A little game for members to get to know each other better. The places you've lived, and the time you lived there. I think it may put a lot of perspective on some views and opinions here.

Copy & Paste from my website:

2001 (Dec) to present - 725 Atwood Drive, Tallmadge Ohio (Joan’s childhood home).

We moved in with Joan’s parents.  Brigitta was born (six weeks early) just four days after we arrived.  In August of 2002 I was hired to teach computers at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish School in Cuyahoga Falls.  We bought the home on Atwood Drive from Joan’s parents.  Annika was born eleven weeks early in March of 2005.

2000 (Feb) to 2001 (Dec) – 1803 Wooten Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Joan and I bought our first home together on Wooten Road in Colorado Springs.  This house was a fixer-upper.  We decided to move to Ohio.  I spent most of the summer and fall of 2001 making this house sellable.

1998 (June) to 2000 (Feb) – 327 Lovell Gulch Road, Woodland Park, Colorado.

Joan and I moved to Woodland Park, Colorado.  I taught as a student teacher at South Street Elementary in Castle Rock Colorado.  I finished school and was hired to teach first grade at Mark Twain Elementary in Colorado Springs School District #11.  Svea was born while we lived in Woodland Park.  I was a member of the local VFD.

1995 (Dec 8th) to 1998 (June) – (David & Joan) 4870 Portrait Place, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Joan and I married and moved to our first home together in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Joan worked at Brian Keys and Associates Architecture for all six years that we lived in Colorado.  I began to substitute teach in Colorado Springs School District #11.  I enrolled in graduate school at Regis University.

<-- lived in the same village (suburb of Milwaukee) my whole life. I currently live about 3/4 mile from the home I grew up in.

Well, that is unless you count the first 4-5 months of my life I am told my parents lived in an apartment in Milwaukee proper.

:D Not Grandma yet. Still a few more years before that. I didn't put years though, because weight & age are off-limits topics. Theoretically,  you could figure it out though. If 6 years was the most I'd lived at any location, you could multiply the number of places by 5 and then you'd get the age cap.

1973 - Born in Detroit at Detroit Children's Hospital.   I broke a string of 17 girls and 14 girls were born after me on June 9th.   My old man says there were a lot of pissed off father's that day, because of the first streak.

1973-1974 - Detroit, MI
1974-1998 - Livonia, MI
1999-Now  - Redford, MI.   When my wife and I bought this house I literally moved 4 miles East on Plymouth Rd.

Leningrad 1972-1982.
Moscow since 1982.

Have been to so many places, will not call them "home" anyway. Traveled with my backpack and a tent all over USSR from Carpathians to Baikal - but it's kinda stupid to call my tent a "home". Also I have to thank many people and places, but my home is here.

Montpellier, south of France, 1982.
All over central Paris till 1987
Quiet comfy suburb for a few years, a lot of vacations to Spain, England, Germany, Venezuela.

Trois-Rivieres, Quebec for a few months
Scarborough (Toronto), Ontario 1992-1996
Lots of traveling, especialy to Algonquin park on vacations.

Epinay-sur-Seine (really crappy suburb of Paris), France, 9 months.
Digny, Eure-et-Loire in the deep country-side of France where one Iranian guy and I were the only people not pale white pretty much anytime, anywhere we went.  1996-1998

Tempe, Arizona 1998-2004.  Traveled pretty much all of the Southwest of the US, and a few trips to Olkahoma, Oregon, Texas.  Completely changes me and my life.

It would be really cool if everyone posted their places/Placemarks in Google Earth.

If you’ve never done this, it’s pretty easy.  In Google Earth, find each place, click the “Add Placemark” yellow pushpin, and fill out as much info as you want and repeat.  When you have saved all of your Placemarks make sure that they are all in one folder (right-click > Add > Folder).  Then right-click on your folder and choose either:
“Save as…”, then upload it to your web-space/website.
Or
“Share\Post…” and it will take you to the Google Earth Community posting wizard where you register and then choose Share\Post again to upload it.

I just tried this and it works fairly well:

I know this is a "friendly" site, and many here are really cool / probably trustworthy, but this IS the internet.

There is a reason I didn't say where I live. with some work, and some research you may be able to extrapolate where I live from old old posts, but I doubt anyone is going to work it out.

That said I am not comfortable giving any personal information out on the net. If God forbid someone did happen, I would feel personally responsible for my own life being ruined (I'm talking identity theft or something similar).

I don't have the resources or family / friends that I could fall back on in an emergency. I would literally become homeless and destitute. that is not worth the risk to me. sorry but that's just my feelings on it.

It’s probably wise to be cautious.  Old places that you’ve lived shouldn’t be too risky, however.  Anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable could just name cities (as most above have).

Boise is great.  I applied for a job there about 10 years ago and would have been happy to move there.

My Grandfather bought sixteen acre lots in the mid 1930's, gave one to my dad who built the house in 1946 and when he passed away in 1981 I bought it from my ma.

Third generation on this acre.  Born in 1953 and still here.  Turned down about a half dozen great job offers but Im still here.

This house raised my parents four children and five of mine.  Hope to pass it on to one of them someday if the area holds up.

Wow, some of you really have lived all over. Some of you from military families travelled an awful lot. Which just proves how tedious my life was, despite my best efforts to do something interesting with my life.

1959-2005 Dublin, Ireland
2005-2007 Galway, Ireland

That's it. Hopefully it will be Dublin again in 2008 or anywhere else but here. I can't stand Galway, seriously overrated as a place to live.:furious

It couldn't been quite different though. I got a green card in 1989 and tried to enlist in one of the US armed services at the time. But was overage:cry  Then I would have a bunch of military bases to add to my list.

I'm probably just bitter and twisted;)  Would have been better for me to have moved around a bit and then settled back here.  Still can't get to like Galway though. But I am in a minority. (a cranky one:p )

We've visited them there several times and like the area. It is drier and cooler than this part of Texas which are pluses for me. The cooler part not so much for my wife. I've never snow skied or broken my neck. I may give both a try.  ;)

Yep, I'm there every other week now. Still trying to figure out how to move up there without being able to sell my house here. I was one of the few people rooting for the wildfires last week.
