Title: Mission Squelch Option
Post by: AAolds on November 03, 2007, 10:37:56 AM
Dear HTC,

We have vox and voice squelch options.  It is time for mission planners to be able to choose who can and cannot join their missions.

As some of us have experienced, some people who shall remain unnamed   have joined missions, then switched sides to attack that very mission.  As a mission planner it would be great to be able to block such people from being able to join the mission, otherwise, I have no choice to but to cancel those missions since I am not going to tolerate a spy and traitor and get other players killed due to it.

YES!! :aok

I hate the players who join NOE missions just to break dar all the way to the target, and shooting all their ord and ammo off at the other mission players.

I was waiting for this topic to be brought up over the last couple of months.

I vote NO.

Take the ego elsewhere.   This Community is fractured enough without "picking and choosing".   It would be abused as well.

Well that would  be a good idea... we've had a couple of spies ruin some fantasic missions due to spies that joined then switch to attack the very same mission they previously joined...

i vote YES:aok

perhaps a "switching sides" buffer time - ie: you get one free switch per tour, any after the first would have a waiting time like 1, 12 or 24 hours. This might help with the spying and not lead to abuse on picking and choosing. Just a thought.

I've had missons seemingly spied on, but in this "hide behind the monitor" world, I cannot prove it. Spying is the same as peeking at your opponents fleet on a table-top Battleship game.

However, I don't believe this is the answer to the problem, nor do I ever expect to see an answer soon.

Again, you get this implemented, it WILL be abused by folks like yourself, and others.

No, this Community is NOT supposed to be fractured.   It ISN'T a "war game".   It is a "WWII Combat Simulator".    At least that what Dale has said in the past.

No need too olds.    The bottomline is this, it WILL be abused by some.   I never said you would.    But, it'll be abused like "Reporting".

That is why I'd be against it.  I get why yer pissed, I would be too.   But what you might want to do is allow these chodes to spy, and foil by landing and upping somewhere else.

If someone gets to happy with their squelch option in missions, I suspect they would get a bad rep and no one would want to join their missions anyways.  As it stands from my experience, many players wont join missions now because of the spying issue.

Your suggestion of cancelling of uppin from another field is an option, but typically lose people in the transition.  As it is, I just wont be running missions anymore
