Title: Operation Cerberus Frame 1 Score
Post by: Stoney74 on November 03, 2007, 12:53:03 PM
A couple of housekeeping items.  CIC's, ensure that you read the standard FSO rules.  Then, ensure that you read the frame specific rules.

All squad CO's need to recheck their rosters next frame and clean up any modifications to their squad names resulting from other events.  You can see from the logs that there were left over DGS squads and a couple of folks who weren't listed with their squads.  Anyone that's not in their registered FSO squad colors next week will forfeit their score.

Ultimately...

Allies score a marginal victory this frame:

Allied Kill Points:  995  Allied Defensive Points:  1330  Allied Net:  2325

Axis Kill Points:  620  Axis Object Points:  1496  Axis Net:  2116

Allies suffer forfeit of Scrizzap's kill and suffer a 50 point penalty as a result of him re-upping after being shot down

Final Score

Allies 2275--Axis 2116

Well done Stoney!

A brief AAR from some action SE of A18. The rest of my squad except for Twolf are a sector or more out engaged with a large group of 109's and 110's. I stayed closer to A18 with Twolf. He spotted a lone 109 lower and we made a pass on him.

First pic as I made a pass at a 109 zoomed and and looked up. Oh oh. His buddies are coming, but look at the cluster of dots in the distance below my Spit. I nosed down to see what they were.

Spitfire pilots dream come true. I found the Ju88’s. Of course the 109 escorts found me too and all were diving on me.

Into the formation. A forward view. I had yet to take a shot due to a 109 (fester) that was closer than the rest. I did a barrel roll that bought me a few seconds as he over shot and went above me. Enough to get into the formation of Ju88’s.

Here is the rear view from the same shot above. Notice the gaggle of 109’s. Some Ju88’s not in the picture are about 100 feet over head.

Death came moments later as a good burst from a Ju88 gunner landed all over my cockpit. This is left in size for those that might like a new background picture on their desktop. :)

Cool pictures daddog.  Nice AAR.  Looks like you had a fun frame.

Daddog, were all those 109s chasing just your spitfire or were there other spitfires down there too?

Just little old me. :)

Though Twolf was about 10k lower and 1/2 a sector away dueling it out with a single 109. As far as I know I was the only spit in the vicinity. They were all after me.

This was my first opportunity to take part in an FSO and I have to say that I had a blast.  My thanks to all the coordinators and those who let me participate last minute.  I plan on attending regularly now.  I was fortunate to survive the whole frame and actually get some kills.  My hats off to all the other allied pilots that I flew with and also to the most respected Axis foe.  It was awesome.
