close and try to not let the other guy extend(run?)...eventually one of us makes a mistake...and sometimes when i'm in close like that, he'll often give me a fairly nice snapshot too......and i seem to do better with these than i do when i actually have time to aim.
anyway, just my 2 cents.........

LOL maybe I wont paying attention to to country channel.
I guess maybe that could also be because this is my second time in, I have been out to long and must do basic again.
My first job was Satt Coms(31U) which i balive has changed to the MOS 25 catagory now, if u have any idea what that is. Basicly deals with communications using sattelites. My point is I dont have to act like a smart intelligent person to get approval from people in here.
This is just a game, but I guess for some it is a place to come and feel special outside normal life. I dont really know what it is, but the way people act on this forum, if they acted that way in real life they would definetly get no respect.
People that want to cuss and whine and kids that arnt theirs. People that degrade others and military for their own amusment and to prove their point. If they acted like this in real life then they would get your butts kicked quit alot and get no respect, it just amazes me how people that act that way in here, seem to be the ones everyone wants to look up to.

You gotta be careful about the whole "relying on the other guy not to shoot" thing.
I'm a firm believer in not firing on the nose-nose merge. I'm also a firm believer in staying out of the other guys guns. Not getting shot is YOUR responsibilty. YOU need to stay out of his guns. NOT FIRING is NOT his responsibility. Any time you get in his firing area you need to expect to be shot.
It's really nice not having a guy come nose-nose with guns blazing, but you should never expect it. That will only lead to one thing- the 200 HO rant. Always expect to be shot, but feel free to be pleasantly surprised when you don't.
My deep, dark "secret"- I NEVER merge with firing on the merge as my intention. However, if on the merge I see the guy "expecting" to not be shot, careless about his position, in my guns or so close all it takes is a twitch to hit him, guess what?? I make the split second decision to shoot him. Not a "big" shot, just a little spray, ideally not enough to damage him but enough to hopefully get him re-thinking how he does things.
In my opinion, he made a fundamental mistake- that of positioning himself where I can shoot him. He deserves to be shot at. To not shoot him is not doing him any favors. It's allowing him to think that he was doing things fine, which he wasn't. It will lead to sloppy merges where the outcome is determined not by lack of mistakes, but by who doesn't shoot when they should.
Classic examples of what I'm refering to are the guy who pulls up early in the merge, showing me his belly. BANG! The guy who is a little low/left of my nose, turning across in front of me. BANG!
Merge decent, I won't shoot. Merge wrong, you need to be told you did it wrong.
Stay outta my guns, you won't get shot.
Warlockl-
Regardless of whether I agree with your points or not, I must say I appreciate your effort to improve your grammer and spelling. It lead to me reading your post, and being able to concentrate on your message rather than being so distacted by trying to sort out the "code" of your previous jumbles. I admit being so tripped up by many of your previous posts as to skip them and go on to the next.
Are you really military? How do you want the military to be judged? Can it / should it be judged by the quality of its members? Do you think you don't reflect the military when you claim to be a part of it? How does the military look when a third grader has better spelling and grammer than one of its members? How does it look when the military member CHOOSES to have poor spelling and grammer? Should we feel safe and protected? Should we trust its members with weapons? Expensive equipment? Important decisions? I'm not saying the military needs to be perfect, or that you need to be able to spell to be a good soldier. I'm saying that you should TRY to be as perfect as possible. Strive for perfection! Strive to be elite! Be proud! No shame in falling short, as long as you give it your best effort!
You don't want to "take the time" to spell correctly? Time this- type "honorable". Now type "honerable". Which took longer? Which demands respect? Which has no meaning (not even a word...)
Serve your (our) country. I <<<>>> that!
Please do so in a manner that will honor our military. Please do so in a manner that honors those that have gone before us, and those who have died for us. Please present yourself in a manner that demands respect. It's not just YOUR image anymore.

Ho's are avoidable. Practice barrel rolls. 99% of collisions are accidental unless both parties are trying to collide. Then it's not an accident, at all. And there's no call for concern.
I'm sure this has all been said multiple times in this thread. ;)

Well this makes my point Mtnman, I honestly have never tried to imrpove my grammer for anyone on here, sometimes it comes out right, sometimes it comes out wrong.
My point is If i miss something I am not going to spend 20 minutes proofreading it for people in here.
No it does not make them my peers by choice, nore will I respect anyone on here because of said time they have invested in this game, it does not make them right or wrong. I get respect I give it, it is that simple if u cant handle that then dont read what I have to say.
Its sad that u guys think I am the problem because of improper grammer, yet u continue and encourge bashing of individuals on this game, for instance some of u deserve to get squarly popped in the mouth for the way u talk to 12 and 13 year old kids on here. I bet u wont do it in real life while his father is standing there. There is absolutly no reason for a grown man to come in here and act the way he does to people in this game.
Its a game and it should be FUN no matter WHAT happens to u, if u get HOED well its a game grab u a shiny new plane and go get sum.

You're a problem as much as a pinata is a problem at a birthday party. Eventually, it is going to get smacked around until it's guts spill out. The pinata doesn't endlessly run its' mouth so it is a bit smarter than you, though.
The fact that your grammar is at a 3rd grade level is a point of amusement. Clowns need a gimmick. :aok

LOL like how u pull out the important part i made on that post, more like you and your squad memebers run your mouth more than anyone, u are also the most disrespectful towards kids and people of medeocre perfomance.
You pick on my grammer because you yourself are one of the grown men im talking about. U need to grow up and stop whining about unimportant things.

Sorry MRDR u decide to post a definition of the word but u take it in your own context. In that case then everyone in my squad is my peer and that is my definition of it. I dont balive that I am above anyone. I never started out dissing anyone until I got dissed on myself (READ THE ENTIRE THREAD NEXT TIME). I only defended myself and point out how ignorant others are for treating others the way they do.
Oh and as far as english goes, (everyone here is beneath the bother to proofread) looks like im not the only one, but u know I dont feel the need to council everyone on their typing. If u going to complain about my typing dont make yourself a hypocryte. Once again just one more trying to show their superiority and claim they dont make the same mistakes as others and we should all follow suit

and of coarse anything that u dont respond to is usless especally when someone is telling u how ignorant u are. Once again, another fine example of avoiding whats really going on to talk about something else;)
I say it again, GROW UP start acting like a GROWN ARS MAN!!!!
For the record I didnt put anyone down in here that did not say something demeaning to myself or someone else. U act like a A-Hole expect to get treated like one. U come in here and expect to talk your smack and get away with it, then want to hound someone for making a response to defend themselfs. I guess it works well online huh MR INTERNET TOUPH GUY. and yes some of u DO DESERVE to get pimp slapped for the way u talk to people in here, listen to your on squaddies on 200 sometime, probly the main reason why some people quit playing, all u are is a trash talker and u want to make people feel bad about how they play instead of helping them.
Me telling u what u deserve has nothing to do with being touph, i treat people very nicely in this game.
Take zoozoo for instance, probly not liked by many because he talks alot, switches sides alot, has been known to give up missions. SO WHAT he is a KID. a GROWN man arguing with a KID in this game is like winning the special olympics, u might WIN but u still look like a retard doing it. A grown man has no right to talk to these kids in this game this way. nore another adult for that matter

What did I twist? You said both of those things. You are the only one discussing violence to people, tough guy.
listen to your on squaddies on 200 sometime, probly the main reason why some people quit playing,
1. you need to keep up on current events.
2. I am not responsible for what others type on 200, are you?
3. I do very little smack talking on 200. What little I do is mostly related to saying hello to comrades or whining.(I realize and admit to my shortcomings, you should try it)
I see you in debates/smack w/ people on 200 regularly, however. Wait, let me guess... they started it so you are guilt free and entitled to argue on the channel whereas I am far less noble than you so my motives cannot possibly be just. Right tough guy? :aok

Far from it, telling u what u deserve and saying i want to be the one to do it are 2 different things. Like I said u were the one looking for the fight, and u always do.
Find me a post where I started on u first? U come to every single thread and take crack shots at me. If not u then one of your squaddies.
U look for a fight, plain and simple.

Actually that proves everyones points about language skills. Everyone else looks to a standard dictionary for the definative meaning of words, not the warlock glossary since that does not appear to be in publication.
Actually I am trying to be helpful and point out why you get the flack that you do, but never mind, carry on.

LOL no u arnt, you took pop shots at me to, but now u doing just like the rest of them and trying to make yourself the good guy. There would be no replies from me if u had not given me anything to reply to.

no u just interpret the definition differently than I do, but u claim to make your intepretation right and mine wrong, but want to switch it around and say my interpretion is the only one that counts.
I never said that, however my opinion is, not everyone in this game is my PEER, my squad, my country, and people i FLY with are my peers. People i have no other contact with on other countries who insult me when i shoot them down are not my peers.

So, you really aren't doing any PSYCH OPS yet because you are going to basic ... and there is a possibility that you will wash out. Also, they probably wouldn't let you near anyone until you do get thru basic and other forms of training. So I would hazard a guess as to your not really doing any real PSYCH OPS as of yet.
Now we see that you "will" ... meaning "might have" or "might not" ... have top Secret clearance ... so you really "don't have" clearance yet ... huge difference.
Your story is unravelling on itself due to your bravado and embellishments ... all to impress.
Steve an others keeps taking pot shots at you just for that reason ... to get you to shoot yourself in the foot ... which you did.
It is they that should be in PSYCH OPS.

I'm not asking you to improve your spelling/grammer for "anyone on here". You complain that people change or mis-interpret your posts. Writing in a clear/concise manner will alleviate most of that. Having a code of poor grammer and mis-spellings to decifer leads to poor communication.
It would seem that good communication skills would be vital to successful PSYOP's, wouldn't it? Or is it OK for your messages to not get across as intended?
"...sometimes it comes out right, sometimes it comes out wrong." Is your whole problem.
I never would have said anything about your communication skills, either, assuming they were just a result of a limited communication "skill set". I only added my 2 cents because you adamantly stated you did it on purpose. That implies you're purposely annoying us, which could lead to some "flack", which seems to be what has happened.
20 minutes to proof-read??? Please!!! In 20 minutes I can read over a dozen posts. Slow reading skills show something by themselves don't they? For that matter, pay some attention as you type, and it will be good enough without even going back to check.
"...I get respect I give it, it is that simple..." You've got that backwards. Show respect, and you'll earn respect. Approach it the way you've stated, and you're going to have issues.
You also imply that I bash individuals (just 12 and 13 year olds? or others?) on 200. You've got to be kidding.

I truly dont care of u balive me or not because your opinion does not matter as much as u think it does.
This is how I know it's all bullchit. If you were in a PsyOps unit, you'd know that it falls under USSOCOM chain of command.

How do u think catch phrases like ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO ME!!!1 got started? These are games and they are ment to be played as games and nuthing else really matters. Grammer in a game should really be about as important as the next plane u are going to fly.
If anyone in here says that u can have a seriouse topic in this form then I would have to lauph. Only topics dealing with real life cases, like someone talking about a great ww2 vet passing away, a squad member passing, or a someone with a illness in real life are about the only thing that would qualify.
There cannot be a seriouse post about Aces High simply because aces high is just a game.

The score u get on your adsvab determins what u qualify for, and it does consist of english, math, grammer and quit a few other things. I wont be sent to my unit until after I get trained in psych ops which will take around a year since i must learn other languages that they choose to teach me.
please stop trying to come in here and prove me wrong, u can research all u want, it still dont change the fact that that is my MOS.

Think what u want, I know what I am doing for the military and u don't.
I highly doubt u even know what psych ops consists of, u must have the wrong idea about the entire job.
Its not james bond stuff so to speak. It is basicly efing with the enemy in any creative way possible, u have to research culture and learn languages of whomever u are fighting against. The goal is to get the civilian population of the enemy to think how u want them to, or to simply mess with them. This could simply be as simple as passing out flyers talking about the death of osama bin laden, or even blasting some disco duck on a loud speaker during a heated battle.
The top secret clearence comes from basicly getting to see the classified paperwork on orders and assignmets befor they are givin to the combat units.
I had top secret clearence befor in SAT COMS because my job was relaying important information threw communications lines. It is not like I am going to see documentation on who really shot J.F.K. but merly where the next air strike might be.
U need to get your head out of the movies is what I recommend to u.

You blame others for not comprehending what you've posted and the irony is that you utterly fail at being able to comprehend what others are saying. This is a clear sign of your poor education.
I know what the army psychological operations units do and what their chain of command is. Clearly something that you don't know, if you did, you'd know that PsyOps (both the 4th PsyOps Group and the 96th Civil Affairs Brigade) fall under the purview of USSOCOM while being under the direct command of the US Army Reserve Command. Yep, both units are Army Reserve Units (96% of all members are reserves). If you're going to make up stories, at least do a little research and find what the chain of command is for the unit you're lying about being in.
To be fair, I was incorrect in asserting that you were stretching the truth a little bit. I will correct myself and say that you are completely lying about what you are doing.
Once again I don't care of u belive me or not, because in real life my job is still going to give me a paycheck regardless of your opinion;)

This thread will go down in history with the Voss thread although to a smaller degree of notoriety I suspect.
Caught lying and in text, the OP tries several times to subtley twist his story into something believeable then turns it back on the audience when he is not believed, all the while the lies remain on the page for us to view. Classic delusion... one of those dangerous people that, at least on the surface of theri consciousness, believe their own lies.
The implosion is complete, although I suspect the aftershocks will follow for quite some time as Warlock simply isn't smart enough to go away.
I, with the help of my worthy peers have exposed Warlock for the fraud/whackjob he is. Honestly, he's so dull witted that cracking him posed little challenge. I may linger but my work is done here.
I thank all of you who tuned in and a special thanks to those who joined me in swatting the subject around. I take no joy in swatting those that do not deserve it but I think we can all agree that Warlockl had it coming.

Efing with peoples minds is my job.
Well Warlock many of us have already done our duty. I was drafted when you were still just a glimmer in your fathers eye.
And I will remind you that at this moment in time it is a volunteer military.
So if you dont want the job then you shouldn't have joined up. Not you per se but all the others you mentioned.
So that is very rude and uninformed to make the charges you have made.
I will also remind you that those who serve are not better Americans nor more equal than those who dont.
So tell me, is waterboarding torture?:)

A pathological liar believes in the lies, at least at the time that she or he is talking. Their stories tend to be very dramatic. They often portray the person as being smarter, braver, more attractive, or more interesting than she or he really is. Sometimes people begin to catch onto pathological liars because of obvious flaws in the stories. A fairly young man will describe his heroics in the Vietnam war. A homely woman will talk about all the men who fell instantly in love with her. Sometimes the flaws may be more subtle and it may take a knowledgeable person to find them. Often it happens that a pathological liar will be caught out at a party by someone who really was a pilot, really lived in Africa, or really was a fashion model.
Suspect a pathological liar if:
the stories seem too dramatic or unrealistic
the lies seem to serve no purpose except to impress people or
the lies can easily be shown up
Sometimes pathological lying appears to be related to physical causes, such as problems in the brain. Other times they appear to be related to low self-esteem. In any case, good diagnosis and treatment is needed. Contact your healthcare provider for assistance and referrals if needed.

I have followed this thread for sometime with laughter at the pointless bickering. But now, this has gone too far. As one who has raised tens of thousands of dollars over the years for the Special Olympics and taken pleasure in providing those games for handicapped children, I deeply resent your comment. While I see the point you are trying to make, children in the Special Olympics did not choose to be handicapped and if, given chance of a non-handicapped body often had enough drive that they could have been or would have been athletes in the 'real' Olympics. So, please, do not come in here and insult those athletes with the comment of "retard". Once you bring yourself to that level, I believe you have made yourself the only "retard" here.
As a side note... you said you spell check for your superiors and that you are in Psyco-Ops with Top Secret Security Clearance. You also said that you ahve been out too long and must return to Basic. My question, if you have been out, how are IN to have superiors?
Just a question, forgive my ignorance.

Ok I think people complain too much about getting hoe'd. A head on pass was one of the most effective tactics during WWII the trouble is people dont stop and think that when making a headon your combined airspeed = the closure rate of your aircraft and thus you can open up on someone accuratly at about 1000 out. You fire a quick burst then break hard to avoid the ram its that simple. Another thing is most hoe's occur in furballs where everyone has someone on their butt or someone is comming in to help a friend out. If I'm in a furball, outnumbered, or trying to help a friend out and the only shot I can get is a Head on i'm going to take it and I'm sorry but if you wind up in the tower and I'm still alive then thats a positve outcome to an engagement as far as I'm concerned

I've been paying attention to this idea, and I have to admit you're absolutely right. The times I go up against someone who knows what they're doing, my usual MA lead turn is way too early...and results in me being very quickly dead.
I hereby recant any suggestion to the contrary!
